  1. the difference is incredible...gone from a notchy box that wont shift at high rpm to something that is so smooth that you can shift with confidence. Now ive got to learn to stop using the clutch to pick up a few 10ths to get it running 9 flat.
  2. Fixed the shifting problem...dogboxes do not like c's short shifters. Thanks to Paul Ruzic for tracking me down a stock shifter at 9.30 last night and Rajon for opening his shop at 7.30 this morning so i could pick it up...top stuff guys. Ran a new PB of 9.45 @ 142.7 with also a new 60' PB of 1.36 in the afternoon with more boost on board ran 9.7 @ 144 but turned the tyres right through 1st gear hurting the ET. Congrats to Mark Jacobsen on winning the class and running a new PB of 7.7 in the semi final. Big thanks to the Godzilla team for their help with the car.
  3. I watched a vid of the earlier 9.7 run and it torched the tyres hard (1.6 60'). The tyres were green as they were brand newies swapped from the front but now they have been scrubbed up the 1.3's are back. did you see the 9.6? some of the guys saw sparks flying out from under the car in the deep end as i was battling the box.
  4. still cant change gears and still ran 9.6 at a shitty 127 MPH. the car in the other lane ran 9.6 @ 148...a good run will see a low 9 from those stats...im pissing off the c's short shitfter and putting a stocker in it as they apparantly are no good in dogboxes. ran a new 60' PB of 1.371 see what happens tomm. eh
  5. yes just remove the cams and then buckets...look inside the buckets and there will be the shim.
  6. payment cleared and pump sent today...should have it friday
  7. mostly comes from a certain mix of people on here who have been here for years and run or think they show. ill help ya out mate...if you need anything feel free to email me (its in my sig)
  8. Andre, if you haven't realised if you make a bold statement on here it seems to upset people easily. It must be the stupid aussie tall poppy syndrome. Well done on the results guys...top stuff. Paul
  9. lol Brad...id say you have a billet flywheel...not the fractured cast item that decided to exit stage left.
  10. no tough talk here...just lots of experience. Launching on a drag strip and launching anywhere else is not even the same sport. Im yet to have a driveline issue launching. Matt took his Red R prepped street GTR to the drags recently...shocking 60's until he used a limiter launch technique. But yes your technique is the go if running stock or small turbo's on regular tarmac.
  11. please pm
  12. on the balance tube on the inlet side of the engine.
  13. coilovers allow the car to sit flatter on launch...i gained 60' times going back to coilovers. I had my stockers revalved with 90/10 fronts and 60/40 rears and had trouble keeping the front wheels on the track...so they were shelved. You want about 1mm toe in both sides and positive camber in the rear so you gain contact patch when it launches. Best thing to do is change/test/measure until you see maximum contact patch on the road. Get a nice high ride height with the coilovers and set them with soft bump hard rebound in the rear and the opposite in the front and it should 60 nicely for you. Dom should know what tyre pressures to run with the weight of your car...im not giving all the game away for you...lol hope this helps...all the best
  14. Im glad Stace is not coming with me to Jambo... my technique netted me 60' times of 1.38 and 1.37 back to back last week so i must be doing something right. Ive always been 60'ing quicker than the street tyred cars in the HPI list (except MJ)...all cars there had more power and less weight than me too. John Munro had his clutch line fitted with a line lock kit...he would depress the clutch, press the line lock button on the steering wheel activating the solinoid, lift off the clutch, and take his finger off the button releasing the solinoid to drop the clutch on launch.
  15. auto or manual? do some testing measuring the contact patch marks on the road....this is how i did it...the result... 1.37 60' with less power than you will have. basic principles in setting up a 4wd drag car are the same...its the fine tuning that nets the final result...no two cars are the same. good luck with it.
  16. My wife was driving (maybe she got a little scared in the deep end) p.s. please dont tell her i said that...lol
  17. off the limiter and sidestep it. thats how my wife used to launch with around that power. She did 1.690 60' time and ran 11.9 @ 121 with Federal 595 road tyres. 6500rpm is not allowing the shaft speed of the turbo's to be high enough when the rev's drop on clutch bite. Just give it a couple of pops of the limiter and drop it. You will have to keep the hand on the shifter as its a quick change into 2nd with a STD gearbox.
  18. good to see another leco engine builder. Funny how the only problem was an electrical one. well done mate.
  19. i wouldn't run either oil in your gearbox if its a servicable unit. Castrol Syntrax is what you should be using. Id only put Redline Lightweight shockproof in a worn gearbox thats difficult to shift as a temporary measure until box is rebuilt.
  20. im running 1000 engine horsepower with 2 x 044's and using 1 x 040 as a lift pump.
  21. they were $1650 inc GST when i bought one for our circuit GTR. That was a while ago but price should be around that mark.
  22. These three are my top 3 in Sydney CRD Unigroup JEM
  23. swap for 2000 black Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited...Black 4.7ltr V8 top of the line with leather and woodgrain interior. would be great pimp mobile slammed on 22's
