  1. North Shore industrial area used to be a fun place to do some 'spirited' driving but is now a good place to see red and blue lights in the mirror. Cruising around the peninsula is a good way to spend a nice day but the only fun road to drive around here is the GOR.
  2. 22's will get you more into what's called the sweet spot where power and torque increase 10 fold over existing power.
  3. Try to get some photo's of how far out they are and get in contact with whoever you got them off. Quality control must have been out on a picnic the day they got made.
  4. Even so the physics involved for what they want to achieve would require it to pretty much be a drag car.
  5. On street tyres on the street they're dreaming. Unless they try to dress up a nitro funny car chassis with a bmw body.
  6. If i can get a 1.6l ford laser to tow two bikes then you'll piss it in.
  7. Wait until you get the engine apart because you could find more damage than what you expect. Because you kept driving it when the oil light came on there could be an instance where some small bits of crap found their way to a bearing journal and done some damage.
  8. Just go do hot laps around incitec and get maximum drift points on the phosphate riddled corners!
  9. If it's accumulating around the dipstick it might be a hose or the fitting that comes off the side of the thermostat or the thermostat housing it's self. The coolant would be dripping down from somewhere around there. Start up your car and give the coolant a chance to leak out then get a small mirror and a lead light then do some looking around the thermostat area.
  10. What's wrong with the lifters you have now?
  11. You need to do some investigating and try to track it back to the source. Have a look at the leakage indicator on the water pump to rule that out, it's a little hole underneath where the shaft comes out of the pump.
  12. You should've put this in forced induction thread. It's a tough one to call but it is possible your pump could have failed and then spun a bearing as a result of it. Either way it's going to involve engine out. It's best to find out what went wrong and go from there.
  13. Fair yank of the crank! A stock crank might be able to handle a fair bit of power but it's like rolling the dice when you push it above and beyond what it was intended to do, some might hold together some might fall apart.
  14. What's it like at beating commodores off the lights?
  15. First you'll need to spend $10,000 on a stand alone computer and a motec system exhaust! But seriously you should give a power goal, post up any mods you have already got and not say cash is not a problem because that just opens the gates for people to say crap like "you should get a triple gt42r turbo setup because it'd be fully mad 'n' shit!"
  16. definately, never put questionable tyres on the front.
  17. Burnouts or slow speed drift would be ok, the last thing you want is to do a fast entry and have the thing blow in the process.
  18. If the stock oil breathers are in place the oil in the intercooler would be from the sump being over filled.
  19. Is the oil breather setup off the cam covers still stock? ie. one pipe joins to the manifold and the other runs to the intake pipe.
  20. I like my ecu's how i like my women... plug and play You should post up results when you get it all tuned up on the haltech because i'm considering ditching the microtech for one.
  21. Holy hotdog down a hallway batman!
  22. ^^exactly what he said.... twice
  23. You just need more NOS!
  24. You just answered your own question. Getting them flow tested will confirm. What ecu are you running?
