R33 Gtst Smic Upgrade To R34 Smic - Results (video & Pics)
QRI05E replied to QRI05E's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Its an off set straight through resonator so that you don't disrupt the flow... but it elimanates the excess noise.... Yea cubes, it spools so smoothly... 10 psi by 3000RPM... before the R34 SMIC it was a sudden rush of boost and nothing down low... its so much better now! Regards, Sarkis -

Hahaha Cubes, i eased it to 4000RPM then gave it a hit... same as the other video... She goes real well compared to many other R33's and R34's that i have raced, some with more mods then mine (EBC, PFC, FMIC) hehe Cheers -
R33 Gtst Smic Upgrade To R34 Smic - Results (video & Pics)

Yep i got a full 3"... Split dump ----> 5" s/steel CAT ----> 3" cat back ------> resonator half way ------> 6" Cannon I love the sound... its just perfect, not too loud and just enough growl to turn heads and let alarms off heheh it was built for performance not noise... 21rw/kw gain on stock boost nothing else was touched.... I used the R34 SMIC Shroud as induction... had to slightly modify it to fit behind the S2 R33 front bar... After a hard thrash (30 min driving) the turbo side of the SMIC was hot and the manifold side was warm/cool... the stock R33 SMIC was all hot after a thrash... made quite a difference... You can actually hear the car rev out real easily in the video and see how it pulls in mid range... I can feel the difference when driving... Regards, Sarkis -

R33 Gtst Smic Upgrade To R34 Smic - Results (video & Pics)

Hey Guys, the video's were recorded in mp4 format and wouldn't upload onto SAU i had to change the file extension to .mpg for it to work... if you guys try and open it into real player they will work.. or download any divx codec pack and will work in windows media player... Just a reply to Nismo God, i am planning for big power in the future, however until i am financially ready for a larger turbo + rebuild + injectors + fuel pump .etc. the R34 SMIC upgrade will give you the full potential out of the stock turbo and setup... these SMIC's have been known to hold anything up to 14psi and 200 - 230rw/kw which is more then the stock turbo, injectors and fuel pump will ever handle... so in my opinion, full exhaust + boost control + R34 SMIC + PFC will give you the maximum and most reliable tuned power out of a stockish R33... and wont break the bank.. Not to mention will not give you any issues with the boys in blue as a FMIC would Cheers, Sarkis -
Hey Guys, thought to share this with you... i just installed an R34 GTT SMIC onto my R33 GTST and boosted to 10psi + ECU Reset Current Mods: 3" Split dump + 5" S/Steel CAT + 3" CAT back exhaust + Turbotech Results: Car comes onto boost MUCH smoother & revs to redline MUCH easier.. there has been a HUGE increase in pull through out the rev range especially in 1st and 2nd gear... Dyno would be nice, any one offering a free dyno pass? lol Recommendation: Definitely worth the upgrade if you have stock turbo... Proior to this upgrade, the car felt held back and restricted, now the car feels much freer and has noticably unleashed more power... Throws you right back in the seat Note: Prior to the SMIC installation, i flushed it with degreaser/hot soapy water and i couldn't believe the amount of black crap that came out! had to reflush about 4 times before it was 100% clean... then ran warm water though to get rid of the soap/chemical residue... i then stuck an old hair dryer in one end and let it sit there for 30min untill it was drip dry.. worked a treat! Look at the size difference between R33 SMIC Vs R34 SMIC! Here is a couple short videos while driving home tonight, its just to show the smoothness of boost and ease of rev... (excuse the bad footage due to holding my phone while recording and driving) Hope you like! video_0004.mpg video_0003.mpg Regards, Sarkis

Intercooler Pressure Drops & Stock Turbo (r33 Gts-t)
QRI05E replied to Noel's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks guys i appreciate the advise! would be intresting to see if a R34 SMIC makes any difference over the stock R33 SMIC in performance @ 10psi in an R33 with stock turbo and full exhaust.. Regards, Sarkis -
IMO an engine conversion will save you alot of problems in the future as well as give you the potential for higher power goal... RB25DET's can be picked up at a fair price with loom and ECU... Good luck

