  1. My number would probably look better if it's listed like this: 0424 696 543, and not worded haha. Remember, it's ONO and I'm flexible! I really need it gone by the 20th!
  2. Hey, It's time to say goodbye to the R33 as I have a new job that requires a return trip of 200km a day - which means gas required! I've been her only driver here in Australia and it's time I pass her on to someone else. 1994 Series 1 R33 GTST Manual White 149,950km (bought her from Jap' with 80,300km on the dial - all kms beyond that are mine 2Dr Nil Airbag(s) Nil modifications - excluding a front sway bar and a stereo w/aux (which doesn't do AM Radio as it's a Sony HU from the States). I also put an Exedy Heavy Duty clutch in to it recently All new rubber, rotors and a few other bits and bobs that won't need doing for a long while yet (power steering pump, PS rack, tie rod ends etc etc). It has had its major done. I personally look after it, unless it's something difficult - then a trusted mechanic does the work. New oils (diff, box and eng') every 8000kms (give or take a few hundred). I've had no bangs in it and the only major trouble I had was the power steering rack - which has now been replaced. It is my daily driver and has been since 2005. As I've done nothing to it, it has been most reliable and I get 550km+ out of one tank with a mix of hwy and suburb driving. $9000ono (RWC + 6mnths registration included[Dec-2010]). Car is available to test after 5pm on Weeknights and on weekends. Car is located 30mins North of Melb' CBD - near the airport. No joy riders/time wasters. I need the car gone by the 20th of June, or she's going for trade in ( ) . I'm keen to do a swap for a 2008/07 Ford BF Mk II with less than 60,000 on the clock and one owner. Obviously, I'll also give cash with the swap. Ask away if you have any questions, or PM me for address/email etc. The car is advertised elsewhere - I will notify when/if sold. Cheers, Steve. 3. It was the alignment! For those interested, I have an S1 '94 R33 GTST and the TE926-14 fit perfectly - $27.50 from Bursons.
  4. I used a Burson part number TE 926-14. They seem to fit perfectly and were a match up to the old ones, albeit maybe no more than 10mm short on the shaft/screw in part. I'm hoping it's alignment, but if it is, it's really really bad! Unfortunately, I'm down in Melb. I'm not driving it as it is unsafe - but I will run it in to a workshop on Wednesday. Cheers!
  5. Over the weekend, I put new Tie Rod ends and Steering Rack boots on the S1 '94 R33 GTST and I think I have a few problems. First off, the steering boots were easy to put on - I'm glad I got them done! Now, here is the problem, I've fitted the tie rod ends (burson part number TE 926-14) and they seem to fit perfectly, with plenty of room to adjust for the alignment BUT, I now have a huge issue and I'm not sure if it's the alignment (I know have I have to get one after removing the lock thread nut to replace the rack boots) or something has gone horribly wrong. I've taken the car for a test drive and the steering feels really sloppy and lose (almost like there is no load on the tyres), the tyres squeal like mad (and are wearing on the outer edge) and the car, oddly enough, tends to drive in a straight line - which is really strange. I've noticed that if I turn medium to hard right, the steering wheel wants to fling itself all the way to the right on its own. I did a real quick alignment using string matched up with the untouched rear wheels, but this didn't seem to do anything at all. Everything else on the car was functioning as normal prior to me swapping the tie rods ends. The Tie rods as bolted in as part as they will go with the castle nut and that seems to be on par with the removed/old tie rod ends that had rotted rubbers. Any thoughts? I'm worried that its not the alignment as the steering behaviour is really odd and the tyers squealing madly with evident tyre wear on the outer edge on both tyres. Cheers. PS: The car is competely stock - only mod is a stereo and front sway bar.
  6. G'day Mate - All sorted now. Thanks guys!
  7. Hey, I'm in need of 2 Child Restraint Brackets by Wednesday. I just stupidly lost the ones I removed... Prefer pick up in Melb given the time constraints. Ta.
  8. Guys, Just putting it out there, especially if you have a level of intellect not so dissimilar to myself... If you undo that single screw that sits under the mirror and locks in the mounting plate, the spring is compressed by the screw. In laymens terms, it goes: Mounting plate > white half bulb, flat side facing you > spring, screw. I know, laugh all you like - but it had me stumped hahaha. Cheers, Steve.
  9. Hey, I just received a Reverse Sensor Switch to whack on to an R33 GTST Manual S1. I've seen somewhere that I need to drop the gearbox to whack it in? Either way, does anyone have some tips on getting the old one out and new one in. From what I understand it's on the gearbox, drivers side top? Ta.
  10. Hi Guys, I'm sorry to big up an old thread, but figured it was more appropriate. The problem isn't so much removing everything, but it's putting it all back together. While my story is a little different, the concept is the same. I have received a new mirror peice only. I have clipped it on to the mounting plate (below): But now I have a floppy mirror. The motors work fine; the two push and pull as the mirror in as they should, however, the mirror is not stiff/firm, ie. not holding its position. It's as though the 2 shafts that connect to the tiny motors are not staying connected. I can't help but think I'm doing something wrong, but it worries me that the 2 little shafts are not permently grabbing on to the 2 little motors. Any ideas? Steve
  11. Hey, Just chasing a drivers side mirror - mostly interrested in the glass itself. Would you wrap it up and ship it to Melb? Ta, Steve.
