BUMP - CAM GEAR FOR SALE STILL -
Yeh thats Andrew's car... very nice - been a while since i saw it, hopefully he got the front fixed up again. I saw blue neons on a blue/white gsxr, looked like the whole bike was glowing looked awesome. The neons were aimed onto the bike not the ground inside the grill.

Made A New Cai Box, What You Think.

Even with the thermo foam etc in place you would still get a lot more heat coming through the shield than you would get from the headlights, If you do decide to shield from the headlight please post results. I would guess there would be no noticable difference. -
I was not indicating quality, simply that Nengun offers the blitz kit for under $1000, which is $300 cheaper than where ever else he had looked. I did not buy mine for the "brand name" as such. I did not spray BLITZ across the front of mine. One of the main reasons I got the kit was so that I didnt have to cut any holes for the pipework, but now I want a new plazmaman plenum it makes it hard with the pipework (would be even longer path than it has now due to the end tank return style) and I think when I do this it will be Bye bye Blitz LM.

I got the Blitz LM FMIC for under $1000 from Nengun. IMO a great buy.

Compared with engine bay temps, I think the heat from the BACK of the headlight would be negligible. Remember that one day you will probably have to change a headlight bulb so make sure if you put somethign behind it that it is easy to remove. If you are that worried about it I would just tuck some foam in behind the headlight and secure it at the corners. -
I have a S2 R33 and my side skirts have been cracked and look tacky for AGES, the glue came off the side and the screws were over tensioned and cracked them. Last night I saw an R33 with what looked like NO skirts, just straight to the body of the car. If i take mine off, what is underneath? would it look OK without the skirts on until I can afford new ones? (i.e. better than driving with cracked taped on ones).

How did it go ducting the air in from the side? Do you know how the guy that did that find it? Where would the CAI hose run if I did this? I would prefer to use the stock intercooler holes, but I have the Blitz kit which uses them, and I don't have a stock snorkel. -
And here I was thinking you were a dude.....high heels? hahaa

They better not paint it white and continue on their crime spree. I will have a white one up here soon with VIC plates.
-
Loks great... good job. NOW COME DO MINE You could always paint it black or something so it does not stand out as much and line it with some foam. top effort.

Yeh i know that you can never make things unreachable. If they REALLY want something they can get it. But doesnt hurt to make it harder I have enough outputs for the window rollup etc. I am in Sydney and Marty at FHRX suggested a guy for me to go to a while ago about a different matter, so i will tell him exactly what I want when i get things done.
-
Yes I know you can do that, but so can theives. I am trying to make it harder for the wrong people to get into the boot, but still easy enough for me to get in there. I have already taken the lock out of the boot, but the lever release in the car is still there. I want a push button release on the remote and tossing up whether it is worth having the cable release re-located somewhere hidden in the car.
-
Haha I was waiting for that response

Any thoughts on removing the boot release? I would prefer a backup in case the electronic boot release stuffs up one day. Newbie: The trunk kit that I got is a DEI module, you will have to ask someone if you can use it with your alarm. It is essentially "plug and play" with the one I have, and the solenoid is fairly simple to install but you will have to check with someone that knows what they are talking about - if you want to buy it though do a search for DEI TRUNK RELEASE on ebay - mine didnt cost that much. I am in two minds about the mirrors, am I becoming just too bloody lazy? hmmm!! If it is a simple relay/circuit I might get it done, if it will cost more than about $40 its probably not worth the effort. The car is being pulled apart soon to be sound deadened and have the new stereo put in so I am trying to get as much stuff as i can out of the way at the same time.

I have just bought an auto window roll up kit and was wondering if it is easy (and possible) to combine this with the folding mirrors e.g. as windows are told to roll up, mirrors fold in (and if possible fold out again when the car is started). I am also thinking about shaving the boot lock off my car and disconnecting the release from the drivers side (e.g. just having the boot release on the alarm as the only way to access the boot). Has anyone moved the boot release from near the drivers seat somewhere else in the car to make it harder for potential thieves to access the boot? e.g. moving the release somewhere under a seat, or in the back of the glove box? I am just throwing around a few ideas.

I bought one of these too but i never get crystal clear radio, always sounds like it is one step off signal. It is a jap version eclipse head unit. is there any way to have the display read the right frequency as well?
