im having the same problem at the moment.. i changed my plugs last weekend but that didnt help - next step i would take is coils but you say that you have already replaced them thats not very reasuring haha does it have a grinding sound to it? not like a mechanical grind but more of a exhaust grind when the loss of power happens? id be very keen on seeing a answer aswell.. not a good thing to be happening

its a bit of a kick to the nuts.. yeah FLY PSI thats what i hope to do - but i have been told that the RTA wont give you your blacks untill all fines etc are paid for.. they will let you do the test and pass but you have to pay the fine.. i still havnt got a letter in the mail yet so hopefully it can hold off for another few weeks - fingers crossed, touch wood etc

Thanks for that yeah the drive was fantastic, I think as I mentioned I did the drive with a mate, switched the driving every half tank and had lots of fun gave many petrol stations a visit aswell the start of the Hume was a bit rough but overall the roads were great. I haven’t mentioned this previously but on the whole trip we didn’t see one police car, and that’s over 1000km's. but on the very very very last leg of the trip (within 5k's of home) I got pulled over basically the story goes it was my mates turn to drive from Sydney to home, we arrived at his house around 1am and I was just so excited to get home so I just jumped straight in the car and took off. now the problem with that is that im still on my P plates and I forgot to put the p plate on when it was my turn to drive from his house to my house (as I said, about 5k's) I turned 2 corners and I see some new forester headlights in my rear vision mirror. I didn’t really think much of it so I just went on my marry way. after about a kilometer or two I see a faint blue flashing light coming from the forester so I pull over and it obviously turns out to be a unmarked police car. Both of the cops were nice guys - but were pretty set on booking me. First off they questioned me about having no plates - so I explained about my road permit etc, then he questioned me about rego (???) so I just explained my situation again. He then went on to say how I was speeding ( I wont deny it, as I said, I was just pumped to get home) so I said straight up that I know I was speeding. Luckily he explained that he didn’t get me on camera so he couldn’t book me for speeding. Eventually he asked me for my license, all looked good and I thought I would be on my way very soon, after he inspected my license he asked "so are you displaying a p plate?" At that point I was on the verge of crapping my pants, when I got in the car back at my mates house, putting on p plates completely slipped my mind So once again I explained it to him, but he wasn’t really listening, he said he would book me and ill get a notice in the mail... for everyone that isn’t in NSW the fine for not displaying a p plate is something like $195 and 2 points.. what makes it worse is that I only have 1 point left and that im only a month or so away from getting my full license (I got my greens a little late) so its been just over 2 weeks, I haven’t received a letter yet.. So fingers crossed he didn’t process the fine or the stag will be in the garage for 3 months

spotted a silver S1 on thursday night in on the newcastle foreshore, had big chrome wheels and front lip on the same night, same location spotted and met the owner of a dark blue S1, no sunroofs but had leather. was very nice RS4 stag - rofl volvo

hahaha yeah alex told me about how he would drive it around either you guys have some massive balls or Melbourne has some easy laws either way I don’t blame you hahah haha cheers mate, yeah I wan to get some spacers on the front.. fill it out alittle more. The rear wheels fill it perfectly, but the front kit is just so massive. Spacers will be coming very soon thanks mate haha oh yeah? nice, should have said something to me mate! my best mates brother just got a brand spanking new XT forester, when the clock hit around the 17k mark the rear diff blew. replaced the rear diff and center bearings. Iv got about 3 or 4 other mates who have experienced driveline problems in both WRX and forester. all Subaru’s technology is under engineered and too primitive compared to what all the other companies have been doing.. i mean the EJ has been in production for that long its ridiculous. also, the foresters only have a R160 diff, they could fit in a handbag! Apparently Toyota is set to buy out Subaru in the very near future.. it will be interesting to see what comes from this

yeah the STi forester is amazing.. i would have considered getting a GT or XT if they didnt have glass diff's

hmmm doubt its a cracked exhaust manifold, but its worth a check just to be sure, ill do a few checks this weekend yeah? beauty, what a great excuse to get some spitfires haha, just have to save my pennys. i would have thought that a electrical issue would be more consistant then not :| glad to see that someone can put a finger on the problem ill still try and get a movie because its very interesting, might help other people if they have the same problem.. cheers guys

Im gonna start quoting more often because I just realized how easy it is to do on this forum I had a squiz and everything looks/feels as it would have been out of the factory (with the clamps and piping).. it sounds more like a strange exhaust note rather than a intake leak etc.. when it happens its very loud and noticeable.. very deep cheers mate I was considering it might have been a spark or electrical issue but because its so inconsistent im starting to think its more of a turbo issue.. it only has 105xxx k’s so the turbo shouldn’t be throwing bits and pieces out yet, but its not sounding good.. I just wish it would be more consistent so it could be narrowed down a bit :| I might take a movie of it this weekend so I can hopefully capture some of the sound and effect.. yeah mate just saw that in the spotted thread! ahhh i saw you pull up! i was in noodle box grabbing some lunch on my break. i was just about to post up that i saw a very nice white S1 parked at the end of the mall today, glad i can put a car to a name!! haha

well to start off here are 2 new pictures that a mate of mine snapped completely randomly, these are the only ones I have with the new wheels but I think it looks great very happy with them (they fill out the kit better then the pictures show..) but iv run into some problems.. ill do my best to explaining it basically its losing a lot of power up top.. it feels and sounds like the gate is opening prematurely. its not a constant thing – sometimes it will do it, sometimes it wont.. the sound is almost like a very deep/fast flame thrower and it generally starts making this sound/losing power around 3.5-4.5k rpm. Can anyone shed any light on this because its really giving me the shits. Also, uhh.. how do I say this.. I don’t even know if this is heard of, but, I got chopped by a Honda when this happened it was a strange chain of events, first of all the car did a very unusually slow take off the line, then accelerated fairly normally, started to hit boost with a normal feel, got around 4k and started to lose power – but didn’t make the strange sound – But then picked the power back up again.. its very very strange Any help or recommendations would be fantastic and I cant wait to meet some of you at the show n shine in june! Cheers
