  1. pressure is just the resistance to the flow of oil...simple stuff really.
  2. he's got no idea...its the bearing clearance that dictates the thickness of the oil layer. Marko 120psi is the bypass pressure of the relief valve...again the bearing clearance and oil feed restrictions will dictate what the oil pressure will be at a given RPM.
  3. a short between the collector and emitter of the transistor will do the same (transistor cannot be switched off). Id be checking the circuit for the ground side of the primary winding from the coil pack through the no.6 transistor. A constant trigger signal off no.6 ignition driver out of the ecu will do the same (transistor always on)
  4. so many on here would fail to accept this is actually possible...yes it was hard for them to fathom that something designed, engineered and built this century could actually be better than a similar product from last century. Engine control is phenomenal...the Vi-PEC made my power fc look like a bucket...but i must admit i used to be an 'FC Fanboi' too.
  5. Oversize valves sure makes it a hell of a lot easier to pick the seat up after fitting new guides...especially if the head has done a few miles and/or its been reco'd before...also makes the port job more effective and allows a nicer bowl shape.
  6. thanks Luke...ill give you a call next week.
  7. nothing yet...arrive back in qld on monday and ill start sorting a few things out that should see some good gains. Nothing crazy the set-up will be pretty much the same as i believe now all the car needs is a few tweaks...we are going to try a few things in regards to fuel, boost control and suspension.
  8. hitting the track in 2 weeks...a few little mods. should be quick.
  9. ahh yes i have benn following this on the uk site. Id take it to a specialised brake manufacturer and have it bored with a larger piston fitted. A friend of mine did this when he was using a Nismo slave cylinder.
  10. i think he may mean slave cylinder anyway Dan. The 'offset bolt holes' bit did it for me.
  11. the Vi-PEC ecu has 4 dip switches...they swap trigger 1 and 2 over...swap 41 and 51 and 42 and 52 and see if that fires her up.
  12. we buy the whole fillet 2.5kg...coat in olive oil...roll in cracked pepper and sear and seal on a hot bbq grill for a few mins either side. Then bake in the oven on a low heat for an hour. sensational!!
  13. stem seals and if you have to spend the cash cam cap studs.
  14. i have all of these except cam is only inlet and manifold is stainless Jap one...you are after 6 boost so doesnt suit...have to chase exhaust cam... EDIT: just checked cam is only 256...so no good again. the plenum has throttle body as well. ill have to work you out a price Luke.
  15. Ill see Gonzo on Monday if that helps...what does he need ?
  16. ive made 467AWKW with the above combo...HKS 2530's though. Was my wifes daily driver and occaisional drag car that she won a National title in in 2004. im running a stock block and crank in the latest engine making just over 1000hp at the flywheel. Godzilla Motorsport made 1250AWHP with a stock block and crank...i helped strip the engine personally and i can tell you first hand it was definately stock Nissan stuff. Your bores are a little small though...lol
  17. thats the only way i test them...is there another way?
  18. Ill take you on in the work truck...Turbo Ford Courier with the wastegate line folded over...bbbooooosssssttttttt!!!!!!
  19. Ohh c'mon mate...you know...we have talked about this.
  20. Dave ive got a nice twin scroll turbo here on the shelf. Its a little larger than what you have now that you can borrow for a 'suck it and see' test session if you like. Come pick it up if interested.
