Bam, the boost gauge is an autometer (i saw it at revolution racegear for about $200). got it for $20 when my mate got $1400 worth of black face DEFI gauges in his wrx. I've just got a cheap apexi style piller mount. Nothing flash, but car needs heaps of money spent on other things (big turbo, autronics, zorst, gearbox, FMIC, fuel etc etc)

I dunno bout everything else, but some of the girls i know could out perform alot of guys, in any car, in any conditions. Whats your GF like as a driver in general. Does she think she can handle a car like that. When my GF first drove my car, she was hopeless. a couple of weeks later im happy to let her drive it. I'm 6'4 and a solid build (not fat, just solid) and i find skylines very comfortable so you wont have a problem with room in the front seats etc. The rear seats however....

aghh, on saturdays i work from 10-8.30pm, so its not really possible unfortuneately Mondays i have off and tuesday - friday i start work at 3-12pm. What times / days are best for you

Paul, i work all day saturdays. How about sunday arvo??? The tube (that make the boost gauge move, is that the vacum line??) doesnt really seem that long... The wire only seems about 40cm long as well As you can see i have NFI

My mate got a set of black face defi gauges in his car so he gave me his old boost gauge for a very good price (considering i saw the same one today for $269) So Anyway i went to that car shop in Floreat Forum (Its worth having a look if you havent yet as well) and bought a cheap pillar mount for it. Heres were im stuck. Can anyone install it properly (for alchol!). If not where can i get it installed and how much is it gonna cost Theres only the tube and a wire for the light i think. Yeh, its a nice car. His wrx was VERY quick and it was either a new gearbox or sell his car and put the gearbox money into hansens car. I train at north beach and ozzy park and would love to train on friday night but i work from 3-12pm, so i cant. Do u guys ever go in the mornings, early arvo's

Remember that kane bloke (how can we forget!!), thats why he bailed out (again street racing is wrong but sometimes its reasonably safe), because i was going to run him in that car. mate just sold his low 12 / high 11 sec wrx to buy hansens Evo (not bad cars for a 19 y/o). Sorry if i stirred the pot a little bit too much.... I in no way support street racing or street meets. Taking it down to the drags is my genuine thoughts for these type of things. Black looks mad when its clean and all nice but when its dirty f&^k that! I cant stand yellow cars (like the monaro et all). Red always looks good too. White can look good, if not a "plain" car

Batmat, get a good rex (pretty easy to find one around 25K private sale, but dont even bother with dealers unless you have 30K ), look after it and you will be happier in the long run. Have a ride in one and you'll love it

I was in a similiar possition with finance and couldnt get a skyline. chose a rex instead (and wouldnt have it any other way now). Heaps of nice ones around 25K. I got an immaculate stock rex for $24300. Mainly MY97 and MY98's in that price range. Famous have very odd quotes. When i i rang up 3 times they gave me three RIDICULOUS prices. RAC will insure WRX's for you. I pay around 2K a year but thats in my name. I only have 20% NCB. If i had gone under my dads, it would have cost me about 1.5K. Suss out what rex's will offer you.

Why's that?? Both have there advantages and disadvantages. Both are good cars but again both are fairly common and need a bit of work to make them stand out. Im thinking selling a rex would be much easier than selling a skyline (and better resale no doubt)

Awesome, At my old mans work theres a couple of hoists and a walk in deep pit or whatever they are. Im not sure what muffler is on it (but it sounded nice though). Its supposed to be a quality system. Yeh its 3" I also saw a White 34 GTR last nite (out the back of whoop whoop.....) and i have never seen such an ugly car hey! It sounded mean and was pretty quick but the widebody kit (??) looked like it was stuck on with blutack! Shoulda kept to performance mods i think

Hahaha anytime!! Im not really worried about speeding just no launches! I've got a gearbox that i plan to look after!! My GF had a drive yesterday and she handled it remarkably well. Shes not the best driver but now she wants to buy me things that make it faster so SHE can drive it........

Geezus and i thought i had it bad...... All up i plan to budget around $1000 a month but i can see that blowing out. BTW i dont know heaps about exhaust systems but last night i was offered a full exhaust (2nd hand including the dump pipe) for $800. Its stainless steel and the bloke said it would just bolt in. So is this worth it AND how easy is it to whack on an exhaust??

Ok I've only had my new car 2 days and already its cost me so much money and its going to cost me so much more. I thought i'd post a poll to see how much we all spend (or intend on spending). JUst break it down to an average and include car repayments and insurance i guess I dont think this will look too good!!:bahaha:

Ok i managed to get a couple of pics (not very good ones because scanner is rooted). But we've all seen a stock rex before. Hopefully they work! After i put on a full 3" exhaust i will put on some other rims (mate has a mad set he'll give me for super cheap!) and maybe go spoilerless! Not sure yet. After that comes suspension / brakes / FMIC, big turbo / autronics etc. BTW im NEVER getting a black car again. I've only had it 2 days and what started off as a nice clean car is now filthy. We had a work function (yeha, get to nail bosses) at "Bush Bandits" or something and i can recomend NEVER going to them. It was fun, however the guns and feilds were very ordinary. I've only heard good things about WASP but i've havent been there yet. Apparently they have really good feilds. The worst pain comes when you get shot in the neck. Draw's blood and hurts like hell. Also if YOU organise a group day, most places will charge you only gun/ feild hire and all your balls are free. Works out pretty good
