Had a play with this last night, was funny. Anti Lag Launch is hilarious (didn't actually launch just got it on the 2 step and let it bang bang and spool for giggles). Anti Lag Rally is interesting, you need to drive a certain way to make use of it, but is hilarious to have a WOT blast up towards a corner, lift off, go to shift down and have it bang bang between the shifts and trailing throttle, many giggles had. You need to think about it in advance though as the first pull arms it then you have to dip below a threshold for it to fire, I can see this working well on the track. I didn't notice anything concerning about EGTs during this testing, but I wasn't using it heavily.

Your last line was kind of my point. IF you want to build a car to go fast around a track, you'll do it much cheaper than the cost of the Nismo, if you want to buy a car that will be very capable straight out of the box with the vast majority of the hard work done, and don't mind paying for that then you have other options, including this. How were trans temps? Does it have a cooler/bigger trans pan etc?

Shame there's no telemetry on that. Didn't look "that" laggy and you'd think given the engine size that lag wouldn't be an issue up to 600 or so HP so I'm guessing those turbos have a lot more love to give. Do you think a basic ALS setting on your tune (when it happens) would alleviate the lag? No I won't be buying one, I live in a regional area and whilst we're quite comfortable, in terms of expendable income as a percentage of total coming in, we're still not in metro wages here so I think a Nismo is hard to justify especially a I wouldn't track it. I'll be test driving a 35 in the next month or 2 though, just to finally put that idea to bed - as a weekender that is, not a track car. The Silvia is too much fun to get rid of and GTRs tend to be less capable and more expensive to run as track cars than many other platforms (S chassis/Evo in particular). As you've said, is it worth twice as much? I'm doubtful, but for someone who wants a turn key package to compete in showroom catagories etc, it makes a lot of sense. With some basic upgrades it will be a weapon also (and I don't think people should get on their high horse about hur ur it's a 350k car and still needs R comps and different rotors and pads hur dur).

Haltech Anti-Lag Launch and Rally A few queries regarding both, but keep in mind this is just for shits and giggles, will not be used in compeition etc is simply just for laughs/noise. Platinum pro on an 34R with -9s etc. How harsh is the launch function if I'm only using it for a few seconds here and there, say when pulling up at a mates place to be a goose and not actually launching. Is it less harsh if dropping the rpm or TPS limits or using fuel or ignition cut or is it just all having the same negative impact on gaskets, manifolds, and turbos/temp? Regarding the Rally setting, similar questions is there a "nicer" value for fuel enrichment and timing retard? As this is not needed for genuine performance and only for driving enjoyment/noise/giggles. Does it still work without a throttle kicker/manually adjusted throttle plate to allow for extra air coming in? Given the time between WOT gear changes (say on an on ramp between 2nd and 3rd, is there going to be an impact anyway? Appreciate the input from people who have actively played with both settings. They are expecting finished 3/4 hubs hopefully this month. Award said if it ever pops out of gear thats the selector and I thought if already paying for labour to remove is might as well just do all synchros and hub/sleeves and be done with it. That said, new fluid and Nismo trans mount has made a solkd difference so this will be on the back burner while I finish other bits I wanted first (cams and springs mainly).

I'm in a similar position (considering moving the 34 on and getting a 35) and I'm in two minds about the Transaxle. Have spoken to many people with 09-11 who have had no issues at all and the two most commons fixes are actually easy enough to do at home, gear stoppers and piston caps - which you can argue are good preventative parts for any GR6 anyway. The key seems to have been treatment. People doing a lot of hard standing starts seem to encounter more issues, naturally, but there has also been enough reports of people babying the cars and still having issues to know it's a real flaw in the early spec. The bell housing issue "should" have been fixed under warranty for any ADM car that has the problem.

Finished this install, height difference is very minimal. Only noticeable when trying to install them and you need that extra mm or 2 of clearance to get them in.

Cut off/remove the backing plates, helps keep them cooler.
