Nismo R Tune Intake Duct
No Crust Racing replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm wondering if that's what Nismo did? I have no idea how shady a business they are, but you'd have to have done some testing before claiming what they have. "Reduces Compressor intake pressure by 30 percent at the moment of boost pressure, also decreases air-path pressure" And call me stupid, but what does that even mean? Does that mean that a pressure gauge was put in the airbox and at the moment boost comes on the vacuum in the box was less because air was flowing more freely into the airbox? You could say that changing the panel filter for a more free flow design would also have the same effect. -

Has been done. I'm assuming nobody has ever done a dyno test to prove that intake piping mod has any benefit, despite it being obvious that there would be "some" benefit. -

Ahh OK. That's something I can look at doing. Also good to note that Hadouken was wrong about what he thought you meant. -

I've seen people refer to it as a visual mod as well which makes me wonder where Nismo gets this from? "The NISMO Air Cleaner Duct Reduces Compressor intake pressure by 30 percent at the moment of boost pressure, also decreases air-path pressure." Then what? Avoiding exploding diff/ruined sump? The rubber intake pipes or the metal pipes that connect the twin turbo pipe to each comp housing? Guard port is opened. -

For all that hectic track work I'll be doing. I knew I'd get these responses from the usual offenders, but I'm still holding out hope that someone has actually tested this. If for no other reason than my satisfaction. -

Fair assumption, but what I'm after is someone who has done a real world test. I can't deal with the what if lol I was also considering buying one then making a mould so we can all just ave one because it looks nice -
I am slightly obsessed with the idea of this for some reason after selling off my ARC box to go back to stock (with Apexi panel filter). http://www.rhdjapan.com/nismo-rb26dett-engine-parts-r-tune-air-cleaner-duct.html Has anyone ever done a back to back dyno test vs the stock snorkel? I'm interested if it makes any different what so ever. Car will be running -9s on stock intake piping. I'm mostly interested in response.

Have you been burned by fibreglass before? The guards bar, and bonnet on my car are fibreglass and they seem to fit/look fine and I'm a picky bastard. Just don't buy cheap shit fibreglass. -

Fibreglass rear pods would be fine. not an impact area, no flex there etc. No idea if mine were oem or not, but you can't have an R33 GT-R without them. -
