  1. Why not glass in the boot? I dont want perspex that will scratch, the reason i want a false floor is so that i can still use the boot. im trying to find a happy medium... 10k is way more than i want to spend.... but i dont want to spend $1000 and have something dodgey. I dont want super fancy. i dont want fancy at all. I just want neat, clean and hot. No curves, no fibreglass, just straight walls, 1 sub box and a flat floor done properly though.
  2. $7g???? (88$/hr x 8hrs x 10 days) Damn its not a show car install, its just a false floor...didnt think it would cost quite that much $7000 is a lot considering there is no fiberglass work being done. Alternator is not being changed now, just upgrading the battery to a yellowtop instead.
  3. PM me your new number, your old one doesnt work no more!! cant wait to catch up with all the guys, its been a while, should be some very nice changes to everyones ride....Shaun is doing his engine swap at the moment...Bastard is always going to be quicker than me, i spent so much trying to catch up... so what does he do? 25/30
  4. Hey mate... i was in town last week, tried to catch up with u guys but no one was out and about last weekend . luke is useless. good to hear the car is almost back on the road, mine will be soon too ill be back in canberra as soon as this is done to have the engine bay detailed and dressed up.
  5. I seem to get "ticked off" quite a bit. I am starting to realise how much pisses me off now i am writing things down. This one is up there with taxi drivers and scooters though ........THE POST MAN My mailbox is RIGHT next to the intercom. I order a LOT of things from the net to be delivered. THe delivery guy for australia post gets paid per package and it is faster for him to write "sorry we missed you" cards before he goes out and just slides them into letterboxes when people are home. I have made 11 complaints to australia post and it is still happening. THEN they lost my nismo car mats i bought $300 down the drain because they weren't insured properly:( . I have started posting things to myself so that i can catch the bugger but I haven't caught him yet....SOON. I was home all day yesterday when the delivery guy "MISSED ME" so i had to drive to the post office AGAIN to get my parcel which i needed today. I got there at exactly 4:55pm (i syncronise my watch regularly) JUST as i got there they locked the door and told me to come back tomorrow. I told them i was not coming back and that they would have to deliver it to me tomorrow, they said they couldnt do that - they only "try" to deliver once. I walked around the back and pushed through the back door just as they were closing it and refused to leave until they gave me my package. "please sir you have to leave" " like f*($ im leaving, you should be doing your job so i dont have to waste my time and petrol driving in here 3 times a week". "sir if you dont leave the alarm will go off, and the police will come" "IM NOT LEAVING UNTIL I GET MY MAIL" Hehe Anyway moral of story... I got my package... and australia post hates me.
  6. Does it do anything if you hold it down for a few seconds instead of just pressing it? I had an old maxima before the line with the same remote as that and it set the alarm off if you held it down.
  7. I want a simple, neat HOT install. No curved edges, no fibreglass, MORE dynamat? I thought I had enough with the bulk kit AND the trunk kit. i dont want any fibreglassing...just MDF and glass (not perspex, want glass i think). just 1 x 10" sub mounted in the corner in flush sitting box (just MDF with carpet) got 0G wiring kit for the new earths and a fairly new battery - not deep cycle. and 4G wiring kit for the two amps (doesnt have to reach far for the R33 battery being in the boot). One of the guys on caraudioaustralia reckons about $3-$4g.... bit more than i was expecting, might have to bring this down by leaving the alternator out, and maybe sound deadening myself.
  8. Thanks, waiting on a PM from marty, I PM'd him before asking this question. Want to upgrade alternator because i dont think its supplying enough. It could be that i just need to re-earth and run new power cables (which I plan to do) but the alternator is the original one, and they are meant to be changed every 40,000kms or something aren't they? Any rough guess on cost? Thoughts on the false floor setup?
  9. Proper bikes are fine, because they CAN go 3 times faster than anything else on the road. They dont hold up traffic. It is like scooter riders win themselves "HERO" status by getting out the front of a big "RACE" and just hold everyone off to cross the IMAGINARY line first. Anyone know a good place that makes custom bull bars for the lines? with barbed spikes on the front and SHARKS WITH LASERS
  10. its a BIG list
  11. Wish i had MINE months ago
  12. After rocker covers for R33 and stock plenum Not looking to pay too much as I just want them so i can start painting/polishing while my car is still in the workshop. I am now up in Cairns, so anything up North would be better.
