  1. You're best calling them up and asking for a quote. Yellow pages ftw. Depends on the computer, etc. as well. A more comprehensive computer such as a Wolf 3D, autronic or motec will cost more to setup than something like a microtech, because there are more parameters to load up. From experience of getting a full tune for a 4g63 motor with a wolf 3d, most places quoted me about $600 - just as a ballpark figure.
  2. A full tune is a tune from scratch, inc. cold starts, etc. A tune up is tweaking the existing tune to get more out of it. As to power/fuel economy/emissions/etc. That's up to you to specify to the tuner. Typically; more power, more fuel. Stops engine leaning out and going pop - that said, a good tune would be fairly fuel efficient and powerful- as tuning relies alot on O2 readings, then fuel and timing adjustments.
  3. I want one of these 120dB alarms!!!!!!!!! Where from? I want 3 point immobiliser and pager alarm, seemingly there aren't many on the market. Have heard about gangs in glebe. Happening for years; so badly that, even if you called the cops, they know how long they take to respond, and will be long gone. Shitty situation, is why i never park in the city.
  4. PM too please. sounds pretty bad if is a well known place especially.
  5. pods are used in newer falcons of some sorts. They're just enclosed. Has to do with induction noise as to if they're legal or not. Just making the point that: they aren't completely illegal. You pass EPA and engineers certificate... and it's legal. Police wanna say otherwise; they're making it up. I've been defected for things that engineers say are nto in ADR at all; but if you go to blue slip it, you get headaches. If you have the paperwork, money and time; you can take it to court, if not... you change it and pass it.... then change it back.
  6. You may need to send PM's bout that... not meant to be sayin such things bout businesses openly on forum. Dunno of any workshops out that way... west is best
  7. Resonators would lower noise; restrict flow a little but, depending on quality. I think a few places sell them for pretty good prices lately. Under $200 installed.
  8. It might be worth seeing if you can lodge a formal complaint about the matter still, both with the police and the RTA. Else the whole event gets swept aside, and may well happen to you/somebody else.
  9. Depends who pulls you up. EPA can still ping you for increased induction noise. Whether or not you get done for it: who knows. Outa sight outa mind. Play nice and they mightn't get you. I got done for a BOV, "not enough rubber on foot pedals" and no h-pattern. They missed the friggin massive 4" HKS filter stickin out the front but!!!!!!!
  10. Sue them!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's pretty shit. Drive the car anyways, and tell anyone that pulls you over that you're holding him/her personally liable for you not having plates, and you'll see them in court
  11. I'd shop around for parts. SSS seems to often be a bit pricey compared to other places.
  12. It's worth getting in that; it shows the cops that you've gone to the effort of making your car legit, which sometimes helps... also gives less chance of fines, etc, etc. If you get a certificate, i believe it also gets blue slipped? (when you get defected it does anyways), so it HAS to be legit... and yeah... if a cop picks on you after that, it's usually only a maintenance issue rather than something to do with ADR.
  13. That's next to mt druitt yeah? Aint a friendly area IMO. Sucks when shit like that happens. Get a guard dog
  14. Anybody know of any good places near Parra too? Cheers.
  15. Certificate does what it says; It certifies that your modified car is compliant to Australian Design Rules (ADR) as declared by the inspecting engineer.
  16. You mean a cams licence? i doubt it. I think you need to be doing certain speed or something for that to apply.
  17. Did you have to do the stage 1 bit 1st? Who was it through? I'm looking to do one of these 3 stage courses some time. Sounds like something definately would like to do
  18. I wouldn't think it's good business practice to be bad-mouthing another.
  19. I don't quite get what all the fuss is about? If PM's are ok; then if you want opinions of a workshop, make a thread, ask for PMs of opinion. If you have a problemn with a shop: Post what happened, and offer to PM shop name. What's the big deal?
  20. yeah, sounds ignition related to me. If car doesnt fire right, it'll rev and boost but not go anywhere in a hurry. But if it's only in 3rd, no idea.
  21. BUMP! Willing to lower price if anybody wants to buy it asap! Need to sell this!
  22. Yeah, I've basically only driven it to melbourne and back, and sometimes to work (only on weekends) Has also had the laptop upgrade since you had it, so is easier for more places to tune it. Tune was done by Vince Rigoli last.
  23. The more the merrier with pics. I've replaced the box and the bearings since owning it, and had the head welded coz of water chamber corrosion. Havent even driven it much... also why selling. no time to enjoy it.
  24. external gate is engineered... screamers are not... i bought it off guy who bought it from bris... then spent too much time and money fixing up things... so now am after something newer and AWD... made 170kw atw on 16psi... probably suit somebody who wants a crazy runabout...
