I've fixed the stalling problem!!! It was the blow off valve. Which is very strange, cos the blow off valve I had on it was the Greddy Type S, which was being plumbed back just like the stock one. Maybe it was blowing-off too early, too late, too much, too little, too who f*cken knows... The good news is she's not stalling anymore, and I'm smiling again!

Yeah, I've got the same problem. When it's cold, the revs barely run, around 100-200rpm. Sometimes it stalls out, and you hear this squealling-whining noise under the bonnet. Then you try kicking it again and it purrs. I think maybe the fuel pump running at 6 volts doesnt supply enough fuel when its cold for the extra revs the engine wants or something like that. All I know is if you press the accelerator pedal, the revs run like normal. So I'm guessing it's a cold engine problem, probably involving the fuel system and cold-start electronics... Damn these cars!

Nah, haven't tried flat-out replacing it, but that might be something I need to look into when I duck down to Adelaide.

I might be on the trail to finally finding the gremlin. Have received reports that the TPS wouldn't be responsible for all of the things that I'm experiencing. It's more attributable to a sticking throttle body butterfly than a TPS. So the next step (in this epic saga) is to remove the throttle body, and clean it like nobody's business... I'll be sure to report in with the results - stay tuned.

OK folks, due to overwhelming interest, it's time for a PRICE DROP

I've heard rumours along the wire that a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) can also be the culprit for an idle stalling problem. How do I go about playing with and/or replacing this? I'll run a search, cos I know that's normally people's first answer (and it's lots of help, by the way... NOT!)

Nah, you guys got it all wrong... 1983 Toyota Tercel SR5 wagon, with the 4WD set up so it runs only in RWD. Engine conversion to 4AGE 20V ala trueno, panda-style color scheme with watanabe rims, etc etc. Now that's a sleeper, essentially a Trueno wagon... Don't steal my idea now, will you?

My pride and joy up for grabs... As title suggests, 32 skyline. Burgundy in colour. Car is registered until February of 2007. First registered in Australia in January of this year, only been on the roads for three months. Still has that Japanese smell to it. Interior and Exterior both in great condition. Meh, im putting my girl up for sale anyway - let the buyer deal with it. I have noticed that it does it most often at low speed, in the first couple gears (when clutching), and when turning or just after turning. Maybe my power steering pump is sapping too much juice, or the aac screw needs to be adjusted to allow more revs...

Still happening to me - gonna live with it. Could be a million things causing it, so I'm not going to guess.

Man, we spend over $10,000 to get these cars, then another million keeping them on the road - every car has a gremlin or five, and I guess it proves how much we love our cars, or how stupid we are for hanging onto them!

I opened mine (on a 32) and there was no spring inside. Is there meant to be?
