  1. It's not the car, it's the hassleof dealing with the car. No space/hoist/distance to track. I am going to go against the grain and say he should sell it off and buy something he can use/enjoy.
  2. It would make sense to have it be approved I guess, just to keep options open. Calling a guy today, see what he says.
  3. I'd like to hear those results...
  4. Am doing, but I always like some impartial advice and previous experience.
  5. Building a decent engine and am tossing up a roling shell vs making changes to the current car (as I need a different box, maybe tubbed, cage upgrade, 5 stud conversion, brake upgrade etc) and one thing I'm unsure about is what to do with the cage situation. Car currently has a welded single piece half cage with a diagonal in the back stays and the main hoop plus a harness bar. It's bolted down to welded plates in the car. So maybe a bit better than your average bolt in half cage? I'm not competing at the highest level and if I do keep this chassis had considered the following options. - Have current cage modified with front legs/side intrusion and some basic roof bars. - Full AGI bolt in. - Find a rolling shell that has all the other gear including a full cage. Is it feasible to have an existing cage modified in that way or does it just turn out costing as much as a full bolt in? Current Cage, yes that rear firewall hole and parcel shelf is now sheeted in.
  6. Builder sent me this! Just hoping nothing got damaged.
  7. You might get a kart in there with seats flat but it wouldn't sit flat. Towels and blankets to cover things a d chuck it in. I have tapped into the speed wire on the ca18 ecu, just used a wire diagram from the FSM.
  8. Not at all, I buy and sell heaps of shit and I have never had anywhere near this level of drama sending something. Also have never had a company justr ranomly hand over my stuff to someone else, without first consulting me. Anyway, hopefully the company who has it now just bloody delivers it.
  9. So, 2 weeks after dropping my gear off at the freight place, not only has he not delivered it, but now it's been given to another freight company in Sydney to deliver because he just couldn't manage to make a call and arrange a time to deliver it... Not stoked.
  10. Stock bottom?! Wasn't it done with the $$$$$ head? Assumed stock box would be removed as nobody would expect it to last behind anything decent, especially a 6spd.
  11. What power are you expecting from this setup as I've been looking at turbos...
  12. My 2 cents, do not ever put NS-2R on your car, they are rubbish in all conditions, both treadwear versions. They would be the last choice of those street tyre options. Be intertesting to see how you go on the AR1, I think they were happier on a lighter car. Sidewall may not be up to a heavier rig with more grunt.
  13. Currently going back and forth between DM and the freight company to try and get this shit delivered. Freight company keeps leaving it til late in the day before calling, including late last night, to try and arrange delivery for the next day, despite me telling them he needs more notice than that. I dropped that stuff off on the 7th... Why is it so hard for tradie types to follow basic intructions? It does my head in. Seems I have stuffed another battery im the silvia also by letting it get flattened as I went down to start it, having done that rejuvenate charge 2 weeks ago, and it wouldn't crank. I will try again and leave it a week and see if it can hold a charge that long. Thing I might change to a more forgiving battery type and forget the massive 1-2kg saving.
  14. Nankang AR1 are a solid budget option, I ran those last season in 255 R17, won my class on that single set of tyres and was still setting PB's at the end of the season. They are very sensitive to tyre pressures vs grip though and seems to vary widely depending on weight of the car and camber. Went back to an old set of 235 RS-Rs for one session while I was doing some testing and almost died lol
  15. Spoke with DM Motorsport, told there's no huge rush on the engine as I have so much other stuff to do that this car is not going anywhere for quite a while. Block will be CNC'd with the next batch rather than being rushed through etc. Got out for some snow play on the weekend, was good, threw many snow balls.
  16. All the parts are now with the freight company, expecting delivery to occur next week. Don't worry, as I get progress pics you'll get them too. Shout out to my man @Dose Pipe Sutututu for yet again hooking me up with the best pricing on some parts I needed drop shipped to the destination. Between the Silvia and the GT-R You've saved me some good $$ and made buying stuff easier. Also, check out this engine oil cap breather combo I came across, looks like an interesting bit of gear.
  17. Checklist completed and everything boxed up, aiming to drop it off Wednesday morning to the depot. Had to remove/find a couple extra parts and was reminded how much cool shit is in those boxes. Also finished winch install, happy with how it came out, need to spool it on under tension and do some testing.
