  1. lol I take it you're not the type to us AC while staging Dane?
  2. OK I'll turn the knife a bit more then and say maybe you're just not consistent enough with your lap times to get the gain Though I'm saying that purely for the comical value as I'm in the exact same boat Hmm...
  3. Side pipe is another option but that does cost more money, removing the AC in the short term is free. (Will cost to get re-gassed later though) Sounds like you're pretty serious lol I think that's half my issue. Wanting to get busy on it but not wanting to go too far due to issues arising with re-sale. Sure it's reg'd but not many people will want a fully stripped out 'street' car lol No cooling issues thus far (did have some oil issues but fitted a cooler) but I bouht it in the cooler months, only had it since May or so? The radiator appears to be a brand new item. I didn't know anyone ever ran with the a/c on for track days. Am I alone in thinking that seems a bit 'soft'? Sorry no nice way to say it =\
  4. I'm contemplating ditching all the engine bay components of the air con system but from what I have read through searching, there's only 10kg's worth of gear and bugger all gained from not having the belt attached. Sound about right? My car is a dedicated track/fun S13 but it is still street reg'd (though not road worthy I'm sure). I've done some basic weight reduction stuff like removing all the boot stuff, spare wheel, jack, rear seats, rear speakers and parcel shelf, upgraded the drivers seat and put some volks on it but that's mainly in the rear so any more weight removed should probably come from up front. Who has done this and what did you actually find afterward, worth the effort? The issue for me is not comfort as I don't drive it on the street but more about re-sale when it comes time to let it go. FYI my car is only a CA18DET with a turbo back exhaust, front mount and a bit of boost. I realise I will gain more from a turbo upgrade etc and that's coming, just interested in the air con removal for the moment.
  5. BUMP - Make me an offer guys, this stuff has to go.
  6. I'm currently sitting in my new Velo I put it on top of my office chair and I'm working in it lol. Yay
  7. Great success http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wh...le-t282639.html Those Volks are now in my garage.
  8. Great success http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wh...le-t282639.html Those Volks are now in my garage. Test fitted a front rim this morning and they clear the coilovers and the bigger calipers
  9. Given the Volks are in my garage now you can probably list these as sold
  10. Cracked the sh1ts and just bought this and some side mounts. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...sid=p2761.l1259
  11. Yep, the fakes are shown with a cloth behind them in most cases.
  12. Go here http://www.bride-jp.com/ then click this COPY商品にご注意下さい (third from the top or so) then choose a model have a browse
  13. I thought so too, but I'd rather not risk it.
  14. From what I have seen there's a few things. The Bride tag is missing the "made in japan" part the harness hole on the bottom should have a hard plastic surround. the quality of the stitching isn't the same, the material on the cusions is slightly different and the location of the velcro is also different. There's no sticker above the left hand (when looking at the seat dead on) harness hole either that's just for starters.
  15. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Br...ke-t285987.html putting it to the masses with a heap more pics
  16. Going for $500, reckons he paid $1200 odd for it and it's still in plastic (has gotten a bit dusty from being stored at a panel beaters) has the plastic still on the back of it too. Said he bought it and was too big for it. I've looked at countless threads and if it is fake it appears to be a better quality fake than some I am seeing. The hole in the base and the surround on that seems a bit dodge as does the location of the velcro (according to this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Br...html&st=20). And is a fake worth $500 is the other question when I could go buy a base model cobra fixed back with mounts for $570. (But I don't tjhink it can be used with rails..
  17. I dunno... I'm not 100% on this. In person the colours of the seat (the shoulder protection bolsters) and the cushions are much darker and looks like the bride PDF's (blame flash for that) The tag looks good but there's no sticker above the harness hole on the seat itself. He said it cost him around $1200 bucks but that it was too small for him so he just bought a bigger seat.
  18. I went back and took some pics (attached) Then compared that with the "how to tell a fake" images on the bride website. http://www.bride-jp.com/ click on COPY商品にご注意下さい third from the top on the left The seat is a VIOS3 from what I can compare. It's got the same silver back as the genuine on in the pics also. The seat is a little dusty as it's been stored at a panel shop, I'm filthy from going there lol
  19. The seller reckons he paid $1200 odd for it but it's too small for him. I will go check it out again this morning now that I know what I'm looking for replica wise. MY query is more about how to tell if they are too tight. I know it should be snug but I can't seem to find any rule of thumb for how tight is tight enough or too tight. I had to wiggle a little bit to fit into this one but once i stretched my legs out into the driving position it was a bit better but I still felt notable pressure on the upper leg bone beneath the hips.
  20. Hmm how tight is too tight. I was offered a brand new Bride low max for $500 today, guy who bought it didn't realise the sizing and it's a snug fit for me. I do feel some pressure on the ball of the bone at the top of the thigh (on the sides) but i dunno if that's good or not. Is there a rule of thumb for how tight is right? It's brand new and very cheap =\ Offered mates rates as it's through a friend of a friend. Looks like this http://www.more-japan.com/files/d_621.jpg I'm not sure exactly what model it is but I'm wondering if it's a replica. I'm looking at the bride website now.
  21. Yeah have been checking there as well. A PRO2000 for under $300 is crazy, aren't they like 1200-1400 new? Shit, that's an awesome price even if it is ugly as sin
  22. Have you had any luck finding a crazy deal? I had a GP90 lined up for very good dollars but a local buyer came and paid cash and picked it up over the weekend while I was still getting freight quotes
  23. [email protected] <-- is my msn Feel like going to check out these Volks in Doncaster? lol he said they are sound structurally though and he seems genuine as I already told him I would be pissed off if I drove down and they were shit. Scratches and marks I don't mind though, they are track rims after all. I'm also happy to inspect things/take pics etc for people up here also. Hahah, damn, would have been great to know that
  24. I drove down to melb last weekend to buy those exact rims. They were advertised as 8" all round but are only 7" on the front ()ad has since been fixed). That's too narrow up front so I drove 6hrs for nothing... Thanks for the find though, I did intend on buying those. Looks like I'm buying the Volks.
