  1. Ok currently got my RB25DET out of the car, rebuild starting next week hopefully. So far in parts ive got Arias Forged Pistons Cometic .74" thick Metal Head Gasket New Bearings, Seals & Gaskets Tomei IN&EX Poncams Tomei Cam Gears Iv also got to put on one the motor is run in Garret GT30R 500hp internally wastegated turbo Apexi PowerFC & Hand Controller Nismo 555cc Injectors Bosch 040 Fuel Pump Now i wanted to know while im rebuilding the motor if i should get some SCAT rods and ARP studs, i am hoping for max 300rwkw and run daily on 200-250rwkw. Im wondering how strong the stock bottom end is on the RB25DET and if i need rods or can i get away with the stockers.
  2. How laggy will this turbo be, i have been told 1 bar boost at 3750rpm without cams, and if i got poncams how mcuh quicker would it spool. Garrett GT30R 500hp T3 Internally Gated Turbo Included : GT30R 500 Hp Dual Ball Bearing turbo with 0.82 exhaust (optional 0.5 and 0.6 front cover) with internal wastegate Wastegate (Adj actuator kit) with dual diaphram (reduces lag) Wastegate housing kit CNC Machined braket Turbine: 84 trim 60mm GT30 Compressor: 76.2mm 56T compressor Exhaust housings: T3 inlet, T3 5 Bolt discharge 0.82 A/r, 3 bolt dump pipe flange
  3. whats the difference & how much.
  4. 250rwkw daily driver with the ability to boost it up to hopefully 280rwkw to 300rwkw, i want to run 12s and in darwin with the heat you need alot of power. Has anyone run a GT3071R or GT30R on an RB25 and do they know approx what it makes boost at & what it is capable of power wise. I also don't mind spending a little bit more money to get get good parts, i don't to get a turbo and run it at close to max performance all the time.
  5. I currently have an R33 RB25DET, it looks like it has leaned out on the sixth cylinder, so rebuild is required. I am looking at rebuilding the engine with Arias forged pistons 20thou oversized & might as well get a metal head gasket at the same time. Now at the moment i got the standard turbo running 10 pounds, front mount, 3'' turbo back exhaust with custom screamer pipe, ebc, splitfire coil packs etc. I am looking for more power when im doing the rebuild so at the moment my list is; Rebuild with Arias Forged Pistons & Metal Head Gasket Apexi PowerFC Nismo 740cc injectors Bosch 040 fuel pump Nismo fuel pressure reg I am undecided on the turbo though, i was looking at either the Garrett 3071R or the Garret GT30R from sliding performance but i wanted some suggestions on a turbo to get. The car is a daily driver and reasonable boost response is required. I also may get some Tomei poncams depending on the turbo but i want to use the standard manifold and have an internally wastegated turbo. I was also looking at a HKS GT-RS but due to it costing 4000 i don't think it is possible at the moment.
  6. yeah i was wondering about a HKS 2530 even if someone has a good nic second hander, can't find many HKS turbo's at all. Would the HKS 2530 or 2535 bolt on without other mods cept for usual pfc, pump, injectors etc.
  7. Ok i got a 1993 Series 1 R33 Skyline, RB25DET. So far ive got POD with CAI, Hybrid front mount intercooler kit, cat back 3" exhaust & soon Splitfire DI coil packs. I want this turbo T3 T04E Specs: 57 trim front wheel in .60A/R compressor cover housing. .64A/R rear exhaust housing that requires a external gate. I have a standard manifold etc, i want to know what i need to change, i was talking to someone and he mentioned cause it was externally wastegated i would need new manifold, intercooler piping, dump pipe & of course a external wastegate. I want to know what exactly i will need to bolt this onto my car and what size wastegate i will need etc.

  11. Hi i have had some misfiring starting to happen on my r33 gts-t, i changed the plugs and it was still the same, through process of elimination with the coil packs i have found the coil pack 3 is intermittantly being gay. Anyway i have ordered a set of the splitfire DI coil packs but they won't arrive for 2 weeks (from japan), when im sitting on a speed its alright, dont notice it, only accelerating, i wanted to know is it alright to drive my car slowly over the 2 weeks waiting or should i not drive it at all. I live far away from work & mrs so i rely on my car.
  12. I just picked up my blitz boost controller from autobarn today, f*ken whole manual is japanese, there goes the auotbarn sales talk 'it wll bolt on, just read the manual'. I ordered a Hybrid front mount intercooler kit through them yesterday as well, got if for $890 inc freight to Darwin, not too bad, could have got it cheaper but i get a local replacement warranty etc. MODS are coming slowly
  13. thanks man, i already have a 3" exhaust cat back, need to get a new dump pipe so it's 3" all the way. Would it be worth buying a genuine Hybrid FMIC kit from Autobarn etc for $1000, or a cheap knock off Hybrid kit off ebay for $600. The Mrs want's the Hybrid kit cause its got the 'shiny pipes' as she calls it, and it's half her car so i got to do they shiny bling stuff. Sorry about the stupid questions, owned suzuki siwft gti & nissan exa before the skyline, so i don't know shit about rwd turbo's.
  14. Hi, i have a Series 1 R33 Skyline, ive got my new boost controller but i don't want to hook it up till i replace the SMIC with a FMIC kit because its so hot and humid in darwin. I was talking to a guy at Autobarn and he confused me about brands etc. I then read a Fast Fours magazine which was alright, one thing in the mag i noticed was; A spokesman from Hybrid said with a FMIC kit to suit an R33, they have seen 30-35kw increase from replacing the SMIC with a Hybrid FMIC kit on a good nic RB25DET, this was also based on the cars being completly stock, no exhaust, intake mods or anything. Other people have told me that a FMIC won't increase power and i might loose power if i get an FMIC kit that has a high pressure drop. Now atm i am running stock boost, when i get the FMIC kit i wanna run 10 pounds on the stockie. After i get some more money and stop prettying up the car for the Mrs, i want to get a smallish turbo like a HKS2350, bigger pump, injectors and power FC and i want to run about 15 pounds. I want to ask the experts , what brand of FMIC kit should i get, will i get any performance gain or loss & how Plug and Play are the FMIC kits as they state they are.
