Thanks for the reply Adam, appreciate your acknowledgement of my right of opinion. Lets try and sort this crap out as Sport Compact in general seems to be getting the short end of the stick as far as WSID is concerned. Shane 1JZ-747 suggested we all turn in to knuckle-dragging V8 bone heads or move to Willowbank, neither of those options appeal to me. This facility is owned by the tax payers of NSW (State Government) not the "management comittee" apointed to run it. I suggest drafting a letter to the Minister of Sport and Recreation enlightening them to the going's on out there and the constant battle we have persuing out sport of choice. Enough is enough!

great idea...count me in for that.

Oh so a GTR N1 is an unsafe vehicle cause it does not have ABS. C'mon Mark have a think about it. Yes the seat rule is silly but until it is removed i will be keeping my Bride seat in (its heavier than a stocker). -

I totally got your point SK...but did you get mine?? i can appreciate that a R32 gts-t is somewhat disadvantaged...but you must appreciate that not all rules suit all people. The rules are being looked at all the time and some massaging of the rules will always be required to maintain parity. -

I like the class and built my car to adhere to the rule book....like bu5ter i say if you don't like it, either apply for rule changes, comply or don't race.....simple. This remember is an entry level class for people to race in...designed as a stepping stone to sport mod. which is a stepping stone to Pro rwd. Run ultra light "big cars" in this class and i believe you will kill off the "grass roots" of the sport....which at the moment is so desperately needed. -

I totally agree SK, the reason for the seat rule is they want to keep the class for "street cars" i.e. standard glass (no lexan) door trims, hood lining, all working controls (indicators, headlights etc). They did not want a class full of stripped out race cars dominating events. They should change the seat rule to standard equipment for passenger seat if they dont match. They could have saved me $1700 for a matching Bride bucket. The weight rules dont advantage R32 GTS-t's but they do favor cars like big powered supra's and Bu5ter's 33 if they run close to the minimum. If you cant make the minimum weight run the car in ET bracket (2rismo did this at Compak Attak) or add weight to the car. Lobby Jason O'halloran at ANDRA who is responsible for the catergory for the rules to be changed...i wish you luck. -
hear hear, ive already pm'd Adam regarding this subject and was surprised by his response in this thread. I always appreciate the work he does for us regardless of whether or not it got called off.

Thanks blk, if they went back and actually read what was said instead of jumping on their high horse and mouthing off. I had an opinion that i thought that they could have waited longer and/or even consulted the people who paid (the drivers) for the track before making there decision. Only my opinion, it may not be yours, but shouldn't be ridiculed by "executive comittee" and their hangers on about it.

two cars disobeyed/ignored or failed to read the rules in relation to seats. Another car had a side exiting open exhaust. Officials failed to act on all of these cases by letting these three compete in the elimination rounds. They had knowledge of all three breaches of the rule book. -

The rules are only there for honest competitors to follow...as at Jamboree three out of the top 4 qualifiers (sportRWD) were running illegal cars and were still allowed to compete. Figure that one out! -
I wrote in "hindsight", not talking about the decision made on the day. Our formula ford driver was competing at the A1 grandprix...he confirmed with us late Sat afternoon that it didn't rain all day. Not having a go at anyone here just voicing my opinion....which having cost us $805 (not including car prep.) for nothing, i think im entitled to.
-
WTF??? what was so "offensive" about that...am i not entitled to my opinion. Just because i have a differing point of view to you, (a lot of people agree with what i said just dont have the spine to speak their mind) does not mean i cannot voice it...this country is a democracy and premotes free speech does it not?. Grow up Adam and stop being so bloody "precious". ps.i did use the word hindsight...and it also tells me it didnt rain at 11o'clock...actually it didn't rain all day
-
how unfortunate....in hindsight a hasty decision to cancel the day on the 5th....please forward full refund when it becomes avail.(two drivers)
-
bump
-
chirps 2nd??
-
If the club has erred...and more funds are required to make this day possible...swallow your pride and just ask....as i am willing to put in....just wanna race!
-
we WILL be back for this guys (racing on the 17th at wsid)...so Speers Point to Soldiers Point......could call it the Point to Point cruise....lol
-
actually its a 6-7hr trip for us to attend....children need to be minded....hotels booked...tilt-tray or trailers need to be booked etc. We need as much notice as possible, unforunately its not just a matter of packing the car and heading out to WSID for the day. but...yes a 9 before christmas would be nice!