  13. Does anyone know the rules with "interstate" regulations. E.g. my car is registered in Vic, but i spend a fair bit of time in NSW and QLD with the car. If i get defected whilst in NSW or QLD does it have to be cleared in that state? or do i just get it done when i go back to vic? and which states rules does it need to comply with?
  14. Yeh but they pull out when you are ALONG side of them. Where are you meant to go? They pull out THEN indicate, how are you meant to know what the driver is thinking? That is another thing that pisses me off, peope that turn and THEN indicate, they are there to warn people in advance what you are intending to do. Another thing is people that pull up at lights and want to turn right, they wait until you are behind them stopped at the lights THEN indicate to turn right so you cant get around them I just moved from canberra to Sydney, you guys have nothing to complain about. There should not be any d*($# on the ACT roads because they are ALL here in Sydney. Oh i have one more.... scooters the next scooter that cuts me off is going to have a mark from my FMIC grill in their back. They push through the traffic and take off fast at the lights until they hit max speed at 40kph then hold up traffic. I had one overtake me on the left around a blind corner in the wet the other day. I spent the next 20mins stuck behind him doing 45kph in a 70 zone. This is great to whinge and bitch.... It is like a free shrink visit :D
  15. I wanted new ones because the standard ones look horrible, pretty ordinary weld job and they look even worse now that i took the paint off. I had a brain failure, got happy polishing my new piping for the intercooler and without thinking started on the standard ones, got about half way through and realised "hang on, thats not alloy". If i were to get these painted or coated I would have to touch up the welds anyway and remove a lot of the marks in them It should not cost much i dont think to have some new ones made up, i just thought if you could actually buy them along with the intake pipes being sold that would be great, either in S/S or alloy. i havent had a chance to look but I think the standard one to the turbo has a 45 degree silicon elbow, if i was getting new ones made up i would just run the pipe closer to the turbo so i could get just a straight joiner... Any guesses on cost having new ones made?
  16. I have a blitz FMIC with the piping that retains the stock intercooler piping from the passenger guard. I was wondering what these pipes are "technically" called? Is it still called intercooler piping? or does it have a specific name? I would like to buy new ones, or have them made up as the stock ones are MS and i was silly enough to take the paint off. Alternatively I will get them chromed/re-painted But there is someone on here making "intake" pipes for the R33 from the POD, does anyone make the intercooler ones, there are two pipes painted black standard, I dont have a pic but im sure everyone knows what im talking about. i cant make my POD shield until i have this done.
  17. Yep thanks... I just noticed the little letters on the plug and the little letters, ABCD etc in your pic. My plug is different to the one in your tute, but the wires wil be in the same order, I think i got the Tomei plug, its "squarer" with different wires.
  18. No one else wants to kill taxi drivers? I mean yes they stop me from drink driving.... but that doesnt mean I like them.
  19. ben, Love the car... Looks VERY nice. Would hate to think of the $ that went into it. I have spent HEAPS on mine and still doesnt look very special. Who does most of your work? (mechanical and interior/exterior)
  20. I got mine done for $80 incl. new studs A place called "action thread repairs" in Sydney, there might be a similiar place in qld. The guy was a champ, drove across town and it was about a 15min job. Didnt take the head etc off, had an angled drill and screw extractors. Just needed turbo and manifold taken off. Mine were broken off INSIDE the head so there was no stud sticking out. Did not drill more than a few mil into the stud so no chance of damaging head. If anyone from Sydney needs this done, PM me and ill dig the number up
  21. But a screw extraction tool if there is no other way to get it out. Bunnings etc sell them. Or you can cut a slit in the top of the head and use a flat head screwdrive to pull it out.
  22. I bought a z32 with the tomei adapter plug and it looks a bit different. I have 4 wires Black with white trace black White Brown I have a series II R33, would be good to have colours to match from and to. The car is in the workshop so i cant look at the stock one atm. But i was going to be charged $300 to fit the AFM and new injectors which I think is a bit steep. Plus more $ for the tune
  23. MACGUYVER Give me a safety pin and a hair clip and ill fix your car haha SWEEET
