LoL, keyboard tourette's?

Do u mean a mobile speed camera had its hazards on pretending to be a broken down vehicle was operational? ...if so, thats illegal. They cant 'pretend' to be broken down eg: have the jack attached, hazards on, etc amongst other things such as disguising the vehicle to be a 'commercial' vehicle with stickers and signs etc. Unless they've changed that just recently????

Well its common knowledge that when a car is imported it seems to "lose" a few km's off the odometer especially with the older cars. ...so with the R34's and its electronic readout can you trust em a bit more or are they all subjected to the same molestation? Is it alot harder to change the odo readout so alot of ppl dont bother winding them back? Reason i ask is coz the gf wants to get an R34 (maybe just an n/a), with low km's but im not sure about the reliability of the odometers despite them still looking rather clean and consistent with the readout. The layout of the motor makes it a bit harder to do a compression test myself so i'd prob have to go off other signs. Any links to previous threads on this subject (or what to lookout for when buying a 34) are welcome

WTF!? Thats the most stupidest thing i've ever heard! Reporting a blow-off valve and reporting an intoxicated driver behind the wheel are two different things. There is obviously an imminent threat to the public had she smashed into someone. ...by your logic, if im walking down the street and a lil old lady is about to get bashed for her money i shouldnt call the cops or do anything myself because "its pretty un australian to dob people in" Whether or not the driver was drunk, high, had a disability, or was simply doing it for entertainment value -the fact of the matter is that she was driving in a manner where you can reasonably foresee the probability of harm to the public/herself was present. Fortunately, nothing happened. Furthermore, if something did happen (lets say the driver ran over an elderly pedestrian) then he would've been there to call an ambulance straight away and provide some sort of first aid. Now lets imagine that elderly pedestrian was your mother. ....still wanna discuss the "negative effect" of following the person around in a car, or how "un-Australian" he was for calling the cops on the driver????

I was thinking the exact same thing as i was reading ur post! LoL ...in all seriousness though, from the West Gate, down the freeway, onto Western Hwy, and down Western Hwy is a fair distance to travel which would've taken a fair bit of time; so i'd like to know the reason for the lack of response. Imagine if the car had gone over the median strip and into on-coming traffic. ...or slammed into any one of the trees beside the Western Hwy? Its a shame to think that the emergency services would've arrived quick only AFTER an accident occurs

Whats the difference if you bought a whole car slightly smashed for $1000, scumming the parts, then selling the rest for say $500 OR going out and buying each individual part you need from the wreckers for $1000 or more....??? Where do you think the wreckers get alot of their cars from anyways???? Few years ago the motor in my old car died so i went out and bought a similar one for $350 with 80,000km's on the clock, slightly smashed at the front right. The smashed car still had its new car smell and i even debated whether it was worth using it for parts as it seemed too good to waste. Ended up using what i wanted as well as getting a new interior out of it and selling the rest for around $500 as it still had good panels/doors etc; I then changed the rims over from my stockies and sold the rolling shell to them companies that pay ya 50bucks to come pick it up and tow it away which went towards a full tank of petrol LOL !!! I know they also have another section there (unless its changed recently) for cars ranging between $100 - $10,000 which are not ex-fleet and you really can get some bargains if you know what ur doing....

Are you talking about Fowles? Vehicle auctions are alrite if you know what ur doing. I prob wouldnt buy a Skyline through an auction though as you really need to put it through a number of test which u simply cannot (or not allowed) to do at an auction yard. Its also not bad if you wanna buy a smashed car cheap, scum the parts and sell the rest for a small profit or to break even on ur initial cost...

Budget and Thrifty were around the $140-$160 mark (cant remember exactly) just for the van on a Saturday which is pretty expensive imo. I also tried AVIS who weren't any good either... I ended up booking Europecar; got a 3ton truck for $87 and an extra $20 for insurance. Gonna be using it on Sunday to clear out the furniture of my partner's father who passed away on Sunday fighting lung cancer. And just for a lil quick tip for anyone reading this in the future, even though you pay $20 for insurance you still have to pay the excess ($550 in this case) in the event of an accident and that's regardless of whether ur at fault or not!!! Thanks guys for ur replies....

Yes, definetly agree that just because the Crowd Controller was verbally abused and spat on doesnt mean he is legally justified to give him an ass w00ping. Crimes Act 1958 Section 462A. A person may use such force not disproportionate to the objective as he believes on reasonable grounds to be necessary to prevent the commission, continuance, or completion of an indictable offence or to effect or assist in effecting the lawful arrest of a person committing or suspected of committing any offence. In this case the patron is guilty of assault if he did indeed spit at the CC or even just threatened to do so. Also, if the patron was seen by the CC assaulting or pulling someone out the car then he can go over and stop the patron from doing so as ( i would) believe on reasonable grounds to prevent the commission of an offence against the other citizen. However, The CC used disproportionate force which means he too is guilty. So as i said in my first post here; morally the patron deserved an ass w00ping but legally the CC is guilty...

Hello Hello Im looking at hiring a 1.5ton (or equiv) Van or 3ton truck to move a few furniture items this Sat. I'd prefer a van though as its generally cheeper... I've tried Europecar, Thirfty, and Budget and got their prices. My question is, does anyone know of any other places maybe that are not franchised which would be able to hire out for a cheap price??? Preferably Northern subs, but will be picking items up from Noble Park.... EDIT: Orrrr, if anyone has one that is willing to lend it out to me for a day i will be more than happy to pay for it*. Dislaimer: *Sexual favours excluded loll

ROFL....if only it were that easy. A doorman may easily encounter 20odd people giving him shit in one night depending on venue. Soooo, restraining 20 people in one night at one venue and times that by the number of venues throughout Melbourne and take into account how many Police are available at that time coupled with the fact that there are limited holding cells......???? As i said above; alot of people dont have a clue as to the amount of pressure they (Security/Police) are up against...

Without knowing the full details straight away it can be determined that excessive force was used. Laying the boot into someone on the ground is excessive and not proportionate to the legal objective. My opinion: Legally: The Crowd Controller is in the wrong. Morally: The patron probably deserved a w00p ass! Any CC on this forum can confirm that the number of f**ktards they encounter in a single night is extreemly high. Whilst everyone else attending these venues may only see the odd scuffle or two they have no idea of the magnitude of work they must endure throughout the night regarding intoxicated persons, violence, abuse, disrespect, foul language, etc...

Best advice ever! I wish someone told me this when i was on my P's and spending useless $$$ doing up a Commonwhore which even after modified was still nowhere near as good as a stocker GTR..... Save ur cash dude...

Have a read through these section of the forums: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Mo...tenan-f139.html ...that should give you a feel for what to look out for. Also, try get out to a few car yards and take em for a drive.
-
I dunno dude; dont wanna sound mean or anything but that looks full dodgy and if someone recommended i did this to my skyline id be thinking they lost their mind ...but i suppose since its an el cheapo car then i can understand I hope ppl understand there's a difference between needing ur guards rolled, and needing em flared.

Tune up?
-
I think in the old days especially if ur carby/choke was out of tune it was probly better to let it idle to warm up rather than have it stall in the middle of the road. These days u just start up and drive light/normally until the temp is up....
