  1. Guess what? you dont have to warn me again i learnt my lesson. NO SLANDER (i am pretty sure i didnt mention the name)
  2. I totally disagree with you. What about those of us who paid TOP dollar for a piece of SHIT. I bought a car that was not only not legal to drive on the road, the dealership organised the alarm for me when i asked for an alarm to be fitted so that i was covered from when the car left the gates - they made me pay $900 for someting that was not aust. standard. 12 months on and i am STILL finding things that they screwed up on. Here is the list: Alarm not aust. standard Alarm not wired correctly - drained battery hence needed new battery Spacers on front wheels meant wheel rubbed on guard. Tires were not changed when imported - not aust. legal No hub locaters - savage wheel shake Cracked side skirts (they were not cracked when i test drove it) Radio did not work (jap. version) i asked about this when test driving and they turned it off and told me it was a bad area for reception - i was stupid enough not to argue. They gave me illegal tax advice (told me how to commit tax fraud whilst telling me it was "LEGAL" so that I could afford their marked price). They 'forgot' to put the strut braces on and when i went back to get them they had accidentally given them to another customer. They did not put a dump pipe in as promised Once they had my $ they would not even respond to emails/calls and when i FINALLY got thorugh and said the wheels scrubbed out they told me "it is not a 4WD" I was looking at legal action until I heard they have closed down twice before and just opened up under a new name. So if i took them to court and won (which I have been told i probably would) they would just close down and i would get nothing - that is how they stay in business. When i threatened them with legal action they threatened me saying they would "countersue" FOR WHAT? they tried to scare me from taking them through court and it looks like it is not worth the effort. If you would like to know who i am talking about you may PM me. I have other plans to get even. I will not let them get away with what they have done. I understand that buying a seocnd hand vehicle things wont be perfect. but there is a difference between that and bending over and copping it fair in the behind. I did not expect the car to be perfect, but I did expect it to be able to be driven. I test drove the car when it was stock and then they told me there were extras they would put on. They did not tell me that the reason the car was stock is because the things they were going to put on it were not legal in aus. So they take the parts off, get it complied and then sell it. I told them i wanted it to be legal, and when i asked for a remote start alarm they told me they wouldnt get that done because it was not legal. Why all of the other illegal stuff then? I have definately learnt a lesson now.
  3. Can anyone confrim whether a viper is not insurance worthy?
  4. Viper is not australian standards? I asked the dealer i bought the car from to install an alarm for me for insurance purposes and they put in a viper... so its not covered by insurance? What a waste of money BASTARDS this is the 6th BIG thing they stuffed up on.
  5. I called the cops tonight (first time EVER) and within less than 5 mins there were 6 cars circling my block - talk about response time. A group of kids were jumping on cars and making noise outside my apartment and throwing bottles at taxi drivers. I would much rather my tax money be spent for this sort of action instead of the defects. It is quite funny, i have been driving a beat up old ute while my line has been in at the mechanics for the past month. The headlight is smashed, it takes about 50m to stop, the steering is loose as and it REALLY shouldnt be on the road (and i see a lot worse cars than that driving around all of the time). I have driven past LOTS of cops, even pulled up behind one tonight with the headlight out and they didnt look twice. If i was in the Skyline i am sure it would have been a different story. Even though it handles 1000 times better, stops in 1/4 of the distance, has working headlights, and is better on fuel/ less emissions. However I bought the car, I knew it would attract attention and MOST of the time i am sensible and do not get hassled. I am scared to drive my car sometimes though, I have to go to Melbourne in a week and I am so worried i will be defected. I bought a plumb back kit for the BOV but i have a POD, intercooler, Aftermarket ECU and boost control. ALL defectable. I bought the car from a dealer with most of these mods already on it. It was complianced by the dealership with some of these mods on and some were put on after it was complianced. Would I have any leg to stand on if i was sold a car that did not comply? I tried to take the car dealership through small claims but they couldnt really do much for me.
  6. What did the alternator cost to get redone? and where did u get it done?
  7. Slide has been nothing but extremely helpful to me. People that do not have a good product and service to back it up don't stay in business with a reputation like Slide has. Simple as that.
