  1. Hmmm... Have a look at the exhaust from underneath the car... Are there any pipes running off the waste gate/turbo that are cut off and vented atmospherically??? If so, you have a screamer pipe that’s the only conclusion i can think of if its an "induction" noise heard at around 5000RPM as that is when the waste gate is fully open... The screamer pipe is a separation of the waste gate housing from the turbo as to vent the boost pressure atmospherically, its meant to help increase top end power however is illegal in Australia... sounds awesome on large turbos... Let us know how you go.. Regards, Sarkis
  2. Thanks for the advise, ill do a search... you know the link to the post?? you think im waisting my time cleaning the AFM??? Cheers
  3. Hey guys, as we all know and read it 100 times before in this forum that many SII RB25DET's suffer from spluttering/misfire at 5000RPM under heavy acceleration. However, since every car will vary in cause of this misfire, here are the symptoms of my car... 1. Very slight stuttering/poping on idle (when warm) but not noticable at all. 2. Distinctive spluttering at 5000RPM at heavy load in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear (not in 1st). 3. Occasional pop/backfire from exhaust when changing gears at ~ 4500RPM (due to cam timming?). As for the slight stuttering/poping on idle, im going to give my AFM a clean with contact cleaner due to oil from K&N and check to make sure there are no dry/cracked solder joints. I was also going to remove my coil packs and give the electrode a clean with light sanding and check for any cracks. Then i was going to check my plugs to see if any are fouled up and make sure there gapped at 0.8 NOTE: about a year ago i got the coil packs repaced with secondhand ones... NGK Platinums gapped at 0.8 where put in... this soldved the problem up untill now... since then i have also put a split dump and 3" exhaust and Turbotech at 9psi... Am i on the right track??? any other advice??? and YES i have used the search button Kind Regards, Sarkis
  4. I dont need the whole cluster... just that f**king clip... i cant find one anywhere Thanks anyways
  5. Hey guys, I’m after the clip that fits the tacho needle on the dash cluster of an R33. If you got one or a spare cluster lying around i would truly appreciate your help! Here is a pic of what i need... Please PM me Regards, Sarkis
  6. Personally it sounds like too much screwing around and you wont know how reliable it will all be in the end... sell the RB30 bottom, RB25 head and even your RB20... that should get you some cash about $3500 + your $5000 = $8500... Buy yourself an RB26DETT with loom and harness from SSS Automotive for about $6000... FMIC $500... PFC $1000... Fuel pump $300... You said you had the RB25 Gearbox which you can use and slap it all in! Regards, Sarkis
  7. Hey Guys, Just some pics taken from the SUPERCRUISE 11 of few of us SAU members as well as a few of the Bellevue Boys... feel free to post all your SUPERCRUISE 11 pics too... Cheers [attachmen =34459:attachment]
  8. Hey JD, I got my split dump and whole exhaust made and fitted by Liverpool Exhausts... at least that way i have 3 years warranty and know who made it... i have truly found them to be the best at price and quality... Regards, Sarkis
  9. That’s a pretty good result congrats! I definitely recommend fitting a split dump as it gave me big increase... and I’m hoping to do the same with mine come Christmas time... -PFC (tuned) -Splitfire Coils -Hybrid GT spec FMIC -Bosch 044 fuel pump -555cc Nismo injectors -11psi boost (Turbotech) What rw/kw figures should I be looking at? Currently 165rw/kw… all stock except Full 3” exhaust & split dump + K&N Would a larger AFM make any difference? Regards, Sarkis
  10. Listen to these guys and buy a boost gauge! i was in the exact same boat as you and didnt want to spend $$$ on a gauge... however it is an important measuring instrument that will keep you in control of your turbo... I bought a Speco (psi) gauge and its perfect! Cost me $45 from super cheap auto... and then bought an autometer pillar pod for $70 (because it fits perfect) you can get universal ones for $35 from Car Mate in Villawood (Sydney) and fit it on 2hrs without drilling one hole in my a-pillar! And then I fit my Turbotech and adjusted it to perfectly sit on 9psi... you spend more money on petrol per week then what it cost to fit a gauge! thays my 2 cents.. But be careful! Do NOT attempt to raise your boost levels using the factory gauge as an indication.. it is inaccurate and not for fine tuning... Regards, Sarkis
  11. Man i would love to know how you guys are getting 182rw/kw from a stock GTST... sorry to say but sounds to me the dyno tuner is playing with the roller settings just to make you think you got 182rw/kw... or maybe ur reading the dyno wrong... could be in HP not KW... read the dyno thread and there are guys with full exhaust, FMIC, boost struggling to hit the 180+rw/kw... either way post a dyno graph... As for your car sammie, maybe the bov was the issue in boost leak? if you can feel better power now, that may have been your problem... Cheers, Sarkis