Im my oppinion, you should try and get quotes to rebuild your current motor. its real hard to determine the condition of 2nd hand engines. I would much rather give a well known performance shop few extra $$$ and end up with near new engine that will last me a long time. Unless your wanting to sell the car, then thats a different story... Theres a workshop in Wetherill Park and he isn't over priced and is very neat in his work... i have seen many of his builds and conversions... www.jdcustoms.com.au give them a visit... Good Luck Regards, Sarkis

Intercooler Pressure Drops & Stock Turbo (r33 Gts-t)
QRI05E replied to Noel's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hey Noel, please keep us posted if you notice any improvments with the R34 GTT SMIC upgrade on your S2 R33... i was thinking to do the same however a full FMIC kit for $350 is hard to beat... Let us know how you go... Regards, Sarkis -
Fs: R34 Gtt Standard Side Mount Intercooler
QRI05E replied to oosx's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Yea i would much prefer a FMIC, look in the traders section there are many FMIC kits selling for $350.. but the R34 GTT SMIC are good upto 12psi and 200rw/kw which is the most the stock R33 turbo will handle too... so i though to throw the SMIC on untill im ready for a larger turbo... BTW, do you still have the intake shroud for the SMIC? $100 cash and i will pick up.. PM me if intrested Cheers, Sarkis -
Fs: R34 Gtt Standard Side Mount Intercooler
QRI05E replied to oosx's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Want a quick sale without the need for posting? $100 and ill pick it up from you... considering a brand new FMIC kit with piping is $350... $100 for a used stock SMIC is fair... PM me if intrested Otherwise good luck with the sale! Cheers -
Fair enough... so what other XXXcc Injectors (that wont break the bank) are suitable for an RB25DET aiming to handle 280 - 300rw/kw??? Cheers
-
Also intrested if these injectors can run on an RB25DET without any issues.. i will be using a PFC to tune... Cheers

Intercooler Water Spray - Trigger Point
QRI05E replied to MearCat's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Another mode for the water spray activation would be to use the ECU earth wire from the stock boost solenoid... you will have spray from 5000RPM till Redline... Just a thought Regards, Sarkis -
Rb25det Neo Running Rough After Plug + Coil Change
QRI05E replied to Bluprint's topic in General Maintenance
Hmmm sounds like what my car done a few months back, turned out to be a bad batch of fuel. I ran a bottle of Nulon Injector cleaner with a full tank of Shell V-Power Racing and problem was solved! As car enthusiast’s we seem to "search" for faults and imperfections in our cars so that we got another task to fulfill... and being a VERY fussy person myself, its the small, insignificant annoyances that get us agitated in the first place. Good luck! Regards, Sarkis -
The bearing is worth $3... the labour is $200 - $250... simply not worth it untill your changing your clutch.. Cheers
-
I just tried it on mine... i disconnected the BOV vac hose and it stalled..
-
HAHAHAHA I see Adam at JEM dyno'ed your car he done mine too before and after my exhaust fit at Liverpool Exhaust... did you see some of those dyno papers on the wall? he is one of the best and most honest tuners i have met! RECOMMENDED A+++ What you get on the dyno and what mods? Nice Wheels BTW, just needs to be dropped a few inches hehe Regards, Sarkis
-
I wouldn't worry about it untill you need to get a whole new clutch... the cost is way more then necessary... it wont cause any harm if u leave it as it is...
-
im pretty sure the engine wont idle with any vacumme hoses disconnected... it will stall... if all hoses are connected, try removing the BOV and make sure the spring isnt jammed or corroded... good luck

I find the fog lights on my SII very useful especially when driving at night, they give me a brighter short distance view not to mention she looks awfully sexy when cruising with the fog n park lights on turns many heads hehe... and to verify, YES it is illigal to have them on in normal driving conditions... (NSW) Cheers

Yea for sure, stock ECU sh*ts itself after FMIC, 10psi+ and exhaust... runs very rich... Aftermarket ECU + tune + new coils will see your car unleash those trapped kw's Cheers
