  1. dont waste your money, SAFC is a bandade on a broken leg. Put up with it and save your money for a PFC. SAFC's tended to get on the unsafe side of things, No ignition timing can be changed so the standard ECU does whatever it wants with the ignition which can cause flat spots anyway.
  2. agree whole heartedly with that.
  3. Please tell me the motor is built lol I've decided to Mod my manifold to house an external gate, keeping the .63 rear with the gt35r from cover and wheel...I really like the power delivery with this one. I can flat foot it off the line in first and it accelerated enough just before it breaks traction and that's what i wanted. Thanks for your info whatsisname, Ill keep you posted on how it all goes
  4. Thanks for the info guys, For now i think im going to wire the Internal Gate shut, Mod my manifold to house an external gate and still use the .63 rear. I like it at the moment how i can cruise around at the moment like everything is normal but flat foot it off the line in first and it doesn't break traction. If the .63 generates too much heat ill put an external gate rear .82 housing on the turbo and keep it that was until i wack it on a 3L. Thanks for the Info.
  5. so many options...hehe thanks for the info..will keep you posted.
  6. what sort of boost levels were you using donutkng?
  7. yea meh, as long as i get what i want at the end of the day, doesn't phase me. lol Whatsisname, you think a gt30 front wheel and cover with the .63 would kind of eliminate enough flow to keep boost levels at a sensible level?
  8. Yea but im sure that rb30 was build to handle 30+Psi lol Can front wheels and covers be swapped over like rear ones?
  9. Would changing the front housing and wheel back to a gt30 spec front resolve any of this overboost problems.. If anyone has a GT30 with a .63 rear housing on an rb25 please elaborate
  10. yea it's a garrett.. Im heading towards selling the turbo and getting a GT3082r. so much less headfuuk and will be able to keep my setup as is, eg Dump, manifold etc...all the while keeping it as stealth as possible.
  11. your thoughts are good R31nismoid. what a waste of 2+g's lol
  12. i should have gone the GT3082r way instead. Much more useable.
  13. what front housing is infront of this .82?
  14. Sounds very simular to my last setup lee....good fun setup Now, my boost starts building around 3500 and feels strong at 4200 lol...
  15. yea i assumed the 3L would need a .82...Im not too concerned about that just yet as that's a fair while away. I want to get this layout fairly good first. Anyone's thoughts on External gates welded onto Exhaust housing of turbo? My manifold doesn't have a large collection area where i can plumb into it.
  16. looks the goods lee mid range looks good! afr's are perfect, wouldn't expect any less from Martin.
  17. where have you advertised it? depends what you want...a car yard will give you next to nothing. what reasearch are people needing? its a 33 gts4 non turbo tell them that
  18. dont tell us, tell the people who are interested.
  19. It may seem like a stupid turbo choice i know, but i really like the fact i can flat throttle it off the line in first and second and it's just fast enough not to break traction. A 3 litre bottom end will replace this motor once something let's go, Just eager to see how reliable this sort of thing will be. I really wanted to keep the .63 rear housing as i want as much response as i can get my hands on. I've had responsive turbo's now keep for some higher numbers with more aggressive power curves. Any more info on external gate setups will be greatly appreciated.
  20. Perhaps the stupidly ridiculous noise coming out of the screaming is giving you a false feel with your car, i found that in a couple of cars, when the gate opens and its so ear piercingly loud you tend to expect so much more. Plumb it back in and you tend to feel the car pulling rather than hearing it.
  21. ok guys, I've recently fitted a brand new Garret GT3582r with a .63 rear housing with the internal wastegate machined and a much larger wastegate flat added. Fabricated my own Bellmouth dump pipe, which is all mounted on a DMAX exhaust manifold. My problem lies with the wastegate, Had it on the Dyno yesterday and found even the much larger internal gate was wide open with an 8psi actuator but boost was climbing well above 19-20psi and still climbing. I kind of expected a higher boost level than the 8psi actuator but wasn't expecting this much. Being an Unopened rb25det i am trying to keep it sensible. Yes i have checked to see if the dump pipe i made is fouling the wastegate flap and its not. hehe My options are: Either pull the turbo off and fit a .82 rear with an internal gate hoping this will help with the issue but i sacrifice any response i was trying to keep with the .63. Fit an external gate (38-45mm?) to either the DMAX manifold or to the .63 exhaust housing and hope it gives me alot lower minimum boost level. Who has encountered a problem like this and what's the best, cost efficient way of getting around this.
  22. Was it just a power run with all the different fuels or did they analyse burning properties, monitor knock with a chassis ear? you know the real evidence of fuel quality. I usually use ultimate or v-power where i can find it. I find no difference between those two.
  23. His car makes the photo, any other car would ruin it. jelous of that front bar vu.
  24. I drove 3,500 in my car last year and changed coolant, oil, oil filter and whole other bunch of shit 4 times lol Changed timing belt and water pump at 80,000 which was 5,000km ago because i was bored. Wat turbo are you using tangles?
