  1. OK at least I have someone to blame if it goes tits Will post in Dyno thread in a month or so when I get this done, other shit fitted and back to the tuner.
  2. Some of that still exists. My no f**ks given budget CA track car build is in the motorsport section though, much safer in there.
  3. ARP kit arrived. Still lots of conjecture about using Nissan's process of tighten, tighten, loosen, tighten again vs ARPs 3 equal steps to 105ft lbs. Also, with the order, given I am removing one and replacing one stud at a time, should I be starting from the middle as per the diagram, or starting from the end, 14 in the digram, and working backwards. though in my head, given the gasket is already crushed and in place,m it shouldn't matter.
  4. Nothing I haven't seen here more or less. I've seen much worse on NS.com lol
  5. Interesting. I look at drifters like that.
  6. Good run down and very telling that all in all you're enjoying this more. Lets see how slow it feels once you've E85'd it etc. What do you mean by Evo drivers being a bit "different"? Also "It's a Lancer"? A GT-R is just a Skyline too.
  7. What's the best/worst parts about owning this car vs the GTR so far? Street or track, I don't mind.
  8. Smart move re fluids. I think I almost prefer those wheels without any stickers, but they look good either way. Look at you parked outside of Prada, you poser
  9. I was as well, but they confirmed it and I showed the local highway patrol a picture afterwards and he confirmed it was fine. Sometimes it's faster to just call and ask than research online. I found out that I could legally transport a full fuel drum in the back of the Territory, so that's how I went and got my barrel of E85 How's your car coming along?
  10. Price drop, list update. R34/RB26 - RB26 Stock manifolds - $60 - Stock manifold shields - $10 - 2.5" into 3" front pipe, with flex pipe. $150 - 3" mid pipe with flanged stock Nissan cat and basic mid muffler into 3.5" rear pipe/muffler section with cannon. Can only see a Jasma label on it - SR. Came of 34, but will fit 33 with minimal mods - $400 R34 Standard fuel pump. $50 R34 AFMs $100 Standard Cam Gears. $20 R34 Non Vspec air guides for brakes. $300 R34 GTT Console ilid skin, mint condition. Hinge and leg no good though. $100 S13 - S13 CA18 Viscous Centre and 6 bolt shafts - dunno what these are worth$$ - GKTech V3 S13 to s14 toe arm adapters (use S13 arms in s14 subframe). $Not sure either - Carpet - Roof lining, - Lots of interior plastics - Interior light - CA18 Cam Gears - CA18 Intake Cam - CA18 AFM and plug. - a TPS - Washer fluid bottle and neck - Standard space saver. - CA18 carbon canister - Rear toe arms - Rear camber arms - Coil pack cover - Leaking power steering rack that includes the rack ends (the rack ends might be S15 ones as I used an S15 rack and some bits from the S13 rack ends/tie rods. I can assist with fairly cheap postage or pickup is fine. Or take a bulk lot for cheaper. Located in Wodonga.
  11. Wow, that's near on 200k AUD Do you think you could have built a comparable chassis for less or was there an element of nostalgia in this? That aside, it looks amazing and I wish more people built Silvia's as grip cars. My little cheapo s13 punches well above its above its weight for the power and tyres. This will be a monster
  12. Do you mind if I ask how you found that chassis for sale and a ball park on what it cost? This is going to be awesome
  13. I'll see if I can borrow one, no point buying a whole set for one job. 3/8" drive, sure, but not in double hex. Next door neighbour has all those sorts of rarely used items.
  14. Cutting slots in an old bolt is a nifty idea, cheers. Regular tightenting procedure as in tighten to X, then tighten to Y then back off to 0 then tighten again? I thought that was to stretch the stock bolts. If the nut is what I'm using, what socket size/fitting is it?
  15. I've read a number of threads on here regarding this, but there's some info missing. For safety, I'll be replacing the standard headstuds in my car with ARP studs as I'm planning on adding a bit more boost or going single (currently -9s, e85 and 335rwkw at 22psi). Gasket is stock and has not shown signs of issue. I've been advised that doing one at a time should be fine and wont unsettle the gasket and I've been reading this regarding install. http://arpinstructions.com/instructions/202-4207.pdf 1) Do I need to go and buy a thread chaser or is blowing out each hole with a compressor enough? 2) Any issue with me following the order as shown on that PDF? The first one being the middle? 3) Do any of the studs protrude into a water jacket and require sealant on an RB26? 4) There's mixed info regarding what torque to use given the standard head gasket has already been crushed and seated. Nissan spec torque or ARP torque? 5) This might seem like a stupid question, but in my last car the studs did not have separate nuts. That install guide says finger tight the studs into the block then finger tight the nut onto the stud then torque from there. Is torque applied to the assembled nut and stud via the nut or via the stud? Last car I did this on the torque was applied via the stud with a 10mm allen key fitting. Same here? Cheers
  16. Fair point... also Evo 7 so no Mivec... hmm...
  17. High comp motor will be helping a bit there. I thought they were past efficiency at that boost.
  18. Not as responsive as I expected - no offense to you. Stock cams will help me, but no VCT will hinder me (RB26) so I can't see it coming on any earlier. Hmm.
  19. Alright, I'm reading all of this and getting a little excited. I'm going to have on more play around with -9s and see what we can get (want more response, want a bit more excitement) and if that doesn't work will look at going single. Piggaz been in my ear so here I am. 7670 in 1.05 on an internally stock rb26, stock cams (with gears) and all the usual supporting mods. Yes or no? What power will it make and how responsive will it be. Has Haltech pro plug in, is flex fuel and runs mostly on e85 as it's a weekender.
  20. Going to go pods on the 34, was looking at pod shields but can't find anything that allows usage of the stock snorkel. Has anyone found/had one made? Alternatively, was looking at buying this and modifying it. How had would it be for me to cut a neat hole in that? I'd then stick a small rubber flange on the whole for the snorkel to sit on. http://www.jsai.com.au/index.php/online-store/nissan/r34-gtr/nissan-r34-gtr-cold-air-box-detail I did find this, but that's a GT-T and the opening looks kinda ugly. http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/424670-r34-gtt-air-intake-system-using-oem-snorkel/
