Painting and polishing i can do myself Re-wiring I can not 500 was for the labour, and of course add on to that silicon hoses and braided lines etc
-
Should I take the car to a performance place like CRD to do this? or would I be better off just going to another workshop (to get it done maybe a bit cheaper?) I live in Sydney, eastern suburbs

Thinking about getting new intake pipes made up (or the stock ones chromed/painted) Oil cap Polish/paint rocker covers Move alarm siren and put POD shield Braided lines? maybe Silicon rad. hoses There are a few hoses with screws in the end, extra bits and pieces that need clearing out etc
-
Not show car standard... just so it looks respectable not respraying the engine bay or anything like that... just a LITTLE bit of rice i guess e.g. things like polish/paint rocker covers, POD shield, hide wiring etc...

Spent a bit of time (and $) on performance mods etc The car is almost at the point where I am happy with how it is running... The next thing on my list is to tidy up the engine bay, and install the stereo properly. Ive been looking around and got a few ideas on how to tidy it up. If it was your car, what would YOU do first? At the moment I am embarassed to open the hood because there are wires and hoses and lines running EVERYWHERE. Whilst on topic does anyone know of a good place that would be happy to tidy the engine bay up for me, hide wiring etc in Sydney? I dont want to go over the top, budget of around $500 (possibly more if I decide to put in an oil cooler with reloc. kit etc)

G'day guys Just wondering if there would be any interest for having a walk through the garrett workshop. I might be able to organise a stop over at the workshop for a look through and to have a chat and see what was avail. Would be a great chance to have a chat to the guys there and get some good advice/options etc. If there is any interest I will try to organise something. Just an expression of interest at this stage Cheers Heath

DAMN, i tried to make my own, but it turned out pretty rubbish... I might have to pay to get someone to move the siren, hopefully that can be done If its not too expensive to move the siren I will buy both the rad. guide and the POD shield from you Cheers

Can this be used as an "add on" extra for an existing alarm? I dont want to get rid of the alarm I have (it was quite expensive) but I want the phone feature added on, at the moment i just have a pager with limited range. Cheers

Some good news, nengun said they just sold the 740cc injectors so I did not get charged a restocking fee and they gave me the difference in prices as credit (only $59 but its the principle of the matter). The way I see it, is that if a company has a customer that is spending a fair amount of $ through them, then they should be looked after (even if they are spending $20 they should be looked after). Happy with their response and i have a bit of credit in my account there so looks like i WILL be buying through nengun again. I specifically didnt ask for the $ to be returned to my account, I thought that for $59 credit they ensure that I come back and shop again (which i have done a few times already) Fuel consumption is killing me and i still havent fixed what ever it is thats making my car so thirsty, after the turbo goes on and i have it tuned I want/need really good fuel economy for a while so that I can afford to run the car. And yes i have lived in cairns, takes 4-5 days to get an 'express' parcel from sydney or melbourne.

Do you think it will fit in here without having to move my boost solenoid or alarm siren? Does the shield go straight down at the back (side towards rear of car)? or does it angle in?

Who did you speak with at garrett? was this in Sydney?

I take back some of my praise after yesterday I ordered 740cc injectors and then after I paid for these I asked for 555cc injectors instead. There is a $100 difference in the price and they told me that they charge a 25% re-stocking fee as they can not return the 740cc injectors to their supplier. I expected my $100 back, if not a refund at LEAST a credit for my next order. I have spent a LOT of money through nengun and i was planning to spend a lot more. I knew there was time to change the order because they usually take a few weeks before they are sent off. Even if they do need to hold onto the 740cc injectors I imagine they would be able to sell them VERY easily. I did not realise they were just a middle man operation and that they didnt actually keep parts in stock. If they stocked parts then a) shipping would be MUCH faster and b) it wouldnt matter if i changed the order they would just ship different ones And thats my rant

Yeh whats going on? -
I have had 5 orders from nengun, the larger orders do seem to take a little while to get organised, but when shipping is a fair portion of the cost of an order it is nice to be able to look at what adding in an extra part will cost you and how the affect the shipping without having to write countless emails back and forth. Items have always arrived in perfect condition, well packaged, sometimes suprisingly quickly, other times quite slow. If you are after a non critical part, or having the car off the road for an amount of time for a rebuild etc anyway it pays to plan out what you need and try to order in $1000 lots ( if possible to save on customs and postage). That said i had an order worth close to $2000 and did not get stung with customs I am still waiting on an order from a few weeks ago, but I changed my mind on two items so this time it is my fault (ordered 740cc injectors instead of 555cc) As far as i have seen nengun have been significantly cheaper than local suppliers - but it all depends on the item i suppose. Greenline on the other hand ( i was going to try them for the second order) they never responded to my 4 emails. So I gave up on them and went back to nengun,

I was pulling my car apart the other day to see what space I had in the boot for a new stereo install and down the passenger side of the boot behind the lining there is a big hole... in this cavity i found a small box and i couldnt get my head in there to see or to take a photo of what it was, but it has a fine steel mesh/filter over the front...It sits in the same position as the car jack on the opposite side of the car (well under where the car jack sits) Sorry about being so vague, but does anyone know what this would be?
