Hehehe well its definitely dodgy (like i said i was sceptical in the last line on first post). I've been past two multinova's (with police blocking them due to strike action ) and no beeps / warnings HOWEVER i did go into the local shell servo and my phone started beeping like crazying..... Odd Does anyone know what the 5 0's actually do and what those 3 little computers mean.
-
hmmm the stuff about the NSX sounds familiar... Probably just coincidence that takekaira site is being a bitch. Wont display anything. I'm thinking my PC is laden with virus's and bugs.
-
yeh i was kinda pissed off when we arrived in tooday and Troy just goes "where lost" So many nice cars, Kinda felt out of place with a wrx but ohh well!! That lancer seemed to cop a thrashing. The guy building the wide body NSX doesnt have a quick integra by any chance??
-
I guess because i didnt really know anyone i kept at the back of the pack etc. In the ended i stopped and the 180sx's followed me, so we got there in the end! Rex's are awesome in those situations. I've driven 180sx's in similiar areas and although fun cars, i think AWD certainly helps. I took it fairly easy as well because that was the first time i've ever been to that area, so didnt know what to expect and i've only had the car a week or so, so i dont want to puch my limits too much, just yet. Once i get some decent suspension and brakes it will be heaps better.

Yeh its supposed to be a malaysian thing. According to ppl on PF you just "go into china town and they give you this special thing on your phone" This way is supposed to be different. So many dodgy ideas out there
-
hahah yeh it was a good cruise, but in our case it was the bling following the blind!! I'm surprised out how bad the traffic was in some areas. Some of those twisties are crazy!
-
Yeh i'm curious to know how well it will work. i guess i've been very lucky with speed camera's. I speed everyday, but unless there really well hidden, i always tend to see them (touch wood) Even if it only works occasionally, its gotta be better than not working at all.
-
hahah thats what im thinking mate, but im off speed camera hunting tomorrow. Surely it shouldnt be that hard to find one.
-
I was reading PF and came across a thread that said your nokia (only certain newer ones) can detect speed camera frequencies etc. Therefor letting you know of a multinova Part of it seems like a sham, yet another part of it seems genuine. Like alot of things, ppl have backed up both sides of the argument. Heres how it works. http://www.adrian-9110-communicator.fsnet....a_9110_45x.html Im sceptical, however im going multinova hunting tomorrow!!

yeh i understand what your saying. Im reasonably happy with the RAC and the only mods that they said no to was something like autronics, but when the time comes, what they dont know, wont hurt them. Everything else like zorst, FMIC was cool as long as its done in a legit way. One thing that will never change is that ALL insurance companys are wankers!

Well to get a loan for skyline i had to sort out all this insurance crap and speaking to robyn she quoted me 4 different figures (ranging from 2600-4500). If i payed it all upfront she would do it for $3400, but i couldnt do that so it was going to cost me $700 upfront and 10 monthly payments of about $370. Using monthly debits adds almost another grand on the premium. Bugger that My mate comes goes in a week later and with a worse driving record, no NCB, almost identical car (skyline) etc (remembering i live in a much better area than him) it only cost him $2500. They seemed to stuff me around and when i cancelled (after i found out that RAC wouldnt give me a loan for skyline) they were very, very unhappy. My excess was going to be 2500 at least. WRX is SO much easier / cheaper for insurance. But they are looking after my mate really well (and by the sounds of it, you too)
-
yeh famous seem ok, just a few inconsistency's i think. I went in there one day to organise insurance for a loan, and all the chicks that work there are hot 9K eh. Could be worse i guess and as long as you use it as a learning curve!
-
Ouch. Who's your insurance company?? RAC is pretty reasonable with insurance so far. My excess is only 1100 (mainly due to the very occasional driving infringments) Hopefully they'll have it all sorted in no time.
-
Thats pretty good. My mates rex took ages and yet the car that crashed into him (the sil80 with rb25 etc) got fixed in no time at all. Hopefully your insurance company is looking after you etc Did you get to choose the guys doing the repairs or did they??
-
How quiet is it in here tonight. Anyone abouts. Hows things with your car looking BamBam??
-
Hmm well i'm not a real fan of 32's (but love 33's) and wrx's can be a mad car to drive. Wouldnt get either, simply because i dont like 32's and i'm not a huge fan of yellow cars!!
-
Hey niz, are you still comming to the cruise on sunday??
-
Yeh i think i will just do it similiar to yours paul. Hopefully the weather will out for the cruise. Just looked at the BOM and they just said the odd shower, so touch wood its a nice day.
-
Cheers ROb its only a cheap pillar mount ad i want to avoid bolting or drilling but it mite be the only way i guess. I'll try to sand it down a little and then see what happens.
-
G'day all Paul, that pillar mount isnt sitting on properly (double sided tape wont stick to the "plastic" pillar) any idea's. I was thinking on some fine sandpaper to sand a bit of the pillar down to get grip?? or maybe i should just use super glue or drill it I am so dodgy!

Streamer, sounds good but i ended up sticking with RAC finance and found a nice wrx (in my opinion). On a side note, Skippers performance pushed to get me finance (and kept hassling for 3 weeks after) but IMHO car dealer finance is bad, VERY BAD. For Example: On a $25,000 Skippers car finance deal i would have to pay $120 a week over 5 years HOWEVER at the end i would STILL OWE just under $10,000. Thats the catch with a lot of car dealers. A massive balloon repayment at the end. Interest rates are huge. At first it looks fantastic, but its dodgy as. With the RAC on a 25K loan, i pay $120 a week and i own the car after 5 years. Included in that RAC loan are things like income protection and stuff (which bumps the loan up but it adds piece of mind). Skippers said they could offer income protection at an extra $18 a week. After 5 years, thats $4680. Thats a rip off!! But yeh, im glad everything worked out well for you (and your insurance seems quite good). How have you found the service from Skippers. They were far to pushy with me (like most car dealers) so im glad i took the risk to buy a car private sale. Cheers Mat
-
Yeh well my mates evo 6 was 55K and he has no idea that he has to pay stamp duty and stuff. Hes lucky his dad paid his 4K insurance bill (but thats pocket money when you co-own and run South Africa's largest ice cream and soft drink company!!)
-
yeh thats very true mate. Like i said, 6mths ago i couldnt change the oil. Im learning slowly and having a lot of fun along the way, which is the main thing
-
phuck, found my stamp duty and transfer fee on my bed when i got home this arvo, 950 bucks. What a rip off There goes exhaust for a month or 6!!!
-
heheh, yeh i certainly learned a few things. Anything beats working Bam, it was a pretty good job hey, the only dodgyness was on my behalf. lol
