  1. Me? I much prefer 4 doors. looks almost as nice, and so much more practical. Yes, I have to consider passengers. and as a largley unnoticed bonus, the front doors arn't quite as long, so you don't need so much space to get out. Now, if only there was a way to apply a shopping trolley forcefield, I'd be set --ebola --It's not how much power your engine produces, its how much of it gets transferred to the road.
  2. easy - if you have X-ray vision. Too bad if your name isn't Clark Kent
  3. mates '92 gts-t: Non standard fuel pump (type unknown - came with the car) boost controller (14 psi) 3in turbo back exhaust K&N filter (in the airbox, not a pod filter) 160 rwKw Though to be fair, his boost gague was out, and it was running on 17psi. How the standard turbos stayed put, I'll never know. Yes, they are real upgrades (and first on my list - when it Finally Gets Here), but they are all (relativley) easy to do. I guess the fuel pump is too (my vote is inline booster pump), but I wouldn't be able to change the injectors without trepidation. Guess it depends on how mechanical you are (or how loaded your wallet is) --ebola
  4. 1) search button 2) intake (filters) 3) exhaust 4) intercooler 5) real mods begin (turbo, fuel pump, injectors, suspension, brakes) --ebola
  5. you hope you have enough oil to get home? you only need enough to get to to the closest garage/autoshop/supermarket... anything that sells oil. Or make it a really short trip. Do the maths: Is it worth going an extra oilchange (to get rid of the cheap oil) in order to keep the engine good? It might not warp the head. It might not crack the turbo manifold. If it was my car, I'd be a chicken. do what you will, but good luck either way. --just tryin to help --ebola EDIT: Whats with the timestamps? it said 5:35, my computer said 5:30 (close enough) and I get listed as posting at 6:30... What state is the server in!?! (and don't say denial - thats MY state)
  6. Ouch!!!! lets just hope there isn't. It had better get here before the new year... its meant to be coming in under the 15 year imports rule (while it still exists...) wish me luck --ebola
  7. want high boost AND no turbo lag? superharge it...
  8. Its been hinted at before, but I will go and say it anyway (if only because I like the idea) seperate thread / forums by engine. What would be REALLY cool is if each thread could be labeled multiple times. So (for me...) RB20DET, GTS4, R32, etc... could be interesting... though its probably beyond the scope of the current php and database setup, it still could be done. Much like the labels in Google's Gmail... Whaddaya think?!? --ebola
  9. ressurecting an old post.... Once its on a ship, ~2 weeks to melbourne (plus 1 for the mishaps of life) my problem is getting it onto the ship... How long does import approval usually take to get? I'm still waiting... --ebola
  10. hit search..., look in the faq's... this has been done before (and the answer is 'yes') as for 4wd, it depends on how you define it... search
  11. check out skylinesdownunder... the r32 spec page is... nice in my diggings (including these forums - use the search button) it appears as though there are 3 r32 boxes. the coveted GT-R (I want one) the GTS-4 and the rest.... the GTS-4 has different ratios, same box, and I understand that the GT-R box bolts right into the other models (correct me if I'm wrong). ranked in order of strength, too...
  12. oops.... look at the origional post date (please dont). won't do that again in a hurry.
  13. it is rwd till slippage is detected engaging awd can be disabled whether or not you should depends on r32, r33 or r34. there is also a search button. USE IT!
  14. I presume you are talking about hiding your pod filter in a standard airbox - or at least a box that looks like a standard airbox. On the r32 gtst (at least), you can chop a hole in the front of the air box, and run some ducting to in front of where the (sad) stock intercooler is. No pod filter for me (yet - my car is still in japan), but a cold air intake on the airbox will be one of the first things on the list. you just hide the pod in the airbox -ebola [EDIT] check out skylinesdownunder... there is a DIY section on doing the airbox mod (extremely detailed...) just hide your pod filter in there --ebola
  15. as far as I know, all the rb20 blocks are the same E, DE and DET is all in the head (OK, technically the pistons too, though I would presume the crankshaft is the same) but, yes, the clutch shuold bolt right on... Are you sure that you can't find another less heavy clutch? Not that there is anything wrong with it, but it would probably feel pretty heavy compared to your old clutch. anyway, good luck with it. -ebola
  16. I read the topic carefully... you people are not answering the question. can a rb20 head go on a rb25 block? I am also curious - swap the block (keep the rb20det head), or use a mix of the two engines (use the rb20 crank ~= 2.4L, lower CR, more valve clearance?!?) I would like to know - about to come into possesion of an rb20det awd, and am looking at different possibilities. -ebola
