From big-ass trips... speedos are usually set to be lower than the speed you're doing.... If you use a nav. unit, it always displays that you're travelling slower than what the speed ostates (they might not take into consideration contours however)... But the speedo-checks on highway to melbourne registered same speed as GPS; which was at least 7km/h under what the speedo read. - so don't get paranoid, but don't exceed the limit. Driving instructors recommend 3km under speed limit to do driving tests I thought fines always come within 2 weeks?

Last time i got a quote, the only thing they were concerned about was the engine swap and if i had an engineers cert. to cover the swap.... I've been to places to get a blue slip; they look at the front mount "engineered?" "no" "i can't give you a blue slip".... Any cop will tell you that anything non-standard that is not engineered is defectable. Is why they always look for shiny things

You go to an RTA certified engineer to have the car inspected. THey look over the car, write down what the mods are, and that they are compliant with ADR... if they're not, they'll tell you to fix 'em and come back... With the certificate, you get a 2nd copy. one must go to the RTA... make a copy of the other and keep it in your car at all times, and keep the other safely locked away just in case... If you dont report the mods, policy is void basically.... how leneint they are; i dont know...

I have engineers certificate... so it's legal... the car has to be compliant with ADR basically... thing is; it can comply with adr and not be engineered if you haven't gotten it engineered... so real question would involve looking over their policy... then again, anal legit pink/blue slip places are as bad as cops when it comes to passing a car as legal. no certificate, no paper -> get it engineered and you're set

As far as this signing contracts thing goes... recalling from legal studies in yr11; if they so much as mark the page and tell you to "sign here" - it legally voids the contract, as you are simply complying with a request or something it may be wrong... if so, sue the nsw gov. for giving false information in schools system

I always get outa the car too... they take too long, i've got better things to do than sit there twiddling my thumbs waiting for them... Then they get all agro and tell me to get in the car... Normal cops; never had a problem with, they check licence, do breathe test, reasonable people so far... Highway patrol... follow me home from work, and are typically pricks... My cousin's a cop... reckons highway patrol reckon they're a law onto themselves... agree with him so far...
