  1. I didn't say you were, I said it might make you feel better (than you are currently). So you can go from happy to stoked, or indifferent to slightly bemused. I'm just here to help
  2. I got some new tyres if that makes you feel better?
  3. So, car looks fat now, I love it. I put a vote to my mates and the consensus seems to be centre caps yes, stickers no, which I'm inclined to agree with, though there is something I like about no caps. Guard flaring required looks less dramatic when i put the rim back to -3.5 camber, but I still want clearance to be able to lower the camber for tuning purposes. That will be the next step. Inner clearance is less than a finger width, but I can't see the tyre moving around that much? Inner guard plastics are going to get gobbled up a little and the passenger side has my BOV and a vac hose that's at risk, I might have to drop a little castor out.
  4. Have had a shitful cold all last week and given what's on my agenda this week, I spent most of the weekend specifically dedicated to trying to kick it. Didn't get a heap done on the car but did manage to get the splitter to a point where I'm happy. Ran some M8 all thread down through the inner guards and lined up with the existing holes in the bottom of the guards and into the splitter. Seems a lot firmer now. Added some little gurney flaps on each side, see if that helps at all. I'll try and get stuck into the wheels a bit more this week.
  5. Cheers. My only concern was that I sit fairly upright so wanted to get the right angle.
  6. Oh and don't forget that is a purely e85 result, not 98.
  7. When I spoke to Kelford, showed him my entire setup and current graphs and had him recommend me a cam, he was spot on with the expected power gain and end result. The tuner I use has an 8s VL tuned on the same dyno that makes about 1000hp. Times seem to match the power. I think my car is a little unique compare to other -9 setups, people usually have some but not all of the bits. N1 manifolds, big mofo pods (which made a dyno tested 14rwkw gain at the 330kw mark as we proved the airbox was a restriction). I have hard suction pipes, plazmaman and maybe most importantly, the biggest bolt on dumps I could get (3" HPI) into a HPI front pipe which is 3" off each turbo, then 3.5" at the merge and for the entire remainder of the exhaust. Plus I run Kelford cams, where as everyone else seems to run Tomei and hate them. It's a dyno dynamics though, so you could easily take off a few KW on a Mainline. The car is the sum of a slightly unique set of researched parts and talking to people who actually know their shit.
  8. I guess? You seem pretty happy to make blanket statements and single out one brand and I'm pretty happy driving a working car?
  9. I think we've done our part keeping this thread at the top of the build section.
  10. That must be it then, I can't there being any possibility that it's just working properly. I'll be ready to replace the ECU when I put my TH400 in.
  11. My tuner must be amazing to tune around what some people have described as the symptoms. I'll let him know.
  12. He might have given me an ear bashing on FB about it already? Wonder why my car hasn't seen it. Maybe the key is don't drive it.
  13. Haltech "claim" not an issue with Platinum Pro, but was a problem on earlier ECUs, guess I'll find out it ever happens. So I guess the bombshell here is old shit can be problematic... but new shit has less issues.. Who knew!
  14. For anyone else playing along re timing issue. A good unbiased thread here. Unsurprisingly issues occurs on a number of ECUs, not limited to Haltech, and even features our OP(and others) claiming the same issue on a PowerFC, madness... Seems like most ECU manufacturers and Tuners were aware of and had produces solutions to address it, including modified/better CAS discs, crank triggers, etc. Too much was said for me to not look into it as a precaution - So thanks for that even if your caps are flat.
  15. Rims look slightly less shit with better tyres on them.
  16. Down a back alley. I'm still sore...
  17. I have limited ECU and tuning experience but have had no issues to date that were ECU related.
  18. You sound like a guy who's opinion can definitely be trusted.
  19. I could use one of the cores but with a suitable rear housing
  20. Turbine map shows that they won't live long at 25PSI but see how you go.
  21. I bet all cases of timing related issue are definitely tested properly as being the ECU for sure. So how much better does your car run since switching?
