A mate of mine is on his 4th LS. His 2nd with the accumulator. TBF he is door to door racing for 10-15 laps per session.

Agree, same reason I lusted after one for a while. Sometimes I think I should just buy the thing, enjoy it for 1 year or 2 then move it on and realistically my chances of seeing the failure I am fretting about would be slim. Dry sump isn't the be all and end all, I've seen dry sumped cars spin bearings too due to poor setup of the dry sump system. Nissan's suffer excess crankcase pressure so equalizing that is paramount. In the CA, which is still an original bottom end, I just did it with a mess of pipes and 2 separate breathing systems (top and bottom) problem solved. It could be done neater but it was a proof of concept at the time. I also tested crankcase evac kits (Morosso) and did not have good results. Accumulators don't address the root cause, they just throw oil back in when the issue is most prevalent. They also fail, have seen spun bearings on cars fitted with them. Nothing is fool proof. This is why we have engine protection.... See above. Would've helped no doubt. I dont think there's any prizes for guessing this will be an oil starvation issue ? Good luck with the house sellz, get dat paper then see where you're at. Have you got a new place sorted already?

"To be fair, this motor has BUILT BY JOHHNY THE SAVAGE, and was making 3x the power the engine was designed for. Johnny ALSO JUST WENT FULL SEND WHEN IT WAS PROBS SUFFERING OIL STARVATION LIKE MANY RBs DO AT THE TRACK" Fixed your post Duncan ?

You're f**king kidding me. Dibs on cool shit when you part it out? I am very sorry for your loss, for reals.

Dose knows I'm good for the $$ I've had to pay him for his services before.... ? Rotors do look average.

I know there's likely more skill in drag racing, getting a car to leave well etc, but I do wish there was some roll racing closer to me. It seems like a great way to blow off some steam with your mates, hear angry spooly boi noises, trap some fun km/h and hopefully not be as rough on the car as hard launches are.

Well I'm stoked to see the car out and about being used, well done. Glad it didn't blow a box and as you said roll racing is more gentle, being mechanically sympathetic will help, good fluid etc etc it all helps. I've always liked the saying, the candle the burns twice as bright lasts half as long so while it's great it didn't fail, it has done barely any k's under load and down this way my experience has been they fail under track conditions just because it's harder and the loads are sustained for longer. It will fail at some point, everything mechanical does, and it won't be a surprise or a big deal because it's simply out of spec and we are all constantly pushing shit out of spec then replacing those weak links, get as much enjoyment out of it as you can until that point I reckon. How are you finding the power delivery and general driving experience vs the GT-R? I've always found that everything feels a bit more raw in a Silvia, GT-R puts down and utilises power so differently - I think that's where the comments come from GTR people saying you need at least 400 or 500kw or what ever power to make a GT-R fun, because they are deceptively good at harnessing greater power levels.

Tidy.

*shrug* I have no first hand experience so I can only go off what I see online. I'll prob go GTX2 for abuse factor and price, I have dumped too much coin on this long block already lol

Finalise the bottom end before you choose a turbo, compression in particular. The 7670 would likely be a better choice of the EFRs, but this is a Garrett thread and G series on VET results are not plentiful yet - I'm watching and waiting as your engine and mine sound similar, though I'm opting for a built bottom straight up. So far the G series results on any other 4cyl look to be "good", an incremental improvement across the board vs the older tech. GTX2 is still a great choice also. I shy away from EFR in track conditions due to questions around wheel speed/heat capabilities. It seems EFR are absolutely the king of the street though, response/power etc.