  12. I thought it may have been that easy... but is there different spec glass/mirror etc etc? I best call someone! haha. Cheers
  13. G'day Guys, Heres the deal... Driving along Citylink (Vic), go to scan my drivers side rear vision mirror and BAMMMMM, it's sliding off... within seconds, it was a goner! So, how does one go about replacing the mirrior/glass for the drivers side rear vision mirrior? I have the option of buying a second hand entire pod [mirror + the mechanics], but would just like to get a new bit of glass stuck on. ...and for laughs: Any ideas?
  14. Boys (& girls), I need a new power steering rack + hoses. What can one expect to pay for a reco PS rack? I know a genuine hose kit alone is a rip, but what would you expect to pay - with labour. R33 GSTS 25DET Manual 1994, no airbag.
  15. Thats the good thing You know about the work I had done, which he completed at 7:30 last night. The "worst case" quote he gave was $2500, I ended up paying $2400. This was the major (all fluids, flush, belts [timing etc etc], tuneup, clutch and brake master, new plat plugs and gapping, a few hoses, and so much more I couldnt list but just think " the major of major services lol), steering pump, 2 x Nolathane castor bushes, fuel lines (f'ing thinks were ripped up and leaking everywhere haha - why i drove it like this, I dont know haha), wipers, 02 sensor, water pump. Plus they gave me 2 x $30 vouchers for my next service haha.
  16. Ill see if the bloke from Lube mobile can tell me. He is working on my car today, hopefully ill catch him when I get home from work.
  17. A stock standard pump suitable for the r33 gtst was priced at $220 brand new. I think this is pretty cool considering I have seen second hand pumps on here go for $150 But 1250 for a pump is bloody painful haha
  18. My original couple of quotes in Melb were either just shy of the $600 mark or a little over, with me providing ALL if the parts, minus oil I had always had work done by Lube Mobile, I thought id give them a go for the clutch. The reason why I didnt try them first time around was because I honestly thought they could not have done a clutch being a mobile mech' I wrote them an email withall the specs, they wrote back saying we can fit all your parts for $240 and a pot of coffee. They came out the same day and off he went. Although he did have to come back the following day as he couldnt get the fly wheel machined on the same day. All this covered with their 12 month warranty on work, I couldnt complain!
  19. Jacked up the car, 4 x stands sitting about 3-4ft off of the ground. He used the trolly jack to drop the box on to and to lift when replacing. He had me out there showing me everything he was doing, followed by choking at the state of the flywheel lol. It was funny because he was this tiny little mauritious man who was about 50kg and 5 ft nothing. A tough little fella and he did it all within the day - was great!
  20. Yeah supplied and fitted. Apparently there are a couple of different sorts you can get, these are apparently not the best but the much better ones.
  21. Thanks Gazee. I have chased a few place up and they are all telling me around$3400, $3600. Funnily enough, Lube Mobile has been the cheapest. They did my clutch a 16 months back, fitted for $240, I provided the parts. When he said $240, I choked and had them out the same day haha. To this day, I have not had one problem. Just more interested in seeing if anyone has had similar work and for what price. Cheers, Steve.
  22. Guys, Been quoted $2495 for parts and labour for the below items. Am I being ripped? Brand new power steering pump. Major service (fluids, filters, everything etc etc) Timing belt (blue belts???) and all bearings Injector service Rubber fuel lines need to be replaced Front arm bushes (he said neopreme or something? - anyway $160 each fitted) Plat' plugs O2 senor Water pump Belts where needed All parts plus labour, Is this a rip? Cheers, Steve.
  23. Guys, I need an alarm with GSM SMS with both function and messages (ie: you can send commands to the car via SMS and get general messages from it - ie: "help, some dic just broke in to me" haha) So far all i can work out is that this type of thing is really just a module/addon to an existing alarm? I am pretty dumb when it comes to this stuff. In saying that - I need something that has an immob, alarm, door openers (no boot), GSM SMS + a remote control to stick on a keyring (stuff sending a text each time i need to open my door haha) It would be going on a GSTS R33 2 door manual. There isnt a turbo timer and i dont plan on installing one. Can someone give me any suggestions and prices (with install) or better still, a place around melb that contains workers who do not have their heads up their backsides - melb seems to contain most of these loons. I live in Melb and please dont tell me to go to Autobarn - i got the reply of "What do you mean a GSM SMS capable alarm, there is no such thing" - god damn I hope he isnt right haha. Cheers, Steve. Edit: While I am at it, will the below alarm do all that I need. Im assuming I will have to pay extra for it to be tapped into the cent' locking? and of corse, install. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-RHINO-RAM-Dual-...VQQcmdZViewItem
