At 100km i sit on about 2600 rpm (S1 R33)

Ive got an R33 Auto.... Havent had any problems with shifting, slipping etc and i give it a bit of punishment. (Not tooo much tho) Can anyone else confirm for me.... If i drop the auto into 2 (as it just slides in without pressing the button) to get the revs up would that do much harm to the auto? ...kinda like dropiing down a gear if it was a manual. I've got the stock auto cooler do you rekon i should upgrade?

Maybe ur holding the angle of the pump nozzle incorrectly causing it to "click" off...

Sorry pplz...my bad. It is a 60L tank. (GTR -72Ltr) Which means that i can sqeeze more out of my tank than i thought....Always used to fill 42 odd litres; meaning that i actaully have another 18Lt to go!!! The weird thing is that my needle reads Empty at that stage...but from what i read up top you can actually go past that!

What dramas did u run into dude? ...i was thinking of goin a china copy for about $600 full kit. (Maybe not though!)

I always thought they were 50L tanks... ...i think thats what i read in the manual...???

I think if you were to take it to a tinting place they can remove the old and replace with new tint for a lil extra. Personally i'd do that then rip out all ur windows as its much easier and quicker....

Well, it was an EXCELLENT turnout! Applause goes out to everyone who turned up and the well behaved crowd. Was good to see heaps of Skylines there as well as other tuff cars; and was always a pleasure to meet a few of the people.... A big LoL @ the girls in the white 200sx (on the 2-way radio) missing the turnoff at the second meet point. Cant wait for Cruise #3!!!!! There are a few Holdens and Fords there, but thats not all pics... Theres a Silva in one of them pics and me, in the 33... But yeah, it would be great if we could have more Skylines in there...all cars are welcome...

Maybe not...If he's smashed a piston there could be a good chance that the conrod may have bent... That would be the stroke cheif....

WebR33, You mentioned this: I would say your best bet would be to get another engine cheap and drop it in. Im not 100% but im sure i've seen full engine with all bolt ons except turbo for about $1600 floating around... These engines are pretty robust and unless you're gonna go for mega mega power then i'd say just do the swap over. Also, Just goin on some of your replyies you dont seem too educated on the internal parts and so i strongly recommend you give rebuilding a miss. Sorry dude, im not bagging ya or anything -dont take it the wrong way..... Im just trying to be honest and save ya from stuffing up even more which is not hard especially if you miss something as small as clearances of 0.010 of a mm!!! Rebuilding an engine is not as easy as it seems. (Although it sometimes is to some dammit! ) If you get someone else to do the rebuild then buy all means go for it...but it will be costly as it is time consuming and 'upgrading' one part usually means you have to do another. If you get someone else to drop the secondhand motor in, provided you supply the motor, the labor shouldnt cost you more than $500 absolute tops!

Soooooo, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a link or something on a 96 turbo WRX motor specs... Something with the detail of a Gregory's manual would be excellent as im after certain figures like -valve clearance, gaps, bore, stroke, etc... Thanx EDIT: Oh, I think its the EJ20 motor yeah?

The +0.20 and +0.40 thou refer to the diameter of the piston. They are an option as sometimes when boreing/honing a chamber you may need to get slightly bigger piston sizes as factory sizes may be 20thou too small for example. To determine which you need you will have to accurately measure the diameter of the cylinder chamber...forgot the name of the tool you use. I think the crank is good for 300HP but not sure on that info...maybe someone can confirm. But you will be needing new conrods, bearings, rings.... Not sure on how good the heads are and what they can take but you may need to upgrade valves, valve springs, etc....

The cruise points is a well kept secret; and you will only find out on the day! Usually goes for a couple of hours and generally covers Nth, Sth, Est & Wst subs, but you dont have to do the entire cruise... At Official #1 there was freeee cans of soft drink so hopefully there's the same at this one but not sure.... But hey, buy a map and be in the run in for a cash prize for fuel!!! Where are you getting the Standard Size DBA4000 Slotted rotars from??? ....And what would I expect to pay for all four? ....I'd like to get some for my car EDIT: Just realised ur in Brissie(im in melb)... Would I be able to get them from say a REPCO or something like that?

Sounds a bit like you need to get your rotars re-ground. Same thing happened to me in the Commodore years ago.

Yer it would take a lil longer to heat up... ...but seeing as ur in the NT and you get extreemly hot days (Guessing 43+) I wouldnt worry about it tooo much.

You could give it a go... Although i'd go for having a direct switch you can control from the cabin...Maybe go for the switches that light up when on so you dont forget to turn it off.....
