  1. I think so too...thats decent power but on 10psi i think thats alittle optimistic....
  2. Lolz...2 rb20 R32s eh? Man...1 of them is enough to burn a hole in my pocket...can't bear to imagine what 2 would be like...but yes...it is nice to be in a position to choose which car to drive to work...espacially when both are fun cars to drive...
  3. Interloper...didn't you have a GTRS on the car previously?
  4. Troy's "wrecker" engine is just a freak...its amazing that it still holds up with the amount of punishment it cops...if only we could all be as lucky...
  5. So you're giving tech advice now? Hahaha...
  6. Good day fellas, I'm having an intermittent problem on my RB20det where it will start dropping cylinders on and off...it sounds like its dropping more than 1 cylinder when its happening...i suspect that the ignitor module might be on its way out as it still happens when i chuck on some spitfire coils from a mate's car...my question is...besides the standard rb20 ignitor module...are there any other RB or Nissan ignitor modules that are interchangeable? I'm having some issues sourcing a replacement module...if anyone has an rb20 ignitor module for sale please drop me a PM too...cheers....
  7. Ok...i've been in a rb20 r32 with a hks2530 making 210rwkw and its nice as responsive...i have a r32 with a hks 2535 making 215rwkw...slight power difference because i have some restrictions in my system but anyway...i wanna point out that the 2530 does feel livelier and more responsive...the rb20 is a real slug down low as it is and we can't do anything about that...personally i would recommend you go the 2530 and concentrate on the rest of the system...guys have made in excess of 220rwkw easily with the 2530 and you will get slightly better response than the 2535...i think you should go with whatever is available to you first...good luck....
  8. it might still be on full boost but if you look at your power curve it would be past peak power and be dropping off already...
  9. Can you get the plumback attachments for the ssqvs? Cheers...
  10. Why doesn't the rb20 thread answer your question? you can see how much power you people are getting and then see what turbos they use...and then you can do some price searching...i can tell you off hand though...that the common upgrades besides the 33 and 34 stockies are...hks 2530, hks 2535, gcg highflows, slide highflows, kkr430s, kkr480s...and a few other chinese brand turbos...all these will come with a T3 flange and will bolt straight(dump pipes might not)...obviously they will make different power and have different response but it should give you a good starting point...
  11. Hey guys, Got a RB20DET gearbox for sale here...changes gears smoothly but it needs new bearings as 1st and 2nd gears are noisy...after $150 for the box...located in Melb SE Suburbs...PM if interested...cheers....
  12. Hey Guys, I have 4.5 litres of Redline Shockproof Light for sale...originally bought this for my new gearbox but the new box already came with Redline oil...a new bottle usually contains 3.8 litres (1 gallon) but i had some extra lying around so you get 4.5 litres in all...a new 3.8L bottle usually retails for around $100...i'm selling this 4.5 litre bottle for $80...PM if interested...cheers....
  13. Hi Guys, Just a qucik question because i'm at work and can't sort through 50 posts to find an answer...Can someone confirm is r32 rb20det boxes are the same as r33 rb25de boxes? I've heard casual talk here and there that they are and need some confirmation...are they physically identical or with slight differences? Gear ratios the same? any input would be greatly appreciated...cheers fellas....
  14. Timing for the knocking is rev related...i'm pretty sure its stuffed now as i'm having problems engaging first...it has been having a harder time since the new turbo and tune...time for another box...
  15. Gdday Fellas, I'm getting some weird knocking sounds from my R32 gtst gearbox when accelerating in 1st and 2nd gear. Its sounds like a metallic knocking/tapping sound and it disappears once i slot it into 3rd...can someone shed some light on this for me? could it be a bearing problem or would it be the gearbox? Cheers...
  16. ^^^ you seem adament that a fmic will make a stock car loose power...this r32 which already has a free flowing exhaust would be running more boost as a result...maybe in the region of 11-12psi...the stock cooler will be a restriction to flow even with these minimal mods...and hence a fmic kit will improve performance by providing greater flow...it had been proven time and time again...even with a slightly more efficient R34 smic unit there are improvements...and while a bigger core might take a fraction of a second longer to fill...it does cool more as well and hence give more improvement as well...
  17. Then what about me where i got between 7-8 rwkw more with the fmic of that size with a stock turbo? Denser air and more flow will result in more power...period...
  18. Standard 600x300x76mm core or similar works fine...just don't buy it off ebay...buy it off the sponsors on this site...you will hardly notice any increase in lag but you will get a performance increase due to the cooler air and decreased restriction in flow...
  19. You will need some short lengths of custom piping to fit it to the standard pipes on a gtst...i've done one on a s13 before and it should be pretty similar...although i would definitely not recommend using it with the price of FMIC kits nowadays...the 7m cooler is not exactly a very efficient unit anyway...but it is a very cheap upgrade if you are going to be keeping the car stockish...
  20. Well...i got my GTR BOV for about $70...Good value if you ask me...bolts straight in...just need a larger hose for the plumback thats all...
  21. Point noted Nismoid...i was actually going to PM you to ask you about this but since you've replied its all good...cheers...
  22. Hi fellas, Got a question for you guys...i run a gtr plumback on my gtst but when running anything over 15psi the bov doesn't vent quickly enough and i get a fair amount of flutter at full boost...with 18psi on the strip its worse...now i know a slight bit of flutter is ok for daily driving or even on the strip but at a track day i have coming up i'm not so sure...would it be advisable to get a atmo bov for my track outings so that the excess pressure is vented fully? Cheers...
  23. I've always had a soft spot for these little cars...gay or not...we have to admit they handle alright...how difficult is it to swap the engine for a 2zz from a celica? it would give a hefty power increase wouldn't it? With a 2zz in there it would almost be a lotus elise...lolz...well...almost...congrats...
  24. I feel for you mate...my cooler kit definitely didn't line up too...and i had to modify my piping and even my radiator clutch fan so the the piping would fit...it might be a bitch but if you have a boost leak then you have no choice...check the hoses and hose clamps as they are usually the main cause...
  25. I have to disagree with this one...if the car is bone stock then yes...a fmic is not necessary...but regardless...the increased flow and denser air will give a gain...although you will hit boost a tad later due to the increased volume to fill...and you don't need a bigger turbo before you need a fmic...once you start to turn up the boost even on a stocker a fmic would be beneficial...
