  1. Didn't get far on the power brace last night, cleaned up the castor brackets and reinforcement plates and tacked in after working out where the rod wants to sit. Need a second set of hands or some of those screw up hoist pads used in exhaust work to tack the rod in place - will rejig the setup and have another go. Considered doing it on the bench, but the angles cut on the rod are not perfect vs the angle of the castor brackets (very very close) and the brackets themselves have taken a few hits and would not sit flat on a bench anyway so will tack the rod in place on the car then remove the lot as 1 piece to finish those welds and put the gusseted plates into the brackets themselves. Bonus pick of the "new" fabbing workbench - needs a tidy up and some mods before it goes in to service. I've got some flat steel to put a big edge on the back of it and some SHS to go in under the top itself for extra support I'll likely cut one section out at the bottom so I can slide stuff under it.
  2. Looks good, but I can't help but get the feeling that maybe you might consider selling this car if the money was right and then buying a euro, just a hunch? OR could it be that you've told us this 40000000000000 damn times 😅 Just list it for sale for the money you would want to sell it, if it sells go buy euro and while it's not selling keep modding this and enjoying it.
  3. GKtech power brace bits are here but before I get in to that I have another project. A mate, for my recent milestone birthday, was nice enough to pick me up an old 5mm steel top work bench and some extra bits to clean it up and turn it into a little fabbing workbench - now that I'm doing a bit more welding etc. Will snap some pics when I'm in the shed next, but needs an edge on the back, bit of a cleanup and a few small mods to work in my space. Will be great to have a proper steel workbench as my other benches are wood and where I've been doing the fab stuff is just the tops of some steel shelves so the tops are very thin/flimsy. R33 boi test fitted my wheels to determine clearances, +0 might be too aggressive as he was hoping to not need flares/modify original guards as the car is very clean and straight - who can tell me what 18x10s fit under stock guards and leave space for decent size brakes and slicks? +10 offset and some camber "might" get us there....
  4. Awesome! Keep moving forward 👌
  5. Solid progress well done +1 get a hoist, cold concrete can F right off. I still have my creeper but unless the car is up high on stands it can be a squeeze to get it under with enough space to work.
  6. The current skirts are banged up and a bit big/ugly for my tastes, the rear bumper has this gnarly warp in it and the front bar is factory CA lol We each own our own cars, we are just a group of mates (15+yrs) who help each other and share the passion.
  7. Already know they clear by miles, see earlier pic. At +10 they had maybe 2-3mm clearance which is why I went +0 for margin/more camber (at knuckle) if needed etc.
  8. It can work when painted I think. I need a new body kit anyway, but I would ultimately like to keep the factory metal guards for some dumb reason?
  9. We've already discussed this "as a team" as NCR is 3 of us, my build is just most active at the moment but there's an RB30 R33 @BrendanR33 and a Weekend warrior 370z guy. the 295 comment is really about having to run semis for WTAC or any other event that requires it. I didn't think I "needed" wider guards up front, but the rear is looking very likely thought I could get away with those 50mm flares that I said I hated the look of lol
  10. I think 10" is the minimum so I'm not surprised.
  11. I agree, but cutting through an angle would be very fiddly and probs require more material than I have here to work with. The Kelway ones kinda take this into account a little. The slicks are only 270s but I can run p to a 295 for WTAC based on weight, but that might be pushing it on a 10" Your guards would be bigger than mine too, so maybe I do need ot just bite the bullet and slam'em in.
  12. Yeah I have no issues with that side of it, it's more about do I need it/will it be a benefit as it's a fair body of work. How big are your wheels? Did you "need" tubs or did you just get them like I did because you thought you would lol
  13. NM, found them on your FB. Doesn't show me where you put everything though.
  14. No tubs there. You got some easily accessible pics of your bay?
  15. Well bloody hell that all sounds like a lot of work. I know it "had" about 8deg of castor in it and it "Had" -3.5 camber but the camber especially will be out now with extended LCAs (I left the lock stops off also...) What did you mean by "Obviously you've dealt with the inner shoulder on control arm already"
  16. This update only on SAU because forums are the best for build threads so there will always be some extra info/details etc here. Bit of fiddling last night, wheels on up front, car movable again and back on hoist trying to work out if I actually need these tubs or not, having a hard time figuring it out (tubs are a lot of work and requires removal/change of lots of stuff in the bay too). Dale reckons I need at least 75mm of travel so I can try and work back off that, a full lock to lock saw minor contact front and rear on the plastic guard liner/quarter panel/body kit but otherwise nothing major. That was all static though, not under compression. I got them as I was told I would def need them for these size tyres so maybe I am underestimating how hard the car will lean on slicks. Also, ordered gktech castor arm braces and the bar to make my own nismo power brace thing to help resist chassis movement. I am planning on having the cage come through the firewall to the shock towers also. I'm waiting on ATP to come back to me as I assume I just have to put pressure on the tub and tack it in to place, but that profile looks very different! Added pic of his completed tubs for context.
  17. How bout now 😍 Just collected, the other 2 are going to a mate for test fitting.
  18. Check the fitment on this rice boi ❤️ Could have gotten away with +20 in the rear for sure but wanted square rims and needed +0 for that epic front coilover clearance - the +20s i tested barely had 2-3mm and +10 would only work with mild camber. We'll see if we get away with those 50mm flares or wider guards - I have tubs for the front also. Oh and my LCAs went in perfect and have *perfect* clearance for tools on the swaybar/castor nuts.
  19. Cheers, im thinking white or silver. I'd really prefer silver because that's my jam but a white car will work better with the NCR logo and some vinyls I think.
