  1. Hey Phrase, Was great to meet you and it is so righteous that you have tried to bring back the word righteous!
  2. 83NNO now known as Donkey Punch is in for dinner. Just got the call from him now.
  3. Ask MountainRunner (Paul), he keeps up to date with what is happening on this front.
  4. I first met the gang by going to a dinner, I also felt a bit wierd about going cause I didn't know anyone but everyone made me feel so welcome that I now go almost everyweek and I am involved in the club as much as I can be.
  5. agreed. but some of us don't see the value of the CAMS license at the moment. Time will change that for me if all goes well with Lakeside.
  6. perhaps the performance potential is taken advantage of without the requirement for a CAMS license.
  7. I updated my post above.
  8. I have personally seen a 11 or 12 sec VH Commodore wagon which has had about $2500 spent on the engine. So it doesn't have to be expensive. If you don't believe me I will gladly arrange for you to speak to the guy who built it. You already know of him. And I am not aware of a single Brisbane Skyline owner with an Andra or Cams card anymore, I am sure there are a few of them, but not many left. Perhaps that might explain the lack of them there.
  9. They use "Striploin 5 Star" steak which seems to be rated well according to the MSA guidelines for aged beef.
  10. I didn't notice this event was on and I am over taking pics of my car, I am more into driving it these days. Most of the execs were nursing hangovers from the Official SAuQLD Pub Crawl Event.
  11. There is real food. Menu here, notice the steak!
  12. Noel, are you serious with your question of just bored and looking for a bite? Drags to me are not all that interesting, my car was built to handle and as such I would prefer to use it around corners where I have more fun. This doesn't exclude it from being capable at drag racing though. Having said that, to race door to door where you can overtake on corners etc is reserved for those with specific CAMS licenses, to the best of my knowledge the track day events that don't require more then a basic license don't allow you to overtake on corners hence removing the fun aspect of it for me. Another aspect to consider is that many Skyline owners that I know use their Skylines as a daily driver and as such, don't race it all the time and save their fun for Skyline concentrated events where they can enjoy the racing with other Skyline owners. Another thing to consider is that a VH Commodore with a 308 with some work done to it is a cheap fun when compared to a Skyline, and if they break something the repair cost and availability of parts make it even easier to fix. Now, you said that you went to these events but did you participate in said events? If you didn't then I would assume you have a reason for not doing so and perhaps that same reason may be why other's weren't there on the day. Generalisations are a problem though so I understand you don't mean everyone when you question the participation. Cheers, Ben.
  13. count me in seeing as Shane isn't coming
  14. If anyone needs exhaust work done, see these guys. They repaired my broken and rusted zorst for $25 today. Exceptional service and for $25 its hardly worth looking at a car. The Muffler Shop Pty Ltd 246 Logan Rd Stones Corner QLD 4120 ph: (07) 3891 6331
  15. Thanks to all that showed and for Karen for booking it. I had a great night, was one of the better dinners I have been too despite the gh3y payment policies. Just out of spite I would like to never eat there again but my stomach will win in the end and I will crumble.
  16. Yeah, I cannot complain.
  17. The bandwidth issues/costs may not be a problem soon for SAU depending on talks with Christian. So don't weigh bandwidth usage to heavily in the arguments.
  18. Just because I was smart enough to not implant my seed and prove how bad it was doesn’t mean I haven’t spread it around on occasion! Yeah the car is back on the road, sorting out the next bunch of go fast mods now to be fitted over the next 4 weeks. If anyone has info on using RB20 Air Flow Meters on a GTR then please PM me.
  19. Franky, for directions click here
  20. With some luck they might see how serious the matter is when there is loads of support from others in the import car scene. Not knowing who the company is exactly but guessing that they are an import car yard, it can't be good for business to have that many people knowing about your stuffups and the potential intimidation to resolve the matter can only be a good thing. I think the average Skyline owner is past the aggressor mindset that you are hinting at, well I hope so.
  21. Are you referring to Ivan Lee at Hi-Power Racing or is there an Ivan at Hi Octane as well?
  22. If your keen I am personally ready to come down and do what ever I can, it would seem that you could easily get 50ish people from the forums to come along at the same time. We could be a little forceful in our approach and with the numbers they ain't gonna play up.
  23. Got the car back. No unauthorised work was performed. They looked over the whole car and printed out a list of minor things that need doing. All seems good. It was a good experience all round. showbag, I had to get the gearbox and atessa system drained, then have the atessa system flushed to remove the gearoil that was put in it.
  24. I am waiting for a call back from them. My car is still with them and when I try to call them I am getting their answering machine, they must be on lunch. What was going to be approx $80 and 1 hour to be done while I wait has turned into $220ish and all day. If the quality of the work is good then I have no problems with the extra time, I will just know better for next time.
  25. Hoping I will get it back today....its a good thing I managed to arrange a lift to and from the shop....I would hate to be waiting there all day.
