I got 2 updates in 2 threads, both posts from you, both posts banging on about Samsonas... Do you get a commission or what?

They've had a good run, reviews online are not nearly as favourable and the interior felt like shit plastic, crap foam in seats etc. Glad they've had a good run, I'm jealous of power and economy

I don't even have an aftermarket FPR currently lol plenty of work to do on fuel system when the time comes, it's an area I really know SFA about. Current setup is a 2L surge with a 460lph Walbro and a 255lph lift pump in the tank with some braided lines here and there. -

I'd have to drive it for that ? -
I'm OK with that, but when is that gonna be mainstream in actual proper offroad capable vehicles with reasonable range? 3yrs? 5yrs? 10? Until then, Petrol it is.

We've been over this. I get a phat car allowance and in normal usage the economy difference is negligible in terms of TCO over the life of the vehicle vs things like depreciation, cost of service/repair. Petrol is much nicer to drive to me, smoother, quieter, faster, doesn't stink or rattle everywhere. Modern diesel cost more to service and repair and have greater potential for shit to go wrong. A big NA petrol, especially a Toyota one, is immensely reliable and requires extremely little in terms of service or repair. Look around and you'll see more and more diesel engines being phased out of commuter vehicles, including the big yank tanks in the states. Direct injection petrol will replace them, I'd prefer no direct injection either, but it's a lesser evil than DPFs, EGRs, insanely high pressure expensive fuel pumps, mandatory second fuel filters/water traps, etc etc. Look at Y62 vs LC200 towing test, 2T up Hotham, the Y62 used slightly less fuel, but has 300kw on tap to play with. I know you're a big diesel VAG man, but it's a no from me and let's be real, I don't "enjoy" any of them and I test drove them all. Anything based on a ute drives like shit compared to a proper wagon and in the end they are all a compromise. I chose a Toyota because of everything I drove at the time for 30k or less it was the comfiest, quietest, and "went" the best and now modified it's just that bit better. It just needs a V8 in it

I'm yet to tow the car with the Prado (Petrol, I hate diesel) but I can't imagine it's gonna blow me away with the same power and less torque than my old Territory, 1 less gear, and easily 3-400kg more weight. I did do the intake and tune it but might get an exhaust yet to help. I've got a steep dirt driveway and with the work I do around the property and some offroad adventuring etc, I needed ground clearance and low range which rules out a lot of soft roaders that would be better towers on the highway. I was impressed with the power of the Jeep, but had doubts about it lasting. I was looking at a V8 200, but with even more weight and size, I can't make that work on my property =\ So a slow Prado it is for now.

No engine updates bu the daily got some new tech because Toyota have the most dated interiors ever. Went baller by spending $30 extra to buy a front camera too. I'm not even sure the space shuttle has a front AND rear cam?! -

It'll just get what's needed. No point building a 1000hp fuel system for an engine that will never get there. Surge tank isn't rocket science either at this power. Sounds like I might need to budget for lines, I'm not keen on big base pressures. -
That's all I have tyre wise. What lift? They're AWD right? No low range?
-
340 is legit impressive. Did you use it offroad? I need a little clearance and at least some half decent all terrains at my place. I get by with 2" lift and K02s but have a winch as backup lol I only care because there's a petrol Q7 available

The Jeep is actually a cracking drive, but feels like it's built to last 3yrs from new tops lol

I was just thinking that... Didn't you start the tow thread originally? Why is your convertible barbie car going to be on the Haltech series and what ep. -

Are you saying the trailer alone weighs 1200kg? That's still only 2.8t. Got a big sexy enclosed jobby? -

A Camry will tow 1200kg lol New Dmax at least looks better than the old one, nfi about how good it is. A mate has a DMAX for work and an MUX for home and loves them both. I tried MUX, good value, but drives like a ute. -

Ahh, yeah 120s were down 20-30kw's on the 1GR used in mine, plus mine is tuned/intake to help a bit. Still slow, just not "as" slow. The 3L piston breaker is f**king anemic and couldn't pull the skin off rice custard. A v12 would be sexual. I do get down to Shep a bit for work, are you down that way? -

I'd be tempted to drive it... just to check it out you know I've looked at Q7s lots of time for some reason. -

Mine is only a GXL so it's just airflow in there, will be AC if you have it on, but it's not an actual fridge like Kak/VX. What year model did you have, wanna know if it was the same as my current one so I know how shit it's gonna be towing 2T lol -

Assume it was a diesel fatz, they are even worse than my petrol. I live in the hills too and have a really steep dirty driveway so towing the Silvia in and out of town is going to be interesting when I actually get to use the car again. Y62 is too big for me/my property so I really just want the Lexus V8 version of my car lol
