  1. Yeah Stuie, deep in my heart of hearts i knew the car wasnt capable of a 9 with the 2530's...not with a synchro box anyway...they simply cannot be shifted quick enough. The car needed more MPH and less weight to cope with the handicap of the box. Losing 100kg out of the car and the addition of more revs and more power from this new engine has made the world of difference. I am still running a "garden variety" Power FC so i have no "two step" ignition cut on launch, so to 60' a 1.44 without one is simply unbelieveable (its the second fastest GTR 60' in Aust) on radials. So Mark Jacobsens prediction of 9.7 seems on the money when the car is properly set up and a few more passes under my belt. that 9 was run on my 23rd full pass of a drag strip. this is the only RH9 car that has used low mount turbo's and has beaten kiwi Arthur Eyre's all time world mark of 10.17 for a "bolt on turbo" GTR.
  2. great work...were you not the same guy i was chatting to in the staging lanes?? thats why i called out to you...and yes...i was pretty stoked.
  3. thanks guys Wow what an eventful evening.... only two passes, still having trouble keeping belts on it. Looks like the alternator has not been installed correctly as it does not appear to be in line with the balancer and water pump pulley. ok 1st pass only used 20psi and launched to a 60' of 1.5sec, i didn't shift the car too well and when the alternator/water pump belt came off at 3/4 track rolled though at 128 MPH and ran a 10.5. had to get towed back to the pits...not a great start to the night. We worked in the pits to try a few things to get the pulley's to line up properly and found the bottom of the alternator that attaches to the block not tightened...damn! Bolted it up properly, re-installed the belts and went out to have another run. 2nd pass turned the boost up to 25psi got it to really hook up off the line... 1.44 60'. The 1st to 2nd shift was also pretty neat (for my standard anyway) so when the belt flew off again at the top of 2nd (just past 1/2 track) i thought fu(k it and grabbed 3rd and kept my foot into it. Keeping my eye on the Power FC hand controller water temp reading (i have no water pump) and the other on the finish line went through the traps with the water temp reaching 87deg, but fortunately stopping the clocks at 9.998 secs with a MPH of 137.26. Unfortunately had to be towed back to the pits again, but the 9 was in the bag. Big thanks to Jim Souvas and Croydon Racing for providing us with a monster engine and an awesome tune. After speaking with Jim this evening he is confident that there is a lot more to come with this set-up. LTSjayce from Canberra gave me an envelope some time ago that was only to be opened in the event of a 9 sec pass..... it contained two RH9 stickers... they were put on in the pits while enjoying the moment with a few of the SAU boys.
  4. if no more buyers by friday ill close batch down and send out.
  5. Thanks mate...ran an easy 10.4 the other nite short shifting it with 20psi. Going to feed a bit more boost into it and rev it a bit more now i know its running straight and the engines fine. Anyway enough of my car...this is your thread! you have PM
  6. Kane do you mean oil drains or oil and water feeds?
  7. I use a toggle switch to override the relay circuit (you must use the toggle switch to start the car as a motor thats not running does not have oil pressure ). We use a 20psi hobbs switch. Once again Richard you are on the money. DiRTgarage can produce a kit form of this system with all parts and full installation instructions if there is enough interest. They will be made with the same high quality of the 2WD/4WD switch looms we already produce. What do you guys think ? (there is some obvious interest) Russ...sorry to whore your thread...but you guys can have one free of charge...hell ill even install it...it will only cost you guys a return plane ticket to come over and see you guys compete.
  8. thanks guys...4 units left in this this batch. Who else wants one?
  9. ill be there wednesday night to run our car again...ill be running it a little harder too...with a bit more boost.
  10. i run a hobbs switch (monitoring oil pressure) that triggers two relays...one to cut fuel the other ignition when low oil pressure is seen. It saved our last engine when the oil pump disintergrated. Well done on the progress guys...I suppose you and Mark are giving Tsukuba a hammering on Gran Turismo 4
  11. aww c'mon, agree'd there is lots of chrome, candy paint and car stereo's...but there is cool cars that enter too. each other...for points, trophy's etc prize money and cred and yes...hello
  12. Ive donated to your bank account earlier...now im having a beer for ya. all the best mate
  13. Will make up to 500 AWKW on pump fuel with the right bits to compliment them. and more reponsive than a T04Z GL with the sale
  14. MCR...ohh yeah...our favorite car MCR R34 GTR track weapon!
  15. 4 to go..!!
  16. Id only use Ben at Racepace if i lived down there.
  17. :laughing-smiley-014: :laughing-smiley-014: :laughing-smiley-014:
  18. We made 404AWKW at Croydon's on pump with them, 467RWKW on VP103 at Powercruise, 460AWKW at Croydon's on C16. So yes over 400 is possible on pump, the head work was only a mild port and knife-edge on the inlet and a quick polish on the exhaust...nothing major. "The head work, block prep is all a secret art that very few are good at." I was responsible for the block prep and what was done to the head on our old engine so ill take that above comment as a compliment from you Ash.
  19. shit i need the block (for customer) let me know steve if they don't pay for it/want it
  20. Ill tell you what all the hype is.....HKS 2530's 460 AWKW and 10.3 @ 134 MPH.... HKS GT-RS 490 AWKW @ 25psi and an easy 10.4 @ 137 MPH on 20psi pump fuel. Try doing that with ya garrets!! our 2530 set up was pretty much the same as your list except we used stock rods and tomei 260 deg camshafts. the switches are great...i just have to remember to toggle mine back to 4WD when racing as it tends to light the rears up launching 400+kw at 9000rpm.
  21. ill only say two words (if they are words) to you jippa GT-RS and GT-RS BTW we made over 400kw on HKS 2530's but had to squeeze them a little. GT-RS's will do 400 (ours are making 500 at 25psi) walking in the park and still leave you the response of low-mount twins. The person who convinced you of going single is not your friend or your cars.
