  1. Wow, super gay, that's some "mate" you have there =\ At least he's willing to pay the damages. lol Go for it! Make sure you come say hey btw. Do it! See above Sif choose skiing over Motorsport...
  2. Kez... fastest reply in the west! You didn't answer my FB query about how you did it and what it actually was etc.
  3. The last fun day for the year will be held on the 13th of December, a Sunday, so for anyone looking for some very cheap track time put this on your calendar. This is an 80% circuit event (drive too hard or recklessly and you will be black flagged). You will be cutting laps of the track and having fun and remember this is not a race and people driving as such will be black flagged - I know from experience 0_0 I'll be there in the SlowVia for some fun and to give the missus a bit of track time, who else is going? For those who've never been before I'll throw up a few quick points. - There is no timing - There are quite a few cars on the track at any one time - There will DEFINITELY be some idiots with no idea about driving on or off the track attending this event - There will be passenger sessions in which a roll cage is not required (I have confirmed this with Winton) - Sessions are around 30mins and alternate between driver only and passengers - Learners/Kids get a session over lunch where they can circulate behind a safety car - It's crazy cheap at around $30 and there are no race licensing requirements. - Your car will have to pass scrutineering, bringing a bomb for fun will not impress officials. That covers some of the common questions, you can hit the FAQ's at the Winton site HERE Hope to see you all there.
  4. Old server got thrown out, newer server is now in use. Other bits will sit in the cupboard gathering some more dust, thread can be closed
  5. First server is 2.2GHz P4, 884MB ECC RAM (3x 256 1x 128), 3x 40GB IDE (2x maxtor 1x seagate) plus all the normal server bits like on board RAID, GB ethernet etc. Is missing some optical drive slot covers OK Guys this is getting chucked out so if someone local wants speak up now as it's going in the bin at work tomorrow. 0427 928 304 is probably best.
  6. Price drops! Seats $50 Master Cylinder $150
  7. First server is 2.2GHz P4, 884MB ECC RAM (3x 256 1x 128), 3x 40GB IDE (2x maxtor 1x seagate) plus all the normal server bits like on board RAID, GB ethernet etc. Is missing some optical drive slot covers The system above is going to be binned in a week if there are no takers. If you're after any of those parts or the system itself then make me an offer, doubtful I'll say no lol Cheers
  8. lol sorry mate, got a few things on at the moment leaving with very little of the two things needed to enjoy cars, time and money The fun days are good, it can geta bit crowded and don't expect everyone to sue common sense but as Russ said stick around til the end and it gets better plus there are a lot of street only cars so you can have fun rounding them up. A big plus is you can take passengers (in the dedicated sessions) without a roll cage. I've only been to one and I had one incident all day when a guy an an XR6T almost tore of the front of my GTR because he just wasn't paying attention. So I gave him the finger and nailed the throttle to get some distance between us (what ah hero I am...). Nothing more came of it. Like any motorsport, there are risks. Assume everyone is a knob who will crash into and drive defensively and you should be fine. Your biggest enemy is probably yourself, be smart about when to overtake and keep a good eye on your mirrors. Sweet dude, see you there.
  9. I can't make this one and I think this is it for the year? I should be at the Winton Fun Day on the 13th of December though...
  10. Yep, Pics below, note the broken clips and the crack, I thought this was in better condition so I've made sure to take photos of the blemishes. Nothing to hide here
  11. Forgot to add, I'm in Albury/Wodonga
  12. Hi guys, Cleaning out accumulated PC gear so am bundling it all up and shipping it out! I have 2 fairly complete server systems here and some other random bits. Systems are a Compaq ML310 and a HP ML310 (different generations of machines) I'll list the parts in each so you know what's on offer but list the bundles below. Both systems are fully functioning servers and could be used as such if you wanted to. If you're keen on the whole box let me know ASAP. First server is 2.2GHz P4, 884MB ECC RAM (2x 256 1x 128), 3x 40GB IDE (2x maxtor 1x seagate) plus all the normal server bits like on board RAID, GB ethernet etc. Is missing some optical drive slot covers Second server is the better of the two 3.2Ghz P4 HT, 2GB DDR RAM (2x 1GB Modules - Hynix with genuine HP stickers), 2x 80GB Maxtor SATA HDD's (in hot swap caddies and has 2 more spare), Intel SATA RAID Controller (6 ports), 35GB REV Drive (no tapes) and also a genuine 2003 SBS Premium License with 5 CAL's is stuck on the case (case is missing a side panel) includes standard optical drive also. You can have the first system for $100 complete and the second one for $200, postage would be extra and these things are not light. You could also come get them etc, I'll do what I can to help. OR I can part them out and sell the innards, open to offers also just want this gear gone. 2x 80gb Maxtor in caddies, including both spare caddies, and the Intel SATA RAID Controller - $90 Delivered 3x 40GB IDE HDD's - $50 Delivered 2.2GHz P4 + 884MB ECC Ram - $50 Delivered 3.2GHz P4 HT + 2GB DDR RAM - $90 Delivered On the above, heatsink and fan can be included but would be specific to the board which you can have for an extra $10 35GB REV Drive - $30 Delivered (or add it to another bundle for $20) SBS 2003 Premium License, including 5 CAL's $?? Talk to me about this, dunno how to pass it on as the sticker is affixed to the case but we can work something out As you can see I'm very flexible, make me an offer and we'll work something out. What doesn't sell gets thrown out. Other parts I have around. 1x AMD Athlon 4200x2 2.2GHz Dual Core CPU, fan and heatsink and 2x Asus A8N-E Ultra Mobo's (have box for one mobo including manual etc) Either one of the mobo's is bad or the cpu is bad, one of the boards was bought for $100 as a refurb unit on ebay. Take the lot for $50 delivered. 1x XFX 7600GTX 256MB Video Card including box and manuals etc - $50 delivered Prices can be adjusted for those who can pickup or arrange collection etc, just drop me a PM and we'll go from there. If you have any questions, want pictures, want to make an offer etc i can be reached at 0427 928 304, via PM or via email at [email protected] and it's first in best dressed =)
