  1. Hey Guys... here is a real professional DIY CAI system for under $100! http://quickbrickmotorsports.com/bay19/cai/cai.htm What you rekon??? Regards, Sarkis
  2. FIXED!!!! Tightened the spring tension and it boosts harder then ever!!! No pops.. No back fire... PERFECT
  3. Nuh mine is running perfect... its fully shut on idle and holds boost well... just wanting to know why it has dropped a few psi in boost?? Cheers
  4. LOL i knew you would say such a comment paul...
  5. LOL maybe thats why NICKR33 sold it ... im going to leave it on for now and see how it goes after my FMIC and push the boost to 10psi... Cheers
  6. Hey guys, I just fitted a GFB Hybrid (50% atmo / 50%plumb back) BOV and noticed that my max boost under throttle has dropped by 1 - 1.5psi... is this normal? there are no leaks... i made sure all hoses are tight... even used a gasket between the flanges... and it works perfectly except for the boost drop... i know many of you will say that an aftermarket BOX is a waste of money.. but i got it for a good price thanks to NICKR33... Any thoughts? hints? suggestions? Regards, Sarkis
  7. Hahah nice one Trex, you can even keep your lunch in the engine bay now to keep it warm hahaha thats pretty clever... some of the pics make the CAI look like a stock filter box... thanks for that! Cheers
  8. Kezza, you got the reverse EL dials... 1st there much cheaper then mine... 2nd there too annoying to look at... unless your tyring to turn your car into the ET Space ship...
  9. Does anyone know what brand/model POD are the smallest and would fit into the factory air box?? how big are the Uni-Filters?? Cheers
  10. Hey Guys, has anyone of you fitted a POD into the stock R33 air box? is it big enough?? cause im getting some new ideas!!! hahaha Cheers
  11. For $400 the Gktech FMIC Kit will be MORE then enough for any street powered skyline... the $600 you save will be 2/3 of the price of an Apexi Power FC which you will need if you want your R33 running 100% reliable.. When you go for a full engine rebuild and larger turbo and want to run 20+ psi then yes i would say go for a name brand such as plazmaman, ARC, HKS .etc. but for anything up to 18psi (hi flowed turbo) the GKtech FMIC Kit will be perfect... Cheers
  12. If anything im sure a FMIC will make your car run more rich... whats the size of the core? whats the diameter of the pipes used??? you will need to pump another 2 - 3 psi to feel the power gain... Regards, Sarkis
  13. Since the topic of this thread is to try and find the best possible CAI system, has anyone modified the stock R33/R34 air box to allow maximum air induction??? Please post your pics or links Cheers
  14. Hey Luke, I agree and would LOVE to keep my stock air box, however when the FMIC is fitted the factory snorkel won’t fit anymore due to the crossover pipe... I read a thread on modifying the snorkel to fit but all that’s doing is reducing the air flow capacity… So a enclosed POD with CAI is the best step… besides you can so easily put the factory box back on with no dramas… Would the R32 GTSt Stock air filter box fit into an R33?? Cheers
  15. Hey Andy, Whats the quality on these kits??? Im DYING to get mine in this group buy... Cheers
  16. Yes you are right however the RB25DET takes its boost line from the intercooler piping... Moving on, your symptoms sound like a fuel cut defender 100%... if it were your coils, you would get misfire at even 10psi... besides why would you want to push your turbo to the limit? run it a t a safe 12psi... Cheers
  17. Just a quick question... Would an R32 GTSt Stock air filter box fit into an R33?? Because the R32 uses the lid section to mount the AFM therefore allowing a cold air feed from the bottom half same design on the N14 and N15 Pulsars... Unlike the R33 factory box design the air flow come from the lid… Cheers
  18. ITS NOT THE COILS or SPARK PLUGS!!!! Thats your fuel cut defender!!! stock ECU wont let you boost past 13 - 14 psi... anything above 10psi is risking blowing ur turbo... Cheers
  19. I would appretiate all your ideas guys on different CAI setups in a R33... keep them comming!
  20. You cant cut a hole in the bottom of the stock air box in the R33 cause thats where the AFM draws air from... the air feed is from the lid of the box.. cheers
  21. Take it easy fellas... All Madz is trying to say, that for a stock/light modified car, a manual boost controller will be more then enough to give you the boost level required. Therefore the money saved from buying an EBC you can put it toward an aftermarket ECU which has much more power gain potential... It all comes down to your power goal and application... anything up to 200rw/kw from a R33 a manual boost controller is more then enough as long as its tuned well... Back to the topic... My belief is if the design and construction of the CAI system is hi flowing and seals the POD from the hot air in the engine bay, it will do as good of a job as the $300 setups... How do you think all those performance CAI systems were made?? All by trial and error in some ones garage till they found the best design and put it into production and that’s why the consumer pays so much due to all the time, effort, materials, labeling, packaging and marketing behind the product… Just because something is home made does not make it a poorer quality or 'bodgy'.. Just check out the DIY section.. there are hundreds of threads which will save you $$$ by Doing It Yourself... Cheers
  22. To answer your comment, products such as intercoolers, CAI, bleed valves are all non mechanical and non electrical devices.. How can you justify spending the extra $$$ for the a near identical product that does the same job??? Fair enough the name brands might be bit more appealing in appearance but to compare a CAI costing $50 or spending $300 on a name brand and both do the same job is not logical.. and might i add there is nothing wrong with those $400 FMIC kits and $22 boost controllers.. Cheers
  23. Thats alright then... you can line the inside of the partition/box with thin foam which will reduce the induction noise.. but i love the sound of a skyline comming onto boost lol
  24. Does anyone know the legal side of using a POD in NSW??? is it still a defect if its partitioned/boxed??? Cheers
