  1. How are your head light covers? most plastic types eg. R33 tend to fade and form an oxydation layer.. if your head lights seem dull, try to apply a mild cut/polish onto them and let it dry... then buff hard with clean cloth Hope this helps
  2. Thanks for that John, ill use those methods next time... Using this diagram could some one please circle where the safest points are to place the jack stands? Cheers
  3. ok guys, today i filled my car with a fresh tank of BP ultimate from a servo near campbelltown rather then the regular BP in Cecil hills and my shuddering problem seems to have vanished... bad batch of fuel by the looks of it...
  4. i cant put them under the frame rails due to my trolly jack being too high to fit under the car after lowering it 3" : can anyone please post up a pic?? cheers
  5. Moreover on this topic... is it necessary to cut the metal reinforcment bar to fit a 600 x 300 x 76 FMIC as shown in the Hybrid installation guide?? Cheers
  6. Common guys.. i dun wanna have to start the 100th "intercooler" thread lol please advise... Cheers
  7. Im tossing up between a 600 x 300 x 76 or the 600 x 300 x 100 (Gktech) FMIC... considering the car has stock turbo and ecu i think the 76mm thick core is more then enough however i will be going larger turbo and PFC end of the year.. will the 76mm core handle 280 - 300rw/kw??
  8. Hey Guys... im going to attempt to install my FMIC in the upcomming weeks and just QRI05E (curious) to know where is the safest part to place my jack stands while working on the car? Could some one please post up a pic showing where to place them under the car?? Cheers
  9. Well it not a big issue at the moment.. ill wait it out till i got my FMIC installed.. and then invest in an Apexi Power FC and tune it... next service ill replace spark plugs and fuel filter along with oil + filter... see how we go... cheers
  10. yea i might just change my fuel filter and see how it goes.. i think it maybe a bad batch of fuel... Has anyone heard bad things with shell fuel??? i been told it creates a "sludge" in the fuel... is this true?
  11. Yea Quinny, however my clutch is not slipping.. it breaks traction in 2nd and it pulls VERY well to redline without hesitation.. the only thing it feel like a minor "hiccup" on low revs...
  12. Well i have heard some bad things about Shell fuel as i had used it for many years.. i have switched to BP Ultimate and only recently i have noticed the shudder/hesitation.. could this be due to the fuel??? there both 98RON...
  13. My plugs are about 12,000kms old... there NGK Platnums gapped to 0.8mm... im changing them to NGK coppers next oil change... before i installed the turbotech, my boost gauge showed 8psi on high boost mode on the stock solenoid... i would love to run the turbotech cause it has really made a difference at constant 9psi... im just concerned about the shudder/hesitation... what can it be?
  14. Thanks for that i appretiate it... what if i removed the turbotech and ran a single hose from the BOV hose to the acutator? therefore using the acutator as the boost control? would it still spike then??
  15. Hmm now you got me worried as i was going to install a Gktech FMIC and run the boost control off the BOV hose... i have never welded in my life LOL is there any other hose i can connect to the boost controller which wil minimise boost spiking????
  16. I dun get it sorry... could you be bit more specific? i have my turbotech hooked one end fron the hose off the intercooler pipe near the air filter box and the other to the acutator hose. I have followed the instructions from the turbotech thread... could it be the spring inside jamming some how therefore not boosting smoothly?
  17. I dont think my problem is exhaust related, any other suggestions that might cause this?? could boost increase be a problem? fuel filter might need changing? cheers
  18. Hey Taso, im good thanks buddy! urself? Nope theres no exhaust leak or any induction noise... the exhaust is about 6 months old and i perfect condition.. what other info do you need for dignosis? its a very slight jerk/shudder feel...
  19. Hey guys, lately i have been noticing when accelerating in 2nd and 3rd to get a very slight shudder/hesitation at around 2500 - 3500RPM then perfect to redline... i have recently fixed my coils, gapped the sparks, ran injector cleaner and cleaned the AFM.. 100% its not a misfire... more of a jerky shudder but its very minor... nothing to be too worried about im sure but it just feels like the car is bit sluggish... Mods are: Full 3" exhaust with split dump Turbotech set to 9psi (not spiking) K&N Panel filter My Suspicions: 1. Fuel Filter? 2. Stock SMIC not coping? 3. Clutch on its way? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Regards, Sarkis
  20. Back to the topic, I think from reading everyone’s theories on the intercooler myth/fact, its safe to say that considering the positioning, size, efficiency rate, heat soaking and other factors of the stock SMIC, a FMIC wether it be a Gktech, HYBRID or Trust should make some sort of improvement to the cars power ability and drivability... So far, 'Bang for Buck" the Gktech has won me over...
  21. I dunno Rob... im just going to what they state on their site.. besides, could they post such results if it were a lie? wouldn't that be misleading? I appretiate your answer Roy, i think the difference between both coolers is minimal... thanks bud
  22. siddr20, yea i have read great things about ARC coolers however im more looking into "bang for you buck" and considering my car is fairly stockish... i think a Gktech or even HYBRID will do wonders compared to my stock cooler... and to save $200 the Gktech so far takes the cake Example: From experience, GFB and Turbo smart manual boost controllers range from $90 - $120... and the Turbotech for $35 Delivered is heaps better then both GFB and turbo smart! Therefore cheap does not necessarily mean inferior..
