  1. Luke - last time I priced one up from the above mentioned shops(which was a while ago) they were going for between 900 & 1150.
  2. Sh1t.. When did that change? What happens to all the small business owners with fleet cars out on the road? Do they have to take the points if they can't work out which one of their workers was driving the car? What happened to innocent until proven guilty? So they don't car who was driving - they just want the $ obviously... Yet another reason for me to say Perth laws are a maggot on the polished turd called our freedom here in Oz.. You can't do anything in this town without some idiot telling you how to do it "safely". For example - my gf wasn't allowed to take 10 bricks she bought from a brickyard unless she tied a rope in front of them so they couldn't slide forward and covered them. So she put a piece of nylon in front and a tshirt over the bricks. How the f*k is that safe? Why should someone be telling her how to do transport 10 bricks? Apparently it's a law in Perth? f*kin stupid F*kers... We're all being brainwashed. Perth will be a true old person's retirement town within the next 10 years. Mark my words! /rant
  3. Just after his plenum? So after his throttle body? Of course he was able to get more flutter noise as it sounds like the setup is completely wrong. A BOV is there to vent off excess boosted air when the throttle has been closed. If it's on the other side of the throttle it can't vent anything.
  4. How does this work? I thought they didn't introduce the "owner onus" laws here? I thought they still had to prove who was behind the wheel?
  5. Block off you blow off valves so that all waste air from closing the throttle has to go back through the compressors on your turbos. This will cause massive surging to your turbos - some people say it damages them - and make that flutter sound. Problem is you slow the turbos down every time you hear it, causing it to take longer to get back on boost. In short it isn't the sound of an effective street turbo setup unfortunately.
  6. Colder air making you hit boost cut perhaps? It's like the engine stops completely for a second and then pick up again...
  7. Tell me if I'm wrong - but shouldn't there be a charcol canister on the end of that pipe? Boost level - check the piping to your stock solenoid (if you're still using it) and the actuator for the wastegate.
  8. CEF11E - have you read the PM from me yet? I'm happy to take the turbo bits at the agreed price.
  9. Check this morning's PM. I think you'll find the turbo bits sold.
  10. Check your exhaust manifold gaskets and turbo gaskets. They may be leaking.
  11. They'll all work at that boost. For a while.....
  12. You're such a little girl Strich.. And yes - autoclutch are the go. Mine's lasted all sorts of torture and has never ever ever ever once slipped @ 270rwhp - god how I've tried to get it to slip though!
  13. So absolutely no-one on these forums has tried these things out?
  14. The on I'm using has five adjustment points for different revs. The lights change as the engine revs change too. It's way cool at night!
  15. You heard me Joe - don't make me have to tell you again..
  16. How much for the plenum without the runners?
  17. Say No to the resistor!
  18. yup.. sitting at 200rwkw.
  19. How much are you getting it for? I've been using one of those for quite a while with relative success.
  20. I've read that book by Corky Bell. It's not bad, but as you said, would be alot better with current technologies written into it. I'm currently reading "Turbochargers" by Hugh MacInnes. It's a pretty good technical book on matching turbines, housings, compressors ect. I'd definitely recommend it. Shame the VNT turbos aren't used a little more. I'm also a little surprised as Garrett seem to offer this on their GT series turbos. I'm defintiely going to look into it as it seems like such a good solution if serviced properly to provide the reliability required.
  21. shmiddy - not a bad plan, but as he'd be asking for money to fix the damage done to his car, do you think she'd work out who it was? Strich has a good solution.. Joe - stop your biatchin..
  22. How much power is it making and for how long have you been using it? I've given up on this path - couldn't justify the budget required. Have gone the path of the Neo instead.
  23. Has anyone on this forum got any experience in Garrett VNT turbos? Is anyone running them? Looks like the perfect way to match a turbine to engine speed/load. http://turbotech.com.au/garrett4.htm http://www.honeywell.com/sites/ts/tt/turbo...ts_VNTworks.htm http://www.honeywell.com/sites/ts/tt/Passe...12155701757.htm
  24. Pinging is bad and engine destroying - it happens very quickly so don't "dump" it until you either reduce the boost or fix the problem. Means that not enough fuel is getting there as the stock cooler "should" be ok with that sort of boost, so points at the fuel pump or regulator or injectors. I think..
