  1. My comment was only directed at a certain closed minded portion of people here...
  2. I'm keen to get in on the Deca days...do you have to be a VIC club member? If so i'll sign up straight away...
  3. Haven't driven any other tracks other than Sandown but i can say that turn 1 after the main straight scares me alot...full throttle over a slight crest to a blind off camber high speed corner...
  4. How many of you actually know the the supra due to its better weight distribution actually holds more cornering Gs on a skid pan to a R33gtr? not to say the supra is a better car...but it ain't bad for what it is...the narrowmindedness here is shocking sometimes...feels like i'm on NS.com...
  5. If you have to defend your own car then you're just as bad as he is...both a good cars and it boils down to preference and purpose...i love both... This might shock alot of people and probably won't help your cause but its worth checking out...not such a boat after all... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKvF08Gt8N4
  6. Another thing to check besides the thermostat is the radiator cap...it might not be working properly and allowing the system to pressurize...
  7. Yes...they are considered an upgrade over the standard 17 year old rb20 pumps for sure...but only if its working well...either way...i've seen them support close to 200ish rwkw on rb25s...more importantly...i'd probably not push your R33 turbo to 14psi...keep it to 12psi to prolong its life...and the GTT pump will cope with it fine too...
  8. Interesting...i've had the problem on my 2535 and i have encountered the same problem with a 2530 which i installed on another car too...maybe i was unlucky and you're in turn lucky... THENIG...since some people don't have issues with the JJR pipe...might be worth giving it a go...remove the actuator arm and then try to to flip the wastegate flap open...mine would only swing open about 50 degrees before the flap fouls the dump...if yours opens fully with the JJR one...then its your call to use it...
  9. Having owned both...i find that its partly due to the power delivery characteristics of the engine too...the RB is so smooth and creamy and pretty linear in stockish form whereas the SR feels rough as sh!t and alot more urgent...the SR seemed happer from 2500-5500rpm and the rb seemed happier from 4000-7500rpm...the characteristics of the SR makes it nicer to drive on the road...trackwise i prefer the RB...
  10. You do not have to remove the intake manifold to change the injectors...i didn't have to when mine was done...the rail unbolts and it all comes off at one go...
  11. Did you not read the rest of the posts? the wastegate flap on the turbo will foul the on the JJR pipe...hence causing uncontrollable boost...the HKS pipe is designed the way it is for a reason...which is to allow the flap to open fully when on full boost...unless you want to grind a fair bit of the jjr pipe...which will probably weaken it...then its better to stick with the dump that it came with...
  12. Lolz...its ben's car...congrats mate...that has got to be the luckiest R34 around as it had the pissiest and weakest owner before you...i've never seen a car which had an easier life...ben did not do the car justice and it took the rest of us to bring out the car's best...but seriously...great buy...now whack the boost up on that sucker...
  13. I have gotten a fair bit of stuff from just jap over the years and with them its abit of a hit and miss...i won't bad mouth them because some of their stuff is pretty good...all i'll say is do your research first...
  14. ^^^ Agreed...ALL the answers to ALL the questions you ask can be found by searching!!! In this case...if you must...you can butcher the standard airbox to fit a pod in it...as i have mentioned in a couple of other posts...i have done it and it works fine...whether there is a benefit or not is up to you...to say it isn't worth it might be abit short sighted but to each their own...i did it because i had a quite a few pods sitting in my garage...i run the pod in the airbox for street driving and remove the cover for track work...make your own choice from there....
  15. ^^^ Simple answer...YES!!! Drive it around at stock boost till you can get some sort of engine management...
  16. I think i really need to invest some time in more tuning for mine...my cam gears were just set to +3 IN -6 EX and just tuned from there...Interloper...are you running a remap? would be really interested in seeing your results...if i get mine done i'll post it up too...cheers...
  17. My thoughts exactly...get over it...
  18. Common problem...and AC Diagnostic mode would not necessarily give an error for it...mine didn't because it was a failure in a mechanical component...just go to a wrecker and change it...in the time it took you to write this thread and wait for replies you could have gotten your aircon working...
  19. Yeah...the wastegate flap fouling against the dump pipe prevented it from opening fully and hence sent boost levels skyrocketing... GK Tech is a sponsor from nissansilvia.com...he's one of the few people around that sell aftermarket front pipes for rb20/25s...stuff looks top notch too...don't quote me on that...but in the end...the front pipe is just a pipe... And yes...please keep me posted on the 2530Kai results...i want to see if i should shoot myself for not going down that path...PM me if you want to keep it confidential...cheers...
  20. Having been in the same boat as you before...i went the hks dump in the end...i had a batmbl dump and front similar to the JJR one you have...i cut the divider off too and then used it on my HKS2535...and i found that boost would spike from the set 1.0 bar or so to about 1.3 bar...i found out that the wastegate flap would foul on the dump pipe...have a look at your JJR dump where the wastegate hole is round...and then look at the hks one where the wastegate hole is elongated...it was made that way for a reason...i've had no problems with the hks dump...just go for it and sell of that JJR pipe...get a GK tech front pipe with flex and you're good to go... On a side note...is that a gt2530kai? I'd be very interested to see how it performs...could you keep me updated please? Cheers...
  21. Its not bad...but not the best...don't kid yourself...
  22. Lolz at the step by step pics of the car being covered...good luck with the sale...
  23. Congrats on getting your Ps...now...i firmly beleive that a rwd turbo like a skyline or silvia is not a good first car for a novice driver...and i think that many will back me up on this...i'd recommend trying something alittle more forgiving before you tread this path... Now as for de-turboing a skyline...if that is what you are talking about...there is no way of doing it...not without changing a fair load of stuff...and after that...it will still run like crap and be slower than a NA equivalent due to lower compression...so...don't take it the wrong way but its a stupid idea...you are better off buying a NA skyline first and then swapping the motors at a much later date after you get more driving experience and can afford it...
  24. Does anyone have the confirmed time for this thing round the ring? it sounds friggin awesome and looks the part too...i don't care or not if its faster than the new gtr...both are equally impressive...imagine if you had both and you wake up in the morning only to be faced with the choice of what to drive to work...the gtr or the lfa...now thats life!!
