  1. they also come 1 thou under.
  2. Yes thats them...i think it was $800 for the set to be done.
  3. I have the Microtech "Dash" to suit this item if needed.
  4. Car is now in the hands of Jim Souvas and the team at CRD who have plans for it. He has said a little but likes to not give too much away. His complete understanding of how the car likes to be set-up will be invaluable. Very happy he and the rest of the guys at Croydon are keen to be involved again...thanks Jim. (congrats Josh on the new arrival) Hope to have it ready for testing at a private test day at Sydney Dragway in mid March...then all guns blazing at Compak Attak. Will be a fitting farewell if we manage to run some quick times....8.95 is the target.
  5. Darren, i got mine rebuilt in Brisbane...cannot recall the name but my friend who put me onto them will know. Ill find out for you tomorrow and let you know.
  6. Those turbo's without a proper head will be very disapointing...no matter what cams are used. You need lots of air to make them work...something a stock head and small lift cams will not provide.
  7. Throttle position sensor
  8. Using just plastigage and nothing else is folly in the extreme...i understand exactly what you were saying and also what you have just said above. Im assuming the tunnels and the journals must have been measured on different equipment or even different days? It didn't sound right to me but that was the excuse he provided to the customer. A quick check of mic. calibration with the setting bars is also a good idea each time it is pulled out of the case as well. the engine in question had a huge knock on startup...big mistake that could have been easily picked up.
  9. mic first...plasti second. yep thats right...i measure twice...using each method. I know of an engine that failed very recently that would have been saved if the builder used this method, as the plastigage would have picked up the huge error in his micrometer. its just a good double check of the micrometer measurements and its not as inaccurate as one may think if used correctly.
  10. i am speaking of a particular brand...thats why i said 'correct'
  11. i used to use one of these... http://www.carel.com/carelcom/web/eng/cata...mp;id_mercato=3 fully programmable outputs to operate intercooler water spray etc...
  12. i know how to get them to fit...gotta think outside the square though.
  13. retail is around $2200 before freight, taxes and import duty...id say close to $3600 landed. horsepower rating...lots. Ive personally seen them pushing over 200hp per rod.
  14. FPCM = Fuel Pump Control Modulator. The earth can be grounded behind the drivers side boot trim as it runs up here to the rear drivers side under the trim where the FPCM lives. Doing this wont give the pump 13.5V but it will run it so it will behave at idle. The factory wiring drops up to 2V with the increased load of running the larger fuel pump but in some cases ive seen it as low as 10.5V with the earth wire mod. done.
  15. its a cost to produce/store/market/freight vs profit equation. unless the right hand side of this equation is substantial for a low units per annum seller its not worth it.
  16. cut the earth going to the pump from the FPCM and attach it to a suitable earth somewhere on the chassis/body.
  17. These pumps need 13.5V to operate properly. Did he wire in a new voltage feed and relay for the new pump? The std wiring has a resistor circuit that is switched in at idle...starving the pump of voltage and starving your engine of fuel. lol at the AFM people...he says it runs fine whether cruising or boosting so why say its the afm when it appears to be metering the air nicely.
  18. Fixed...don't forget Trish mate...she a classic.
  19. please pm thanks
  20. id say the tune is well past MBT.
  21. ahh bugger...if sale falls through ill give you $80 delivered
