  1. this is all a bit silly....look. Forged pistons, ARP rod bolts, Tomei 260 cams, Nitto oil pump, ACL bearings and a gasket kit is all you need to buy new. re-size the conrods, overhaul the head, bore and hone the block. 467 AWKW .... 10.34 @ 134 and i skimped on the oil pump and bought an N1 (Nitto were not around then) 20K...lol If i charged 20K for a 400KW engine id either be walking around with a stocking on my head or sipping Pina Colada's in the Bahamas.
  2. Jim Berry close thread/
  3. the little black duck was awesome...well done mate...top stuff. that run was definately one of the straighter ones ive seen you do. feel free to post up the drifter one.
  4. are GTS-t ones aluminium like GTR's...i think not. im sure i left a note under your wiper with my phone number on it Dave...but it was windy that day and could have blown away. I was perving on a hot pair of fine tits and got a little distracted...sorry.
  5. yes...was its pass with the car shifting properly, went into 4th like a hot knife into butter. I dont press anything other than the accelerator pedal when going through the traps...this back off when in front or pressing the brakes before the traps shits me. I should have given myself a little more headroom with the dial-in...i first decided to dial 9.47 a 1/10th quicker than my PB which was 9.57...but changed to 9.50. So it wouldn't have mattered either way. Next event ill have more of an idea and be able to bracket race it a bit better. Smashed him at the tree with a 0.02 reaction and the race was over at 1/2 track...he should have bought me a beer for letting him win.
  6. I run a JUN pump on mine...ive been smashing it off the limiter for a few years and now the anti-lag. I wont be running an OEM style pump on my engine when i pull it for a freshen...external is the way to go. For all my tough street builds i exclusively use Nitto...the best.
  7. todays top post...i lol'd
  8. Like the guy at work who didn't service his Pajero (company vehicle) for 70000klm. 2 days after work demanded he get it done imediately the engine seized with the new oil in it.
  9. Terry tells me its sometimes a spigot bearing worn that makes 4th crunch. He has done rebuilds for people only to have the new box crunch also...only to find a worn spigot when box is removed. Guys when the box is out replace the spigot bearing. My new PPG dogbox even crunched into 4th...we replaced the clutch and spigot...still did it. Only to replace the shifter the next day and fixed it.
  10. Mark ran 9.38 with the same set-up (turbo kit and box) with 100whp more using the clutch to shift gears. Changed to flatshifting and went to 9.0...so at least 1/10th saved on each shift as well as the added momentum gained with the increase in MPH. The maths looks to be in my favour for a high 8...but theory doesn't always carry into practice easily.
  11. king...lol...queen maybe?...i still shift like a girl. do you like my new launching sig. below?
  12. hey they sponsor my racecar so i mention them where i can...lol did somebody say Vi-PEC ?
  13. 9.4 on 29psi turned it up 3 psi and blew the tyres off it (smoked all four right through 1st and part through 2nd) but still ran 9.7. Tyre pressures were a little high and the suspension needs tweaking before we can run more power. Its scary to think we have around 6-7 psi up our sleeve which equates to around 130hp at the tyres. Ive discussed a custom rear cradle with a supplier today with adjustable pick-up points which may be handy. the 60' times on 29psi ranged from 1.39 all the way down to 1.36. Lots of fun
  14. you can with the v88...its only the plug-in boards that have this feature missing.
  15. Hi Octane Racing id guess
  16. JWAuto are doing CNC brackets...their work is incredible...the same CNC machinist 888 Racing use. Top shelf stuff. They are doing the brackets in a kit only though...im doing a group buy on them as soon as they are ready. I saw one of their VL CNC'd rocker covers to suit single cam engines running roller rockers...porno! Ill see if i can get a pic.
  17. i lived there for 3 months recently and loved it...would move up if i had the opportunity to. my mrs isn't real keen on it...she says the city lacks culture.
  18. pretty successful trip up north...in the last 2 weeks have ran a couple of 9.7's a 9.6,9.5 and a 9.4. Its getting faster everytime i take it out which is what its all about. have a safe trip home guys, all the best with the car and hope to see you back next year.
  19. Cheers Mr Lith...9.45 on its 1st pass with the right shifter in it was great. Lots of fun to drive. i think it was 182...ill see him at the shop in the morning to find out more details.
  20. no conspiracy theory...Mark was simply busy helping out everyone else get their cars ready over the last month. He has generously put others first before even considering his own car.
  21. just trying to get some confidence back with the driveline. Going to start flatshifting into 4th next time out which will bring the MPH up and help the ET. Flatshifting right through them (1st to 4th) at high power and rpm requires a lot of maintenance, due to 3rd and 4th ratio's being very close it will assist the time and MPH without being to harsh on the dogs.
