  1. The deal with closing the gap is that with running higher boost the forced air can blow the spark out. Which causes the car to go and sound like a heap of crap when it hits full boost. I bought Iridium 0.8's for my car when it came over because even though running factory boost levels it wouldn't handle it when it hit around 5000rpm. And plugs that were in it were Iridium 1.1's but ive heard that compared to japan our premium fuel quality would be there everyday cheap stuff. Thats what i know anyway, hope it helps.
  2. Yeah i have my car do that idle thing too. Ive noticed its always on a hot and muggy day that when i start the car its idle rate will go up and down and some times even stall . But it seems to iron it self out after it gets running for a bit. I will have to check my MAF. Good to hear that my car isn't the only one
  3. Hey thanks a whole heap guys I think i'll go with the open ventilation type to make sure no dirties get back in. So Busky how did you go about blockin off PCV? Oh and Elite sorry for bein arse. You've left some pretty good feed back from my reading, and i dont want to hold a grudge with a fellow Skyliner.
  4. Thank you Randy for pointing out to the not so educated people what a oil catch can does your spot on the money. And thanks for the help. Whats the point of buying performance parts if your not going to protect them and look after them. And 3lit3 32. I think you should probably learn a bit more before you start dissing poeples ideas!
  5. Im looking to buy an oil catch can for my RB25-DET and have seen a few different styles and methods of installing. I have seen two different types. The sort with the breather on top and then the ones without. i have been told that if you plug both hoses from the rocker cover to the can it causes pressure imbalance and pops the dip stick out, but i have seen this done successfully before. I have a mate who has his hooked up with one hose going from the rocker cover to the can and then the second hose from the can to the pipe that recirculates back to the intake i think. But i have heard that this method doesn't optimize the breathing capabilities of the engine. So if anyone knows what the best way is, please help me.
  6. Man that gold on black looks nice. Real stylish. All the other black R33's ive ever seen a just covered in stickers. Im sad to say that i dont think i will be getting my garnish to light up any time soon The things been cramed with contact glue and i just cant get it open. If anyone has some ideas im listening.
  7. My one doesn't have paint on the outside. But its actually supposed to have a light in it but thanks to the previous owner its been tampered with and i cant get it open to see because they filled the whole thing with contact glue! But thats a great idea about repainting it. Very tidy job by the way.
  8. Yeah sorry dude but my GTs-T blew the pants off of both a 3.5 Magna and a GenIII I mean GenIII still use push rods dont they!? But sad to say that i think the N/A skyline would have its work cut out for it. But good luck dude.
  9. Yeah thats the best way. I used a bit of turps on a rag and carefully just let it soak in and it sorta turns it to jelly which is easy scratched off by finger and then just rubbed like hell to get the rest off. Its a very slow process though. Im still trying to get all off!
  10. Hi all, I also own a 40th anniversary series II and its pretty much the same as the regular series II except for the badges and the lip added to the front bar and its midnight purple which ive been told only comes on GTR's an 40th's. Also has factory keyless entry. Also i'd have to say that ABS must be factory option because a mate doesn't have it in his. a bit strange really.
  11. Hey, Does anyone know anything about the clear skyline light that sits just below the boot on some models of the R33. And does it use a neon or L.E.D.s? Mine has been tampered with by the previous owner and has been cut at the wires and I cant tell what sort of bulb it uses because they filled it with some sort of mean-ass bluetak. Any info would be great!
  12. Well walked into the local import dealer and saw this nice 40th anniversary R33 sitting right at the front of the yard. Only arrived the day before... took it for a test drive not knowing what to expect. Had a smile the whole time. Bought it the next day Love the boost and gotta love the all wheel steering!
