Ring them up EVERY morning and afternoon to see if they have cancellations. My brothers done this twice (when he was on his learners and just a few weeks back when he got his license back (license cancelled due to dangerous driving (burnouts) on his P's). They always have cancellations and he rang all the licensing centres and managed to find a spot within 3 or 4 days....

What pits did u take it too. I'm very lucky when it comes to yellow stickers, but from what i've been told, Midland pits can be very leaneant (sp?) on Fridays, especially after like 2ish....... Sucks hey. Cant u just remove the wing??

The wing is fairly straight forward and as long as its not too wide or sharp, you will be ok. POD they will give u a permit for on the day, as long as its secure. Exhaust depends on attitude... They DO pass loud exhausts that dont hang to low etc, if the attitudes right.... DONT go there saying F#%KING cops pulled me over and stuffed me over. They already KNOW this, just relax and listen to what they say and agree with them.... When i had my yellow cleared by my mate at the pits the other day, this came up with a couple of silvia drivers... Ride height and tinting they look at. Tires also. BOV is a BIG one too. Just turn your aircon off, and use your windows That simple. I very rarely drive with aircon on, as it gives me a headache.. But like MEK said, its just a car thing. ALOT of cars arent up to scratch when the aircon is on, nothing you can do really. If its REALLY bad, take it to get it checked out

i'm 20 and I ended up getting a big loan to pay for my car. In some ways i regret it and in some ways i dont. I dont earn heaps, but i've had my time going out and getting pissed every few nights when i was 18. I also live at home. I love my car, and it can be a big sacrifice some weeks when it comes to paying off loans, insurance, credit card bill, internet, mobile, phone, bit of rent etc. I still go out and have fun, its just that i have to spend wisely (cut down a good 50-80 bucks a week on macca's, kfc alone ). Bit of sacrifice. The reason it annoys me so much is that i HATE paying bills with a passion!! Im also pretty lucky that my girlfriend is pretty good with her finances so she understands it can be hard. If i could change one thing it would be that i would have chosen to save some money as a deposit for my car... Ohh and SOCK (Dallas), aim high and work towards it. I always wanted a 180sx or mk III Supra When i told my mates i wanted a supra (not the new shape either) they all hung $hit on me Now who's laughing. In life always aim high, its how you improve.

Motorquipe at whitfords city (NOR) has just opened and when i had a look the other day, i noticed they had some very good opening prices on gauges and the apexi TT, brand new was on special for $159. Thats pretty good, from what i've seen... they have a medium sized range of autometer gauges and stuff like that, again for pretty good prices. Maybe have a look up there, if its not a huge drive...

Almost brand new HKS POD filter. I dunno what Xspeed et all are selling them for ($200+), so make an offer. Comes with mounting bracket if you want (which suits a MY97 WRX, but i dont know if the same bracket can be used with other models) The actual POD can be used on skylines etc. Cheers Mat

Kens right... When i tried sorting out insurance for a skyline i was 20 with a 20% NCB. I also live in a nice suburb NOR. They (Famous) still quoted me $3600. My mate who is 20, same area, with no NCB only paid $2600....... Certain insurance companies are very dodgy..... Think very carefully, read between the lines and make sure you know everything you can do. Just buy something cheap to insure (hell even 3rd party still gives u a NCB). Save your money and buy a better car in a year or so. However saying that, if your willing to pay 3.5-4K at least, then you shouldnt have too many problems

If your desperate and can wait till the next cruise, you can always tag along with me. Its only a rex, but has handed out chop to the occasional skyline

LOL. Yeh from what i've heard HKS make crap POD filters. I have a rex and so far it hasnt been ok!! I made the mistake of leaving the bonnet vents open. That lets heaps of dust in and does affect inlet temps (for the worse...) because of the way the air flows.... Apexi and K+N are supposed to be the best! Then again HKS are probably way better than most of the cheap pods and filters the majority of cars are using. Ohh well, i will just sell it and buy a K+N or Apexi

Alternatively, like mirkz said, just go to skippers performance or some dealer, lie to them and test drive one of their cars! That way you get to drive No doubt theres a few guys on the forum (me included!), who've done this

Hey guys. I'm sorta after a favour for my younger brother... His mate gave him a monster tacho for his 5lt Commy / stato ( :Oops: ) and he has managed to fit it, but hasnt hooked up the wires and stuff. Does anyone know how to install these or knows of places that can for cheap (as im paying cause he cant afford IT)... cheers mat

Sorry to say this guys, but over the next week or so, people will spread more stories of what happened etc. Try to ignore it. From past experiences (i've lost a couple of mates in car crashes (mainly fatigue + speed)) you can try to explain things to people, but it often falls on deaf ears. We've all done bad things, some of us get lucky and learn from it, some never get that chance and unfortuneately scenes like this will be repeated EVERY DAY. Its a very sad fact of life....
