  1. Yeah...kinda figured that too...still have the thermo fan...cheers anyway...hopefully we've seen the last of the really hot weather...
  2. Cheers mate...i know that...my temps on the track were good sitting around the 82-87 mark all day and that was because of the airflow at those speeds... My concern here is how high my water temps climbed while sitting in traffic...and thats with a thermostat that works...new rad cap and a 40mm alloy radiator...
  3. Bwhahaha...you know...thats probably the only smart thing you have said since you were born...well done...
  4. I'm interested to see the printouts of your mates car with the hypergear...i struggle to see how a rb20 with a tr43 or whatever can actually have a better curve than a rb25 with a 2535... What makes you say its a better curve? does it peak earlier or does it have more area under the curve or does it just climb higher at the end? same dyno?
  5. Hey guys, Just a quick question for you all who were driving around in today's sweltering heat...what were your car's water temps while sitting in traffic? My car hit 95 degrees sitting in traffic with the a/c on...which was rather worrying...whereas the previous day while at a track day at Sandown fanging away it only hit a maximum of 90 degrees...
  6. Hmmm...lets see...$250-300+ for an ebc and $30+ for a turbotech...as you said above if you just want a few psi don't waste your money on an ebc...
  7. The 044 is ok but thats meant to be an external pump...the internal 040 is a good pump but the filter design is crap...and recently i have seen a few fail due to that...mine is on its way out too...so stay away from the 040...
  8. No...that amount of lift will require heavy duty valve springs... Cam gears will give very little adjustment but a tune is usually sufficient...
  9. RB20DET GEARBOX Just taken apart to be inspected and had new bearings put in. Synchros and gears in perfect condition with good tolerances. Asking for $700.00 ONO Located in Melbourne SE Suburbs. PM if interested!! This box is immaculate and will not disappoint...
  10. Most will go with the turbotech as its easier to install and gives the option of raising boost more in the future...
  11. Bwahahaha...try it and let us know if it works...
  12. As easy as it is it will never be easier than cutting a vacuum hose and slipping the turbotech on...
  13. It might make the power but i am not too impressed by the response...remember its all about useable power...area under the curve is far more important than how high it goes...
  14. But you're a gun at driving and thats all that matters...lolz
  15. There is an article in the latest HPI magazine about getting 11s in your skyline...it is claimed there that around 220rwkw or slightly more is all you need for a 11 sec pass...don't quote me on that though...but whats said in that article carries alot of truth...the rest of the car's setup is just as important...so aim for about that much power or slightly more and concentrate on other areas...and don't forget driver skill too...
  16. Still too small if you ask me...those cams are really suited to a slightly more extreme setup...
  17. Hahahaha....are you sure R33cruiser? Lolz...
  18. Is the sump still there?
  19. Hmmm...the standard 4AGZE pistons are 81mm...the tomei 83mm one will be too big...does any one know of any others? By the way...thanks for all the input so far...
  20. Ok...i have picked up the free engine and will start stripping it down shortly...after some research i have decided to give the 4A-GZE pistons a go once i find a place to do the necessary work...remember that i'm just doing this as an experiment so see what can be achieved...hence tomei 82mm pistons or other forged pistons are out of the question for now.. Does anyone have any recommendations for places to get 4A-GZE pistons from?
  21. Well...you search...because too many of us had the same question as you and there are heaps of threads about this already...
  22. 550s would be more than enough...even 480cc s15 ones are more than sufficient...in fact...if the rb25 injectors are 370ccs thats enough too...
  23. It all boils down to how much you want to spend and how much power you want...a rb20 making 200-220rwkw is not a bad thing...a rb25 box is definitely a good idea though...
  24. If you are going high mount then don't worry about the flange on the turbo...you can get a high mount manifold with a t2 flange if need be...dump pipe will most likely need to be custom anyway also so i wouldn't worry about that... However...there is no point in high mounting a kkr430 or even the 2871...keep it low mount if these are your choices...