  13. Updates! Need this stuff gone. **Price Update** 2x R32 GTS-T Type M seats (inc rails) - $50 - Very good condition, one tiny cig burn on drivers seat as shown below. Disregard the light dents in the bases, it's because I had them sitting upside down on each other. The light circle in the headrest of seat on the right is from the camera. More pics as requested. EDIT - These don't recline forward, suspect these are 4 door seats? **Price Update** 1x S13 Brake Master Cylinder - $150 DELIVERED - As new condition, have receipt for full rebuild totaling just under $300. Was used for one lap around the block and swapped out for bigger item needed for my larger calipers. Has been kept 'wet' to keep the seals in perfect condition. (Beware anyone trying to sell a master that's been dry for any length of time)
  14. +1 for remove and clean it all for starters
  15. Just wondering if there's still oil through the inlet system that's being burned off. If there was a lot of oil in the turbo then there should have been plenty of oil in the catch and/or cooler if it was oil seals from the turbo. Where was the oil in the turbo? On the compresser wheel side or the exhust wheel side? I'd be thinking the hot side (exhaust) would be too hot to leave much trace of oil unless it was just drinking it like mad. Keep an eye on your oil levels during your testing in case it is chewing through it. You might want to pull the inlet piping to and from the turbo/cooler/plenum and clean it all out. My silvia had oil coming out of the cooler core after enough track days and blow by (it's an old CA). I put a catch can in, made up an internal baffle for it and that sorted it. If your catch can isn't baffled it won't be doing much for you either but if it was loads of blow by the atmo filter would be drenched. More inspection/testing is required. Good luck and keep us posted so others can benefit from your findings Cheers
  16. Made for some good footage and thankfully no cars were harmed ni the making of this documentary
  17. I won't be making this one, got some other committments If I'm lucky I'll make the Winton funday in December.
  18. Hey guys, Clearing out some bits in the garage. Prices do not include postage and I'm hapy to hear offers if you have'em. Happy to freight at your expense and pickup is fine from Albury Wodonga. 2x R32 GTS-T Type M seats (inc rails) - $99 - Very good condition, one tiny cig burn on drivers seat as shown below. Disregard the light dents in the bases, it's because I had them sitting upside down on each other. The light circle in the headrest of seat on the right is from the camera. More pics as requested. These don't recline forward, suspect these are 4 door seats? 1x S13 Brake Master Cylinder - $199 - As new condition, have receipt for full rebuild totaling just under $300. Was used for one lap around the block and swapped out for bigger item needed for my larger calipers. Has been kept 'wet' to keep the seals in perfect condition. (Beware anyone trying to sell a master that's been dry for any length of time) 1x pair of R33 indicator/wiper stalks - $35 the pair - Left over from my R33 days (I bought a Series II and it came with these Series 1 stalks which meant I couldn't use the driving lights or rear wiper). 1x S13 Factory Grill - $20 - swapped out for Nismo style grill. 1x Pair rear camber arms - $20 the pair - Replaced with ISC items for more adjustment. 1x Complete S13 shocks/springs - Best offer? - Bushes are gone in the rears, shocks themselves don't appear to be leaking and were only replaced as I wanted to start tracking the car - Seemed fine on the street. Not expecting much for these and will favour people who can come get them. Bonus! Anyone buying one of the more expensive items. (Seats or Master) Can take their pick of the indicator stalks, rear camber arms or the grill as freebie. I can be reached via PM, email at [email protected] or on 0427 928 304
  19. FYI you can also follow this convo over at NS here Duncan. gslrallysport is the distributor who sold me the pads so you can follow what's going on. http://nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?s...p;#entry5422657
  20. Hmm, should deffo be above minimum thickness as they are only a few months old and have only done 400k's or so, 95% of that at events though. I'd have to take the caliper off and inspect the pads to get a clear idea of how the pads are wearing. At this stage all I can see is the rotor face and a nice groove worn in near the outside edge, giving the rotor a noticeable lip. I'm also talking to the place I bought the pads from, a rally team up QLD way qho distribute the QFM's and he doesn't think it sounds right. Some more investigation is required.
  21. Hmm, so what's the maintenance process then? keep getting the rotors machine so the groove doesn't get too deep? It can be felt easily already.
  22. Hey guys, Just curious to see what others are finding in the way of rotor wear. I've got S15 calipers and slotted rotors (from midnight mods) with the QFM race spec pad (the 700 degree ones) on an S13. At the back it's just standard S13 calipers with the same slotted rotors and pads. Up front I'm noticing that after only 2 track days, one drift day, and one DECA that I'm getting quite a groove in the top edge of the rotor right near the lip. I don't want to chew threw front rotors like that and it feels like a reasonable groove already so are others experiencing this also? Is this just a bi-product of the harsher pads and hard braking from speed? Just seems to be a lot of pressure being applied to the outside edge of the rotor. Both fronts are the same and both sides of each front rotor are also the same and I'm confident the pads are in the right way. Thoughts? Cheers
  23. But I thought that night we shared meant something? You didn't think all that was for free did you?! lol Well there you go, my bad, I thought I'd sorted that when I got all my licenses together but I think I got the Vicdrift membership instead as I was intending on going drift spec with the car then realised I like circuit much more. I'll get onto the SAU membership shortly, Thanks Bec lol easily excited much?
  24. Matt: why don't I appear on the list. Sure I was slow but I was faster than some of the times on there in my class lol
