  1. yeah give em a call or log online justcar.com.au and do an online app for third party and see how much they charge.
  2. Fire and theft for any car is around 300-500 bucks, doesnt matter if its HSV/Skyline/WRX or whatever. After all your car is only covered for those two things and I think if you also smash into someones house and end up with a million dollar bill, although Id check it out with the insurance comp cos as far as I know there are two types of third party covers.
  3. yeah my bad i think i moved to mars...
  4. I pretty much doubt that 80% of people live in the northern part of the world, India and China hold the most population and while China is in the Northern hemi, India is on the Equator. Dont underestimate the South East Asian population cos they have shit load of people compared to Europe or America. But anyway petrol was 105 cents in July for reg unleaded, 113 for premium... i think premium at Mobile last night was 125, I dont use premium cos the commodore dont need it.
  5. hah filled up for 1,18 last night...
  6. Mate if you think that its too dear then do this: get a third party (fire and theft) cover which is around a few hundred bucks. Then get that $3000, put it in the bank, get the car, drive around as careful as can be, dont floor it like a knob and drive like a granny when in the wet. Next year put another 3 grand into the bank and hopefully you havent had any accidents and you already will have 6 grand to spend in case you had a bad accident, the year after put like another 2 grand aside and by then you would of prolly saved up enough cash for yourself to repair it.
  7. Why does it say 180 MAX KM/H? I thought they would be past 240 easy?
  8. http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=118061 here u go
  9. sales section... also try nissansilvia.com they had quiet a bit of r32s!
  10. thats hot!
  11. i doubt many dealers will have r32s... GTRs yeah but GTSTs... try those import based dealers. PS this site has a shitload of r32s for sale.
  12. i dunno id prolly save up till about 12-13K for r32, maybe a couple of more just to get one of the best examples. but hunt around and bargain, im sure you can find one for 13 K and bring it down to 12 or even lower... if ur thinking of buying soon then i suggest start scouring the net and local car yards. also with any rather used cars, you should always have a few grand lying around just incase things go wrong (new brakes, new fuel pump etc). this was you protect yourself from any bullshit that your RACV dude failed to spot when buying the car. so in the end put aside 12-13 K for the car, 2-3 K for the insurance and rego, and another 2 K for any bullshit u might run into in the first few months. so really it gets pricey down the track but you already knew that.
  13. save up another 5 K and your laughing. plenty of spare parts for r32... and im sure u can afofrd the fuel! gluck!
  14. Sit down, work out your situ and if you have good job that pays ok and no other commitments then go for it. Your 18 so i doubt u have much to finance apart from uni/tafe/going out and the puss. Just dont fall into some finance problem where u cant pay off the loan etc. a 12 K car for a uni student that has a part time job and lives at home is ok but a 30 K car can be a problem. In other situ a dude that gets good money from full time job but has an interest in buying a house soon or has a wife well its pointless to buy a nice car cos hes made a selection to get married ie broke hehe well not qieuit cos if they young they can both buy the car as their budget has just doubled but that all depends on the girl very much, ie if shes into family shit then forget about cars and go out and buy a pram!
  15. haha in my case it was for a few months
  16. Well put it this way, if you dont smoke, dont drink every weekend and dont do drugs then why not? People blow thousands of dollars on cigarretes a year alone, that could be your insurance money and rego! Just be smart with money, cut corners with everyday things and you can save up pretty much for anything well thats not true but you get my drift.
  17. I see, then my situ doesnt help you much. In the end if your young and want speed, be prepared to pay.
  18. Maybe you ought to drive the commodore for a bit longer (i drive a VS atm and they arent bad cars at all) and when you turn 25 buy a turbo. Im 25 and been lately looking into imports (s15, r33 and r34 turbos) Just car gave me this: 1996 NISSAN SKYLINE GTST HR33 TURBO F/IN 2D COUPE (IMPORT) T Amount Covered $19,000 Comp insurance: $971 Endorsements • The following item(s) must be fitted to your car for your car to be covered in the event of theft or attempted theft: AUST STANDARD 2PT IMMOBILISER. • Any repair we authorise to your vehicle will be delayed if parts are unavailable locally and need to be imported. • Vehicle Excess $700 So its very cheap. R34 GT-T was 1030 fully covered and s115 was around the same. How long till your 25?
  19. Is your GF your family? Dont you mean wife? PS to fix this, ask her to buy a shit box thats for her only, if she cant afford it then perhaps she cant afford to drive either.
  20. If I get an r34 GT T itll only be a tiptronic... why bother with manual when u can have both?
  21. Yeah i wonna actually test drive an R33 GTS-T and R34 GT-T. Are they as roomy inside as each other or is R34 slightly bigger?
  22. haha yeah exactly the same here, the R34 with Just cars is 1000 for me to insure full comprehensive! s15 was around the same
  23. Hey guys, are R33 GTS-T coupes reliable? Sorry for the silly q I just recently got into the imports, know fair bit about silvias but not so much about Skylines. Say the one with just under 100,000 Km on the clock, has it got much left in it or what?
  24. Well after all we are all different and various things interest us
