back up for grabs guys...just had full service by Currumbin Diffs in QLD and now shifts like butter. It has had two street meets since service and the guys who did the overhaul obviously know what they are doing as its incredibly slick. Our custom 4130 billet shifter with 4 load sensors and top of the line ignition cut controller interface (same as what HRT uses) is also available as an add on for an additional $1200. This allows for fully programmable clutchless full throttle shifts.

Two.06l Update (twoogle)

Here's a little something i knocked up today...weighs a ton! and used 2 meters of 6mm x 200mm flat bar (mild steel) But its minimum legal size so can only trim the mounting tabs after trial fitting. From ANDRA General Regs 4.2.6 Flywheel Shields / Bell-housing All other clutch equipped cars running quicker than 11.00 (1/4 mile) / 7.00 seconds (1/8 mile) are required to use a steel or titanium bell-housing or shield. A totally enclosing 360 degree, one-piece bell housing must be formed or fabricated entirely from 6mm (1/4 inch) steel plate and attached directly to the rear of the engine. Where used, flywheel shields must be constructed so they completely surround the clutch failure. The shield should be constructed from 6mm (1/4 inch) steel plate, and extend forward to a point at least 25mm (1 inch) ahead of the flywheel, and 25mm (1 inch) to the rear of the clutch and pressure plate. Shields must not be bolted to the bell-housing and should attach securely to the frame /chassis. All shields or bell-housings must be removed from the vehicle for checking during the Technical Inspection. An engine support strap made of steel or aircraft cable (chain not accepted) capable of supporting the rear of the engine in case of bell-housing failure is required on all cars, unless it is evident that the headers or frame rails will prevent the engine from dropping. Be aware that Ballistic Blankets are NOT legal. -

Why do you need to run a swirl pot if the tank has foam? Id run the 2 x 044's straight off the tank (with pre-filters of course).

Two.06l Update (twoogle)
Swiper the Fox replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
CRD's commitment to the car knowing that there is just one event to get it right is incredible. Opened the shop so i could work on the car all day today. Jim made up a list of what he requested to be installed/changed and with the help of a mate we got to work. Still quite a bit to do with only a week to go...but we are determined to get the car 100% before Sunday. Their additude and professionalism is of the highest standard...a real pleasure to work with. -
Two.06l Update (twoogle)

The car performed reasonably well at a closed test session at Sydney Dragway on Monday...most of the day was spent trying to get some reliable data out of the car and testing the new suspension. On the first full pass it easily ran 10.1 @ 140 with quite a large lift-off straightening the car at the top of 1st gear with the data telling us the car lost around a second. Its got a lot more torque now and is a bit of a handfull but further suspension tweaks this week have the car running straighter instead of trying to drive me into the wall. Full day at CRD today perfecting the set-up so its a little easier on the driver and installing a few more goodies in the car. Big thanks to Jim and Con at CRD who have worked tirelessly on getting it ready for the 28th. -

simple Marko... full 12 counter vs 8 counter crankshaft...Nitto wins. i beam conrods vs h beam conrods...Nitto wins. 22mm thick walled pins vs 21mm thin walled pins...Nitto wins. JE piston blanks machined by Nitto to exacting tolerances vs pistons that often need pin ends counterdrilled to get them to balance...Nitto wins. JE ring package is regarded as the best in sealing and oil control in the market...Nitto again. Thats without not mentioning oil pump etc... It was a no brainer for me really. I think that Nitto's best engineered product is actually their headgaskets. Incredible seal compared to anything else available. -

Jun auto has been long regarded as the finest machine parts for the Japanese tuning scene for years. If you were going to produce the finest parts you would take what is regarded as the best...and improve it. Nitto have done just this...it makes excellent business sense. Find the best of each product (whoever the manufacturer may be) and see how it could be re-engineered to be better. This is precisely how all the Japanses tuning shops do this using the original Nissan parts. If you have actually seen in person the Nitto product, actually compared them to Jun and most importantly understand where each products strengths and weaknesses lie, you would always chose the Nitto item. Go and see for yourself...ill be there on Saturday and are quite prepared to allow some time to show you a few things. -
