What Is The Deal With Commodore Drivers?
Modena replied to rb20inside's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Actually ls1.com.au has probably the most mature forum members compared to say nissiansilvia.com where the majority of poster are 16 yo pimply virgins... btw this forum is great, old and young guys post and I see not much flaming, well apart from this thread. I been driving a Commodore ever since I got my Ps, 25 now. Im not a boga, in been living in Australia for over 13 years now. Currently Im looking at buying an R33 skyline... There are LOTS of tossers driving imports and the main reason why commodores/falcons get a bad rep is cos hese cars are dirt cheap and can be bought by people on the dole... they dont care about the car so hence they act like wanks. Im yet to see any newish model CLubby or SS doing silly shit... -

Hey guys, after many months of deciding I have come to a conclusion to get R33 GTS-T II. I want a reliable car so I want it with rather low Ks, anywhere between 50,000 and 100,000 is fine with me. Ive never bought a car myself and need some advice. The car will most be used for weekend/night driving and I want it in auto as I want to cruise not go drifting. Any advice you can give me on buying skylines? I know to do RACV check as well as compression check (do RACV also do compression check, where is it done? how much?) but need to know other details... im bit of a newbie to owning cars so need info! Plz point me in the right direction if this has been covered shit loads before EDIT: Also Im from Melbourne but in Sydney they got aussiecarcompliance... are they any good? They had some nice looking GTS-Ts go for around 15 grand with 50 k on the clock...

Could Ur Skyline Spool This :|

Thats stock! Bring on the mods... -
Didnt you know that Japanese car manufacturers lack creativity so they must copy European rivals? Honda has been copying BMWs for ages now they moved onto Audi... Nissan 350Z does look like Porsche and so on. Probably the only real car that Nissan designed to look unique is the R32-34 skylines...

Im sure some crazy yank could fit it into his chrysler or 240 sx -
What about backfire? My mate has an s15 with GFB BOV and his car backfires often. I know its running rich blah blah but is it bad for the car?
-
yeah true! too many 350Zs in there though.
-
You drove safely and slowly...home from thew car yard right? After that differet story
-
R34s can be switched to a 2 wheel drive but R32/33 need to be f**ked around with mechanicall I think... is that right? What im trying to say is r34s are known for its grip and cornering... why dont they have more s15s in there or GTTs?
-
And how are you meant to "drift" a GTR? AWD drift?
-
But without a BOV the turbo is boring Vrooom PPPPSHTT!

How do you guys afford such nice cars?!
Modena replied to Jaxe's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Depends what IT job you are doing. Its like with medicine, not all medical people get doctor's wages... Besides, IT is no longer that "glamourous job" unles you are in management or doing contract work. Basic IT job is with the helpdesk/desktop support, the normal salary for a helpdesk officer is 30-35 K... is that "heaps of money?" Please! Sure you get a lot of free time to do whatever you want and this is prolly why many people think IT jobs are godo for the money... a work mate of mine runs his ebay business while at work, so he gets 35 K at his work, and 15 grand a year from ebay... so 50 K all up. What you all need to realise is that to afford nice things in life, one main job wont cut it unles you get over 40 grand a year. You need to find other ways to get rich, either dodgy or fair, I dont promote such shit as dealing drugs or robbing people... thats f**ked up... starta small business on the side, go small at first and expand if it allows... I got into a "personal coaching" business with 3 of my friends, and over a weekend I can make easy 250 bucks...I got a course this weekend coming up... but soon we are going to raise the price. Dont sit on your ass, do something extra... get out there, Bill Gates didnt sit on his ass he tried to get his small business going! -
my bro has done it on the commodore, press the button while inside the house and the car starts up... give it a few mins and its nice and ready to start driving fairly hard
-
Mind you a Japanese car that was driven in Japan and has around 40 K on the clock is worse off than a Japanese ADM car with 40 K on the clock that was driven in Australia from day 1. The reason for it is cos Japan has congested roads and a lot of the times the average speed that the car will travel there will be around 40 KM/H, thus a lot more stress on the engine.

Nissan Considering Bringing In The V35
Modena replied to scathing's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
They can have the silvias/200sxs as well as ugly Maximas and Pulsars... just give us the "lines" Wake up Nissan, an average Aussie is above 5 foot tall and likes powerful cars with at least 6 cylinders!! -
Cool, how did you get it/ how much?
-
Its OK if theres rain or hard to see but what really shits me is the cars that have badly configured fog lihts, that is they point like high beams and dazzle every oncomming car, f**king idiots dont realise that fog lights meant to look at the ground NOT direct! Whats worse is idiots driving with badly adjusted normal lights, they dont point at the road, they also point straight forward, those AU falcon taxis really shit me with theirs... whats worse still is f**kheads who drive with high beams and dont even realise or do it on purpose!! *end of rage*
-
most of those things are already included in the compliance cost except for tyres and rego.
-
This is not really related to scratching an import but a mate of mine parked his car once in this car park on Fitzroy St and when he came back he sees this dickhead trying to open his boot, my mate comes up and goes "Hi buddy, what you doing?" "This is my car". The c**t is like "ehhh... oops..." ran off lol
-
Well thats the thing, actually who knows who keyd his car, it could of been some dick who hated him not cos of the car... try and be friendly and not a dickhead, especially in your neighbourhood (ie no burnouts or even slight speeding in your suburb). As for the shops, if I get this R34 I believe the last thing Im gonna do in it is go shopping at some big ass car park... Ill try do all the shopping in another car or park the car sensibly etc.

Hey guys if you wanted a cheaper, say an R34 GTT coupe for around 25-30 K would it be better to import it via j spec or whichever or buy R34s that have already been brought over? Im keen on an auto R34 coupe GTT and saw on j spec site them go for as low as 22 grand (add another grand or so for hidden costs like new tyres and rego) with only 60 K on the clock and a good rating 4. Currently I see GTT go for 28-35 K in Australia with relatively high Ks... Comments?