  8. I have a similar sort of question. My car is registered in Victoria (my parents live in Vic and QLD about 50:50 per year, vic in summer and qld during winter) and the car is under my dads name. I live in NSW now and spend most of my time in NSW with the car. If i get pulled over in NSW and defected, do i have to go and get it cleared in vic, can they make me? or will i have to get it cleared in NSW? Do they have any rule about where it is registered if it is my "dads" car and I am just borrowing it if he has a residential address in Vic?
  9. Meh... it is exam time, everyone i know is strung out. 11 more days and i will be as chilled as can be (well sorta chilled ill be up in Far North QLD on the reef) Oh i forgot to add that this morning i had not one, not two but THREE things i bought DELIVERED, I didnt have to drive to the post office....They came at different times too, three different contractors. VERY happy about that. And i got my radiator hoses from nengun, my stinger wiring kit, and a new watch. Still waiting on my Nismo floor mats (second attempt), alarm add ons and the HKS recirc. adapter. If they are delivered as well (and not lost) I will be stoked
  10. Thanks for the info. I will just have to be patient. Cheers
  11. What is required to make it fit? is it just the around the bonnet catch? UAS i think it was told me i could buy one of their series 1 ones and just cut out a piece to make it fit. Is this the only difference?
  12. P4004 is a 4 channel amp. The amp is sold though sorry. The way the rockford amps are rated is the first three numbers give the power so a P4004 is 400 watts and the last number is the number of channels so in this case 4. a P6001 is 600W 1 channel a P8002 is 800W 2 channel etc
  13. I will second that, is there any way of doing a "bodgy" to get these to fit ? if we do the stuffing around ourselves? What is actually wrong with them? Instead of chucking them can we talk about a reduced price? or is it not worth doing?
  14. Easy solution: dont let her drive the car... I dont
  15. Is it measured at a certain RPM? has anyone got away with setting the rev. limit lower to pass? I have not had mine measured, but it has a nice note, prob very close to what is allowed. I think it is a bit of a sign when you go to visit mates or family and 3mins before you arrive they are out the front waiting because they could hear you coming about 2kms away. I had an old bloke a while back comment on how nice my car was and how good it sounded (must have sounded nice and quiet through the hearing aids). He commented on how good it was to see money being spent on a passion (i guess he meant cars are better than drugs) and how nice it was that I looked after it and kept it clean.
  16. I found out there is... the part number is HKS PN #1421-FIT001
  17. Mine is on the ground floor. Instead of reaching down to put the card in he just has to reach up and push 5 buttons. Fedex and private couriers manage to do this without ANY problems. If i catch him, i will be sure to post updates...hopefully they are from the outside of a cell though
  18. BAD NEWS The good news is that HKS DID make one. The bad news is that they do not make them anymore (discontinued line) I bought two from the US (one for me, one for sale)
  19. Thanks mate.. someone just PM'd me before, trying to source one now. Thats good news
  20. Cost on having this sort of thing done professionally? I imagine it would be 'fairly' cheap if a common colour was chosen. e.g. if timed properly could use the 'leftovers' from someones respray Possible?
  21. I bought a SSQV, without doing my research. I wanted a plumb back BOV, and didnt realise the HKS one wasnt until i fitted it I don't really want to sell it and buy another brand new one because people expect second hand things for nothing and this one has only done about 200kms so far. Is it possible to make up an attachment to plumb it back? or at least to make it look like it has been for legal reasons?
  22. Yep HKS SSQV I got one, dont really like it, i didnt know it couldnt be plumbed back until i bought it and it was put on... Is there any way to plumb them back? can you buy like an adapter to put on the end to plumb or 1/2 plumb back?
  23. yeh nice... I dont want it to be "rice"... well not too much. not over the top Keep the pictures coming... if anyone has any photos of their installs in 33's post them up to give me more ideas. Most of the ones i have found from searching are a bit over the top, autosalon style.
  24. sweet. It will still be "custom" work so to speak. But straight edges and flat panels. I know how all the little things add up in time, and how long it takes to do unusual shapes etc hence why i am not doing it myself (and i want everything to line up nicely too) Might still have a bash at sound deadening so Marty has more time to spend elsewhere. I think that is the easiest thing for me to have a go at myself.