  12. Stock R33 @ 182rw/kw?? Doesn't sound stock to me... My SII R33 pulled 144rw/kw (193HP) stock standard... (7psi) 3"split dump, Hiflow CAT and 3"CAT Back gave me 165rw/kw (220HP)... (8psi due to split dump) Everything else is stock... 181HP = 135kw which is only 9kw less then mine... therefore its possible if your engine/turbo isn't in good nick.. What fuel were you running? How hot was the workshop temp? These all can easily make a big difference Personally I would try a fresh tank of optimax/ultimate and dyno it in the morning or late afternoon... Regards, Sarkis
  13. Thanks for your help guys, I have done about 75kms worth of driving today with the Turbotech and I have noticed a MASSIVE improvement in acceleration in 2nd and 3rd overtaking is so much more fun now lol I have it set to 9psi and its running beautifully... I think I’m might leave that restrictor in cause its not causing any issues as I have totally removed the standard solenoid from the equation... I seriously feel i have gained at least 10 - 15rwkw... it feels like the same increase in power since my full exhaust which gave me 20rwkw.. No complaints! Anyone have any dyno comparisons from stock solenoid and with the Turbotech? Regards, Sarkis
  14. Hey guys, i read that a few of you removed the "restrictor" on their R33... can someone plz PM me or post a pic of where it is located in the engine bay??? Cheers, Sarkis
  15. Haha i just couldn't wait! I received mine today and just put it on 15min ago and took the Turbotech for a test and all i can say is HOLY CRAP! Did anyone say traction? It hit 12psi almost instantaneously!! it was all fun till the fuel cut defender came in so wound it back 3/4 turn and tightened the nut and went for another wrap... 9psi solid! No Spike! No Loss! All the way to redline! My car was boosting to 9psi before and i wouldn’t want it to boost any higher cause only stock cooler and stock ecu... Full boost came on at no more then 2400RPM... It took me like 2min to fit it into my R33 GTSt but getting the hoses off that T-piece was a nightmare! Just a bit of advice, spray some WD40 and twist using pliers and they will slip off... Great product Mark! Another happy customer! A+++ Regards, Sarkis
  16. Got mine today too! Mark thanks for the great service! Deposited the money on Friday, cleared on Saturday and got it on Wednesday! Just need a day off to fit it... I hope it puts a smile on my face as it has for others lol I’m going to leave it at the factory setting and then see how we go seeing as i only got stock turbo and SMIC... i fit my boost gauge over the weekend and my car is currently running 9psi on stock solenoid (high boost mode) due to the split dump pipe and K&N I’m assuming... aint going to push it past 10psi... just want it to boost harder n sooner without waste gate creep... Will keep you posted Regards, Sarkis
  17. From personal experience, get yourself a split dump pipe and hiflow CAT! On my stock R33 GTST, the split dump and hiflow CAT gained me 21rwkw! Liverpool Exhausts on Seaton Rd Moorebank built my 3" with perfection! i recommend them 100% I have also just purchased a Turbotech boost controller from Mark at the cost of $35 inc Express post.. Just email him and he will give you payment details! Read the thread regarding this product and you will see how good it really is... and also get a decent K&N Panel filter... no need for a POD... These are my suggestons: - Split Dump - Hiflow 4" Steel CAT - 3" Mandrel bent Exhaust system (Liverpool Exhausts) - K&N Panel Filter - Turbotech boost controller (Mark - [email protected]) - Hybrid GT Spec FMIC (Liverpool Exhausts supply and Fit) - Bosch 044 fuel pump - Sard 700cc injectors - Apexi Power FC + Tuning (Adam - Just Engine Management located in Moorebank) Make sure the Apexi PFC is the last to be fitted and tunned as to get all your mods in perfect working harmony... Liverpool Exhaust - Jimmy - www.liverpoolexhaust.com.au Just Engine Management - Adam - www.justenginemanagement.com Turbotech - Mark - [email protected] Regards, Sarkis
  18. I know a guy who has his Blitz SBC in his ashtray and fits perfectly! As for a turbo timer, i think the best place for it would be underneath the drivers side dash.. just cable tie it... and if you need to adjust the idle time its not too far away.. i have seen baby turbo timers for $59 at www.justjap.com that would fit in the ashtray easily.. or you can double side tape it just under the fuse pannel on the driverside... besides we all need our ashtrays to keep our shrapnel for the toll.. P.S. Turbo timers void your comprehensive insurance policy (Just Car Insurance) Cheers, Sarkis
