thanks GRK. i was thinking of bringing my friend who owns a supra along to check out the engine as well as do the test drive, i can't really drive manual lol. 2 weeks thats excellent, still sucks though, i was hoping i could get it in time to take it to my formal. by the way are you getting compo insurance? i made a quote with just cars and they said 3.5k, thats too expensive. has anyone got any advice on other alternative companies. i hear famous cars or wateva is good but there located in western australia? cheers

hi guys, im thinking of buying an r33 gtst at the end of this year. cars are not my forte, and my parents are really fobby so no help either. i just wanted to know how you guys went through the buying process, i.e how long it took, how you did rego, insurance etc. im currently on my red p's and one of the cars im looking at is listed as 18.5k on carsales. will be paying cash and i was wondering if i could make a deal with the salesperson where he does rego and insurance etc and we pay him like a lump sum. would that be worthwhile in terms of money cause i think for a car dealer they'd have mechanic friends and rta friends etc. who could compliance etc. basically im like a newborn who knows nothing about buying cars. any info would be highly grateful, John

hey guys im doing my HSC now as well, wish you guys the best of luck. though its off topic i was wondering if you could give me some tips on how to buy used cars. my parents are really fobby so no help there, and im going to check out some r33's in november. basically i wanted to know about rego and how long the buying process takes. my mum said 2 months so i don't believe her. GRK since we're sorta similar could you give me some advice on how to go about it. thanks

ok i've called up the rta and ecl is right. if you received your red's before the 11/07/2005 then your free to drive whatever care you want, HOWEVER if you are disqualified or suspended you will be not be allowed to drive any turbos etc. so i recommend those p platers, like myself, to drive carefully until your on you fulls, and like the other posts i have read investing into driver training is a very good idea. thanks for the input guys

im confused. so if i get the ecr33 can i drive it and say that my cars not restricted cause it only lists da hr33 as restricted :S

hi there, im thinking of buying a 1998 ecr33 gts-t series 2 Mspec. im currently on my red p's and i got them b4 the changes came in. i was looking on the rta site and it said only hr33's are restricted. could someone please tell me the difference between the 2 and issit legal for me 2 drive it once im on my greens? thanx
