  1. Dont believe everything you read. I think Nismoid's comment a few posts back is one to consider. For example even on our engine...just changing the turbo's only was not a good comparison between 2530's and GT-RS's..... the cam profiles and engine capacity were a perfect match for one set-up....and a missmatch for the other. We struggled to make over 460 AWKW with the new turbo's due to missmatched components so you have to look at the entire package before turbo's are selected for each application....and more importantly budget.
  2. your in luck....here's one i dug up (literally)...its got coffe spilt on it but its still legible. the pink line is cam timing set at zero the red is optimum cam timing....notice the gains without comprimising bottom end power and torque
  3. its pretty close...it would be closer if you joined the "knee"(where the stock turbo arrow is pointing) of the stock graph and the knee of your curve with a straight line, as from memory they were almost equal with the stockers and walked away from them at the knee. You have them coming on way too hard with your vertical line, 2530's don't come on like that...GT-RS turbo's and big singles do though. And yes apoligies for the "wank factor" graph but its the only one i had available to me here at home. Note...all the Willall runs were in 2WD mode.

  5. ill post a few up BTW 2530's are ballbearing...when my rear one failed, guess what i found in my sump??....ballbearings.
  6. boost threshold...there is now a 1000rpm hole in my torque curve...ie. similar power and torque as before but 1000rpm later...but in saying that, we made more power but later on in the rev range and still climbing at 9500rpm. I don't want to rev the guts out of it to make the similar numbers as before and the off the line torque of the 2530's is now gone. Dropping it at 8500rpm-9000rpm off the line is bogging the car on launch...instead of 1.4 60' times with instant throttle response and the tyres on the limit of grip.
  7. We have GT-RS turbo's and will change back to 2530's if i can't overcome the lagginess (is that a word) of them. Larger capacity seems the only answer.....or a shot of gas off the line to spool them up quicker. mark99 our car is drag only so may be a candidate for your crank upgrade.   9. yeah Jimbo Good on you, I'm good thanks. Goin' great guns staying off the darts. Only had 3 pieces of gum today. I feel like I've really given up. The worst thing is the smell of smoke on people. Had a frend at my place on Sat and she would go outside for a smoke.......when she came back inside it would stink the house out....................Think it will take me a long time to get over that. I really feel sorry for my family now, that I made them put up with my selfish habit for so long. I think I need to buy a new handbag, as evertime I open it the old stale tobacco smell hits me in the face......YUK! Remember....."SMOKING IS THE DEVIL" STACE
  10. Simple...once you pull the engine out. My tip...if the thing is seeing work (i.e. track or drag) pull the engine and freshen it up with new bearings, rings, rod bolts etc...do your oil and water pumps and you will see the engine live a happy thrashing day after day. If you dont do it beforehand you will later (when it fails) and may break you budget a lot harder.
  11. Spot on Ash We made over 460awkw a couple of weeks ago on stock rods...just make sure they are serviceable and suitable aftermarket rod bolts are used. Ive never heard of an RB26 stock rod failure due to its weakness, generally its another cause that causes it to fail.

  15. Yes we have a balance pipe between the two intakes but it was there all the time, the two intakes are of different length. He almost tuned the shuffle out of the GT-RS turbo's now fitted and is confident of having it sorted once we put the balance pipe between the two exhaust manifolds.

  17. Can't give you a definate answer on that one, suffice to say the car was a little frustrating to drive beforehand and smooth as factory after. Give Croydon's a call and chat to Jim about it, as im sure he could explain what he did to the tune to overcome it.
  18. No need to panic, it can be tuned out to run like a dream. Mine did the same until Croydon Racing took over the tuning of the car. Powering up hills on light throttle is no longer a problem.
