  1. 0.8mm would be the smallest gap i would run my plugs... In what wat did you notice the car to drive better after the ECU reset?
  2. Thats an impressive power output for such little mods... my completely stock R33 with only a full exhaust and split dump got 165rw/kw (7psi).. ill be putting a FMIC, 10psi and PFC + tune at the end of the year... i hope I hit 200+rw/kw
  3. do a search on split dump pipe and you will see... the split dump seperates the wastegate gas then rejoins about 40cm down the dump... makes big difference to a single bell dump.. i wouldn't go anything bigger then 3" on the exhaust... unless ur running twin turbo or have 400+rw/kw
  4. Its a realistic estimate... that engine does put out 120kw from factory with its restrictive settup... ask any tuner or performance mechanic and they will tell you the potential of this engine... from first hand experiance this thing eats Type-R integra's and Corolla Sprotivos which all have 140kw... it revs to 8000rpm... and the VVT kicks in at 5000rpm... you gotta see it to appreciate its performance.. Even ask NICKS33, he owned one... Cheers
  5. Step 1: 3" Turbo Back Exhaust with split Dump... FMIC on its own wont gain you much if anything at all... Cheers
  6. Use your imagination guys! this car has so much more potential to look and perform better then it already does! I have seen the stunned faces of owners of cars worth 30 and 40Gz being eaten by this machine on the road! And yet you could make it into this.... Or this Regards, Sarkis
  7. No probs... i highly doubt the poping on idle would be caused by the spark plugs... im pretty sure its AFM related...
  8. FOR SALE Toyota Corolla AE82 Engine: 96' 1.6L 4AGE 20V Silver Top (import) serviced every 5000kms Transmission: 5 spd Manual Condition: Absolutely Immaculate Odometer: Approx 120,000kms (motor has only done 80,000kms) Rego: 12 months Reason for sale: Has been given a company car Location: Sydney (Liverpool/Parramatta) Comments: I'm helping sell my friends Toyota Corolla that has been built to perfection! He is selling it due to getting a company car recently. This pocket rocket is a perfect car for any provisional plater due to being naturally aspirated, excellent on fuel and a complete sleeper… of coarse until that car besides you hears you rev all the way to 8000rpm, your tyres scream when you hit 2nd and leave him seeing nothing but your brake lights All the hard work has been done guys! No need for spending $$$ its all been done. Yet has so much more potential for BIG power! Engine Specs The 4AGE silver top is a quad-throttle fed, naturally aspirated monster. In its restrictive factory state, this beast unleashes 161hp (120kw) which is approx 30hp more than Nissan’s SR20DE (100kw) and Toyota’s 1ZZ-FE (93kw) that is in there new corolla. With some fine tuning and less restrictive intake/exhaust, this motor has proven to push close to 195hp (145kw) which is more than the current model Sportivo and Celica! Engine Performance Mods - 96' 4AGE 20 Valve Silver Top (import) - Exedy ceramic sports clutch - K&N panel filter - 2 ¼” Extractors - Custom 2” mandrel bent exhaust - Hiflow 3 way CAT - 4” Cannon Wheels & Suspension - Genuine Toyota TWINCAM alloys - Lowered performance springs - KYB sports shocks - Bendix Sport Pads Entertainment - Clarion CD Player - Pioneer 6” 4-way Speakers - Sony XPlode 12” Sub in genuine box - 4 Channel Amp Interior Enhancements - Genuine Toyota SX Cluster with 8000RPM Tacho - Genuine TRD Race Wheel - L.E.D Volt Meter - Black tint (15%) Exterior Enhancements - Custom Red in 2 Pack - Genuine TRD Badges On Road Performance This car is an absolute pocket rocket! I have witnessed this car annihilate Type-R Integra’s, Corolla Sportivo’s, CRX’s and much more… 145kw + 960kg Car = One quick machine! First to see will buy! Truly one of a kind! Price: $6999 neg Contact: George - 0416 28 11 56 No time wasters! No Joy Riders! Regards, Sarkis
  9. An ECU reset will not cause the car to behave this way unless its an aftermarket ECU... it sounds like an AFM issue... got any mates with an R32 GTR? try their AFM and see how you go... you can also test the AFM by disconnecting it on idle and seeing if the car has any reaction... if the car splutters/stalls then it may not me the AFm.. but if the idle stays the same then you have found the problem.. good luck and keep us posted... Cheers
  10. Yea the Castrol 5W30 will be fine, another decent mid level oil is Valvoline SynPower... just make sure you do regular changes every 5000kms or 3 months which ever comes first... personally i would be using a higher quality full synthetic in any turbo motor such as Royal Purple, Mobil 1, Redline and Motul... Cheers
  11. Have you noticed the idle fluctuating at all?? sounds it could be AFM or injector related... my R33 had slight poping on idle, after i cleaned the AFM its fixed the problem... a mate of mine had the same issue on his R33 GTR and his injectors needed a clean... Cheers
  12. It changed the note of the exhaust due to a smoother idle... no more roughness... it truly made the exhaust sound deeper and cleaner Cheers
  13. Thanks for the offer ECR033, but like i said its not worth spending any money buying a whole cluster for one clip... ill have to do some calling around to a few wreckers.. Cheers
  14. Hey Mark, i just hit 70k and my mods are: - 3" Split dump ---> Hiflow 4" Steel CAT ----> 3" CAT back with resonator ----> 4" cannon Dyno'ed 165rw/kw with every thing else STOCK! (7psi) and misfiring coils... since my dyno i have: - Replaced coil packs - Turbotech set to 9psi it feels that i have gained easily another 10 - 20 rw/kw with the extra boost and fresh coil packs... Next step: - FMIC - APEXi PFC + tune - Pod with CAI I will always use RP for every service... highly recommended! Car feels brand new! Its unbelievable the difference it made... Regards, Sarkis
  15. Ok guys... this morning i put some Royal Purple 10W40 with a new cooper oil filter and this is what i have noticed after 100km/s of driving: - Car idles MUCH smoother and quieter than when using Castrol R and Nuon (comparing to when oil was first changed with both brands) - Car warms up much quicker on cold starts than before - Car starts quicker and easier - Exhaust note on idle is more deep and is not lumpy/poppy anymore - Acceleration feels 100 times smoother and responsive than Casrtol R and Nulon In conclusion, I recommend RP for any RB motor.. over any other oil i have ever used! ROYAL PURPLE A+++ Regards, Sarkis
